==============================
Some parents are constantly questioning their children who are students. Whenever he or she comes home from school or the father enters the house, the parents ask about the child’s studies and immediately tell him/her to study. They immediately blame him/her, “Why didn’t you study? Why aren’t you studying now? Why are you playing now?” They immediately ask about the children’s grades and blame them if their grades are low. They immediately compare them with others.
If parents do these things, it’s because of their compassion. But in doing this, they make their children hate studying. Plus, the children will start hating themselves too.
If immediately after returning home from school every day, or immediately after the father comes home every day, a child is questioned, preached to and punished, this isn’t useful. Why do you do this? It will get worse. A child will become fed up. Why? Because some ideas will become formed in his mind. [He’ll think,] “Father means punishment if you don’t study.” Having this idea about his father is not good, and the child will become distanced from him.
And yet, the reason behind these behaviors is that the parents are worried about their children and love them. They don’t care about other people’s studies and don’t direct others like this. They don’t care if others become wretched or become prosperous. The parents are worried about you, their child. This is the reason for their behavior, but this reason isn’t seen. What is seen? The bitterness of ordering, preaching, blaming, and checking up on them.
Dear parents, even when your child returns home after an exam, exams that are held occasionally, don’t ask them about it immediately. Say, “How was the weather? Did you play after your test?” Wait one or two hours, then ask, “By the way, how was your test?” so that they won’t feel stressed. Why am I saying this? Your child shouldn’t think you are just judging, checking, blaming and punishing him. So when parents want to train their child, they must be careful of the bitter feelings that may be created.
Training needs an introduction, should be occasional and must be done using different ways so as not to create negative feelings. If parents are constantly preaching, checking, blaming and asking about the child’s studies, he will start hating his parents and also hate his studies. He will also think negatively about the home, and the home environment will be irritating for him.

What is your purpose in practicing religion? We can mention other reasons for our religiosity. They are right too. But it\'s not suitable to word it like that. It’s not nice or pleasant to say it like that. [We can count them,] “One, two, three, four.” Usually the reasons mentioned are not accurate. It’s more accurate to say, “I want to enjoy more.”
Why do you want to enjoy more in this world and in the Hereafter? Because God has created me to enjoy, not to suffer. God is kind. He has allowed me to experience pleasures and has created me in a way that I pursue enjoyments. He doesn’t say, “Don’t touch it! I want to bother you.” Is God like this?! One doesn’t understand God if he thinks he hasn’t been created to enjoy.
Have you seen how some fathers are a little grudging? God forbid, I don’t want to insult fathers. Or some employers or bosses. For example, a father sees his child is playing. As soon as he sees his child playing, he says, “Shouldn’t you be studying now?!” [The child says,] “You can’t tolerate me playing? You have to remind me now?!” Some people think the same way about God. They think God likes to see us suffering!
What is your purpose in practicing religion? Don’t say, “So I won’t go to Hell.” Don’t say, “I’m forced to.” Only a part of this is true! Don’t say, “This is God’s right.” What will happen next after you carry out God’s right? Will you enjoy it? [You’ll say,] “No, I’m not after enjoying.” You force me to say something! I have to tell you, “Kiddo! You’re not at that level! You’ll go astray with one small pleasure. And now you’re talking about carrying out God’s right?!”
Human beings have been created to enjoy. “Why do you practice religion?” To enjoy. “Is practicing religion the way for us to enjoy?” Yes! Now the second part of the discussion starts. Yes, no one else knows how to show the way. [One might say,] “No, God is showing us how to stay away from sins.” God is not that boring! God has created me to enjoy. Is it rational for Him to not let me enjoy? [He won’t say,] “I’ve created you to enjoy, but don’t touch anything! Go away!” This is a misconception about God! Such a God is not kind.
We say, “In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.” God Who is kind has created me to enjoy. We can’t deny this. Wouldn’t this be unkind for Him to tell me to move away [from pleasures]?
What is your purpose in practicing religion? We can mention other reasons for our religiosity. They are right too. But it\'s not accurate to word it like that. It’s more accurate to say, “I want to enjoy more.”

