Imam Mohammad Al Asi previously led the daily and Jum'ah prayers inside the Masjid. His speeches were revolutionary and thought provoking, and eventually irritated and threatened the Middle-East Ambassadors who control the Masjid. Finally, the Imam, his family, and other Muslims faithful to the course of Islam were forced out, into the streets. His khutbahs originate from the sidewalk across the street from the Islamic Center, currently under seige.
He is also the author of the first-ever tafseer of the Qur'an - titled : The Ascendant Qur'an- written directly in the English Language. The Qur'an gained popularity with a wide variety of Muslims, justice seeking groups and sinister rulers. However, this has led to translations and interpretations that fit the different agendas of these wayward rulers and often has meant drifting far from the original meaning of the words. Imam Asi attempts to reverse this trend and in my analysis of his struggle, he has deliberately set out to evacuate these covert assailants on Islam's mission who distort or completely alter the message that the Qur'an actually transmit.

The province of Kermanshah, with an estimated population of 2 million, has various religious, ethnic and cultural groups.
Iran\'s dominant faith is Shia Islam, but despite this the Shia leader is warmly welcomed in Kermanshah, a province with a large Sunni and Jewish population among others.
This is a province that has had its own fare share of challenges since the revolution and the 8 year Iran-Iraq war that followed.

There were many companions of Imam Husain (A.S.) that sacrificed their lives on the day of Ashura. Many of them are not usually mentioned by their names in speeches and majaalis, although their sacrifices were no less important. The purpose of this presentation is to pay tribute and mention them by their names. It is also important to note that traditionally the number of martyrs in Karbala is stated to be seventy-two.However,according to several accounts, there were more than one hundred martyrs.

Members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria marched in a procession to mark the Day of Ashura.
Ashura marks the day when Imam Hussein and 72 of his companions were martyred in Karbala around 1,300 years ago. The Islamic movement of Nigeria said the Day of Ashura symbolizes the humanity\'s struggle against tyranny. The
recreation of his martyrdom through drama was performed here during this event.
The performance shows the suffering and martyrdom of Imam Hussein by the forces of the second Umayyad caliph Yazid.
The public procession also featured the ceremonial chest beating as a display of devotion to Imam Hussein, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and remembering his suffering.
The procession ended at Kofar Doka where speeches were delivered and members were asked to stand for truth and justice at all times.
