Syrian media reports reject the opposition\'s latest accusation that government forces used chemicals in Damascus countryside.
Syrian media say claims of a gas attack by the army in al-Nabek are completely false and baseless. They\'re calling the allegation an attempt to justify the recent defeats of terrorist groups in their confrontations with army units. This comes a day after the foreign-backed opposition accused government troops of using poison gas. Back in August, hundreds of people lost their lives in a nerve gas attack around Damascus. Both sides blamed each other for the attack. Later on, the Syrian government agreed to give up the country\'s chemical weapons arsenal when an agreement between the U-S and Russia averted an attack on Syria.

The leader of Afghanistan\'s Islamic Party has called on President Hamid Karzai to reject the security pact with the United States.
Gulbuddin Hekmatyar says the so-called bilateral security agreement is not in the interest of Afghans and that Karzai should not sign it. The famous warlord has warned that the partnership deal will not end bloodshed in Afghanistan; on the contrary it will cause more troubles. The security deal paves the way for US military presence in the war-torn country beyond the 20-14 withdrawal of foreign forces. Many Afghans believe the pact is a threat to their country\'s sovereignty as it allows American soldiers to carry out unilateral operations while having legal immunity.

[15 Dec 2013] Palestinians reject US security proposals regarding conflict with Israel - English

Palestinians insist that they will not accept a security plan proposed by the US, regarding their conflict with Israelis.A member from the Fatah Party of acting Palestinian chief Mahmud Abbas has told Press TV that anything detracting the sovereignty of a Palestinian state is rejected.
The plan was proposed by US secretary of state, John Kerry during his latest trip to occupied territories on Thursday and Friday ---- the second such visit in less than a week. Under the proposed plan, Israel will keep military presence in a future Palestinian state along its strategic border with Jordan. Acting Palestinian chief, Mahmud Abbas has rejected the US-proposed plan. Sources say he\\\'s also presented Kerry a letter laying down what Palestinians have called red lines. Yet, Abbas is facing growing criticism over the continuation of talks with Israelis. Critics say the talks must be halted, as long as Israel pushes ahead with its settlement projects on occupied Palestinian lands and continues aggressions against Palestinians. Although Abbas has rejected the security proposals outlined by the US, political factions are calling on him to end the negotiations and take other methods against the occupation, as they see the US taking Israel\\\'s side.