==============================
We want God to give us security. We want to seek refuge in God as a result of having experienced insecurity. What do we need to know to make this come about better? What is it? God\'s power. His power!
I will tell you now. Read the Qur\'an a lot. God, the Almighty, seriously intends to convince everyone who reads these verses that He is the first and last power in the universe. He wants to prove to you that He is a superpower, and actually He is the only power.
God is the absolute power. He does whatever He wants. He forgives, guides and grants sustenance to whomever He wants. [Qur’an 3:129, 74:31, 2:212] He attributes many things to Himself. “We [God] created heaven and earth. We said this and that.” God creates an upheaval! A person gradually accepts this.
Therefore, I ask you to first look at the Qur\'an as an educational, spiritually effective, constructive book, not as a book that should be translated scientifically to take rulings and lessons from it. Let it correct you.
For example, they give eggplant stew to someone in a laboratory and say, “Test this and see if it’s good or not. Check the amount of vitamins in it.” This scientist won’t eat it even if he is dying from hunger. He wants to test this food. Many of us who go toward the Qur’an act like this scientist in the laboratory does. “Let’s see what’s in it.” Eat it! Eat it! You’re weak from hunger. Consume the Qur’an!
For example, one is listening to music. [Someone says,] “You’re listening to music a lot. You really enjoy it!” [He replies,] “No, I’ve been asked to write down the lyrics of these 100 songs. That’s what I’m doing. I don’t like them at all. I can’t relate to them. I don’t know their genres or anything about them.” This is a meaningless connection with music. The purpose of music is not for you to write the lyrics! A person who does this is a researcher and doesn’t understand the elements of music. He doesn’t fly with music.
Does anyone fly with music? Yes, as much as a hen can fly! But with the Qur’an, one flies to God Himself. He flies through the atmosphere and through the galaxy.
Once there was an art student in the university who was also a painter. As I was walking through the university campus, I saw him painting. There was a small cassette player next to him playing music. I asked him very cautiously, “Why are you listening to this music?” He said, “Music makes the soul more delicate, and I am doing something delicate now. I want this delicacy to be conveyed.” He was right. I said, “If I suggest something, will you try it? Listen to the Qur’an for a while.” He said, “Qur’an?” I remember he said this in surprise. I answered, “Yes, see if it has the same effect.”
I went to that same college the next month. He came to me very upset! I asked myself, “What should I do now? It seems my suggestion wasn’t appropriate for him.” He was truly upset. He came forward and said angrily, “I’ve wasted my life! Why hadn’t I ever done this before? You don’t know what an impact this has had on me!” He was ahead of the one who had suggested this!
Use the Qur’an. Recite the Qur’an a lot. God, the Almighty, seriously intends to convince everyone who reads these verses that He is the first and last power in the universe. He wants to prove to you that He is a superpower, and actually He is the only power.

After thirteen years of struggle, the Muslim community were at a dead-end – if they stayed in Mecca, not only could they not grow, but rather, their lives were in danger every day. What to do in such a situation? The answer was to leave Mecca and find a new home to grow in – and so Prophet Muhammad, through the direction of Allāh, proceeded to plan to move at night to the city of Yathrib – north of Mecca. He would create an elaborate plan, with Imam ʿAlī playing the most important role in his young life – to sacrifice his life for the Prophet to remain safe. Join us in this episode as we review the migration to Medina – bidding farewell to Mecca.

==============================
«لِتَسکُنوا إلَیها» “
… so that you may take comfort in them.
”«وَ جعَلَ بَینَکُم مَوَدَّةً وَ رَحمَة» “
… and He put between you love and compassion.” [Qur’an 30:21]
The Almighty God mentions three very important functions of marriage in this verse. Play these two roles. Men should play two roles for women. Women too should play two roles for men. However, some men and women aren’t able to play both of these roles. These two roles have been mentioned using the words “love and compassion” in this verse. They have been mentioned but not explained.
Your wife’s age is close to your age. And women have their own personalities. They might even manage you. They understand a lot too. Today’s women understand a lot. But sometimes they like to play the role of a spoiled, little girl who is being cute for her dad. In such a case, you should act like her father. You should act nobly. She may cry and complain. Say, “Aw, it’s ok. I’ll buy it for you!” Act nobly. Don’t act childishly. When she’s acting childishly you behave nobly. You’re like her father. Sometimes a woman plays this role.
At other times your wife isn’t playing the role of a little girl who is being cute for her dad. She plays the role of a mother for a little boy, which is you. You too sometimes become like a little boy who needs his mom. Women should keep this in mind that their husbands have just been separated from their moms! Today’s young men are a little spoiled. If you see a man who asks a lot for kindness from his wife, this means he has become a little too feminine. No, you’re a man. Be firm. But sometimes a man breaks down like a little boy and needs his wife to behave nobly. His wife should say, “It’s ok. It’ll be alright.” Like a mom. Have you seen how moms act at home? Women should play this role.
So the role of a little girl and a mom are two coupled roles that a skilled women should play at home. And the role of a dad and a little boy are two coupled roles that men should play for women.

