Learn to change a Fireworks CS5 magic wand selection into a native path shape. Doing this gives you more graphics editing abilities as opposed to cutting a bitmap symbol. You cannot give a bitmap selection fill, texture, stroke, and many other meaningful effects to customize it. This is why we convert marquee selections to paths, to have better graphics editing power over the shape. You can easily produce silhouettes and clip art using this technique also.
