Tony Blair arrived at the Royal Courts of Justice with a wave, but there were protests going on outside. Tony Blair's testimony at the Leveson inquiry was as measured and considered as ever. David Lawley-Wakelin, a documentary film-maker, who managed to get past security-coded doors to access the judges' corridor leading to courtroom 73 on May 28, pointed to the 59-year-old ex-Labour leader and shouted, "This man is a war criminal."
"This man should be arrested for war crimes. JP Morgan paid (Mr. Blair) off for the Iraq war. Three months after he invaded Iraq they held up the Iraq bank for $20 billion (£13bn)," said Lawley-Wakelin. "He was then paid $6 million (£4m) every year and still is from JP Morgan six months after he left office."

Security sources say dozens of angry protesters attacked Shafiq's campaign headquarters in two provincial towns, one of which in Fayyoum south of the capital Cairo and the other one in Hurghada on the Red Sea. Shafiq's campaign headquarters in Cairo had already been attacked last Monday. Besides supporting Mubarak's verdict, Shafiq has lashed out at his Muslim Brotherhood rival.

Political activists labeled as terrorists, falsely identifying domestic terrorism threats. Nothing wrong with going after the bad guy, or threats: But to manufacture this, based on scant data: that's what the FBI is accused of, blurring the lines between reality and speculation, as revealed through their domestic terrorism training materials, which has a special focus on activists. In this edition of the News Analysis, we will look closer at how freedom is not what it used to be in the US. Right after the meeting the two ministers held a joint press conference, both sides said they hold similar views regarding the situation in Syria. Meanwhile Iran's foreign minister Ali Akbar Salehi referring to the upcoming talks between Iran and the p5+1 group due in Moscow noted that the results of the negotiations would be fruitful if they're based on cooperation.
Lavrov for his part said that Moscow is to invite around 15 countries, including Iran, for an international meeting on Syria. He further noted that said the conference would call for the implementation of the plan by UN-Arab League joint envoy Kofi Annan. Kofi Annan's six-point peace plan for Syria launched in February 2012 is considered as the most serious international attempt to resolve the Syrian unrest. Iran says it will seek a three-step strategy in the ongoing round of talks with the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany (P5+1) in Moscow.
A member of the Iranian negotiating delegation, speaking on condition of anonymity, said on Monday that during the first phase of the Moscow talks, the Iranian delegation will criticize the other party for squandering chances after the negotiations in Baghdad and refusing to hold deputy-level talks. He said the P5+1 has thus dealt a blow to the talks in Moscow.
The Iranian diplomat said Tehran will also give clear and well-documented responses based on the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

[05 July 2012] West biased towards Syria conflict - English
Switzerland has decided to suspend arms shipments to the United Arab Emirates following a report that Swiss-made hand grenades are being used by armed gangs in Syria. The measure was taken on Wednesday after the Sonntagszeitung newspaper published a photograph taken of one such device in possession of anti-Damascus forces in the town of Marea, north of Aleppo, at the end of June.
Preliminary inquiries into the photo showed the grenade in question was made by the Bern-based arms manufacturer RUAG, and was part of a shipment made by the company to the UAE in 2003. In an interview with Press TV, Charles Shoebridge, a security analyst in London, shares his opinions regarding the issue.

[29 July 2012] West Bank under fire - Remember Palestine - English
A number of NGOs including UNICEF and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights as well as Palestinian Al Haq and the Israeli Yesh Din, issued yet another statement on the continued rise in settler violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. The statement which states there has been an astounding 150% increase in settler violence since 2009 comes just a few days after a lethal attack on a Palestinian who was repeatedly stabbed by settlers after just being shot by Israeli soldiers.
A report from the Palestine Center published this year identifies three potential causes for settler violence; it\'s response to Israeli government actions; it\'s a product of demographics and security arrangements; it is a response to Palestinian violence. The report also states that while Israeli settler violence is not new, the extent and frequency with which it is perpetrated today is new.