Humans are creatures of rhythm and repetition. From our breath to our gait: rhythm is central to our experience, and often brings us pleasure. We can find pleasure in the rhythm of a song, or even the rows of an orchard. Of course, too much repetition can also backfire. David Silverstein describes what poetic repetition is and why it works.

Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah Martyrs Day Speech - February 16,2020 (English Voiceover)

Important points of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah\'s speech 16 February 2021 Martyrs Day:
⭕-Nasrallah: I send my salutations to people of Bahrain, and hope they return Bahrain back to its normal, natural place, after its traitorous leaders made country into base for normalization w/Zionist enemy, betrayal of Palestinian cause.
⭕-Nasrallah: Sheikh Ragheb Harb launched the position of refusing to shake hands/deal with the enemy, particularly when the enemy is the Zionist enemy. This refusal is in and of itself a weapon in the Resistance\'s arsenal.
⭕-Nasrallah: On recent accusations being bandied around in Lebanon [over Lokman Slim\'s murder]. Every time something bad happens in Lebanon, accusations and insults directed against Hezbollah. Local, Arab, and Social media used to direct these accusations
⭕-Nasrallah: What is happening to us violates all principles and laws. In every legal system, one is innocent until proven guilty. Except in Lebanon. When it comes to Hezbollah, we are guilty and condemned until our innocence is proven.
⭕-Nasrallah: I understand Hariri\'s insistence on holding on to Interior Ministry. Hezbollah/AMAL did this on Finance Ministry, so we understand other parties doing the same.
⭕-Nasrallah: We have a problem in Lebanon called social media networks. Someone issues a statement, it\'s then picked up by supporters of one group against another, and it appears that there\'s a big crisis. There are American and Israeli electronic armies trying to initiate sectarian, political clashes in Lebanon. Recently, a Jordanian - obviously acting for Israel - was boasting that he initiated social media clash between Iranians and Iraqis. We must beware of this. Even among supporters of allied political parties, you\'ll have people who resurrect old issues and clash on social media. And then political parties have to clean up mess. I\'m not telling people not to express their opinions. Just to do it without insults, accusations, attacking symbols and figures. And just because someone, especially from allies, made a verbal mistake, don\'t go ripping their head off. We\'re friends, and this can be handled civilly.
⭕-Nasrallah: When we look at region, which powerfully impacts Lebanon, there are several factors to consider: Iranian nuclear issue, in light of new US admin and its new positions. We also note obvious Israeli , Saudi concern, and disagreement w/US
⭕-Nasrallah: Second, the Yemen issue -- new US admin, for several reasons I don\'t have time to analyze, stopped support for Saudi war, appointment of Yemen rep, called for end to war. If even in form, this is a positive matter, but Yemenis have right to be cautious. Enemy [US] could be playing trick, so Yemenis have reason to be cautious. But, change in US direction on Yemen war is positive
⭕-Nasrallah: Now on Syria issue, w/new Biden admin, we have to see US stance on east of Euphrates, Kurds, Turks, ISIS revival. US admin says its goal isn\'t to protect oil anymore but to fight ISIS, and now the Americans are re-releasing ISIS fighters into Syria, Iraq. So they\'ll have excuse to stay. If Trump admin wanted to remain in some places and withdraw from others, seems Biden admin wants to reassert American presence everywhere, so they revived ISIS
⭕-Nasrallah: Of course, the Resistance will once again defeat ISIS as it did before. Now, as [US] trying to revive ISIS in Iraq, Syria, and also in Lebanon, Hezbollah must go on the offensive to deal with this ISIS revival
⭕-Nasrallah: Clear US Biden admin\'s priority is China and Russia. China is economic threat to US, unbearable to Americans. This could be reason, in initial phase, how to deal w/ME issues differently. Not moral difference, but admission of realities: Iran, Syria, Yemen resilience. So American calculus is how to quickly deal w/these issues to free up itself to deal w/China
⭕-Nasrallah: On Israeli-Palestinian issue, no one is even talking about Deal of the Century. Looks like when Trump and Kushner left -- it was Kushner\'s deal anyway -- Deal of Century was abandoned, which is concerning to Israel, Saudi Arabia. Deal of Century Triangle was Trump-Israel-Saudi. Now, we hear US Secretary of State say they don\'t recognize Israeli soveriegnty over Golan, Jerusalem remains issue to be negotiated, and talking about 2 State Solution -- these are indicators Deal of Century over. This is because of resilience of Palestinians, Resistance Axis, against Trump, so it\'s forcing new US admin to reevaluate how to deal with this issue
⭕-Nasrallah: We think Israelis are exaggerating importance of normalization, just like they did w/Egypt and Jordan. Yes, Israel has peace w/Egyptian, Jordanian state, but their peoples have taken a very clear stance against Israel.
We see this in position of Bahraini people, opposition, clerics who oppose normalization w/Israel or dealings w/Bahraini financial institutions w/Israel. And the Bahrainis are under threat from their leaders.
We see same opposition in Tunisia, Algeria, Pakistan and other countries. So, we\'re betting on the people in these countries, because this is a battle for the people. We\'re not asking them to carry a weapon, just to boycott Israel and Israelis in every way.
⭕-Nasrallah: Israeli army chief Kochavi said that Israeli leadership must undergo change -- pretending they adhere to law and only target military targets. He said Israel must change approach, and if weapons are stored among civilians, they must strike them as well. Who is he fooling, that this is a change? IDF is a terrorist army that targets civilians, and this is attempt to give good image to ugliest, most murderous army in history of humanity
⭕-Nasrallah: Hezbollah is not seeking confrontation. But if you strike our towns and civilians, we will strike yours. In any case, we actually have civilians. But by Israeli admission, Israeli people are an army in reserve. They go to work, school, but all soldiers. So there really is no real distinction between Israeli soldiers and civilians. In the past, we deterred Israel by striking their settlements and colonies. We\'ll do it again.
⭕-Nasrallah: Israel can\'t act like it did in the past. We are in the era of the Resistance. Of course, Resistance deals w/these matters patiently, but no one should think we will be lax in defending ourselves

Don’t have self-confidence!
We have “self-confidence” in our terminology. But, there is no such thing as self-confidence in the religious texts. People tell us, “Have self-confidence.” What do they mean? They mean you should have spiritual power and strength, so that you can make decisions firmly and take action firmly. Stand by what you say. Don’t be shaky. This is what they mean by self-confidence. But, in Islam, the Qur’an, and discussions about the traditions and religion there is no talk about self-confidence at all.
When we say self-confidence, do we mean spiritual power and strength? God says, “Yes, having spiritual power and strength is a good thing. But, why do you want to gain it through self-confidence? This is very wrong.” We say, “So how should we gain this spiritual power and strength?” God says, “By trusting in Me! Why trust in yourself?!”
There is a wrong term, which people often use. It’s self-confidence. It is very wrong. An ignorant person trusts in himself. I have all these weaknesses. As the Qur’an says, I am “unjust and ignorant.” (Qur’an 33:73) I am so ignorant. How can I trust in myself? “But, you’ll become unsteady.” “No, not at all.” So if you don’t have confidence in yourself, where have you gained this strength?” “I trusted in God.”
A child doesn’t have self-confidence. He trusts in his parents. He is even calmer than we are. Ayatollah Bahjat used to say, “Children are never worried about tomorrow’s food.” Because they say, “Mom will provide it. What’re you saying? Dad will provide it.” He has no doubt that his parents will provide food. A child doesn’t have self-confidence. That is why he strongly trusts in his parents. He is constantly connected to his parents and won’t let go of them.
Have you seen a child in a gathering sitting and playing next to his parents? The parents get up to go somewhere, and the child starts screaming, “Don’t go. Sit down!” They say, “I’ll come back.” “No! If you go, I can’t count on your coming back. I have to be with you.” Whoever hugs him, he won’t listen at all.
We should scream in the same way if we move away from God. How does a child depend on his parents and stay calm? We’re supposed to trust in God in this same way and find peace. We want to cut our ties with God and stand on our own feet. God says, “Ok, go ahead. Poor person, you are ‘unjust and ignorant.’ Every moment you are unjust to yourself. You are acting ignorantly every moment.”
“Won’t our self-confidence be ruined when you call us, ‘unjust and ignorant?’ You say that we are so ignorant and unjust.” “Yes, your self-confidence will be ruined. Are you supposed to have self-confidence?” “Sir, if a person doesn’t have self-confidence, he’ll become unsteady and weak.” “Compensate your shakiness and weakness with God!”
There is a wrong term, which people often use. It’s self-confidence. It’s very wrong. A child doesn’t have self-confidence. That is why he strongly trusts in his parents. He is constantly connected to his parents and won’t let go of them. We’re supposed to trust in God in this same way and find peace. Trust in God!
