Israel\'s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is under fire by Israeli media for squandering public money on a posh lifestyle.
Reports of Netanyahu\'s plush items of interest come at a time when Tel Aviv is facing tough austerity measures. In a detailed document released by a civil liberties group, Netanyahu\'s alleged expenses on fancy whim-wham, including scented candles, flowers and ice cream, exceeded 900-thousand dollars in 2013 alone. Israelis have long been weary of Netanyahu\'s lavish lifestyle, and his failure to address the middle class\'s economic woes. Activists have held several large rallies to protest Tel Aviv\'s economic policies. Netanyahu\'s office has responded by saying that this year, they\'ve spent less than last year.

Science Experiment - Balancing Act - All Languages Other

1.Try to balance the textbook on a rolled up piece of paper. Use whatever method you want, but we\'ll bet you can\'t do it! Try rolling the paper up, making an arch... try everything.
2. Now roll the paper into a cylinder, length-wise, and wrap a rubber band around the tube to hold it in shape.
3. Now try balancing the textbook on top of the paper cylinder. Like magic, the tube can now support the entire weight of the textbook!
4. Looking at the cylinder, you might think the paper cylinder could support way more weight than just the textbook. There\'s only one way to find out! Find other items to balance on top of the text book. It\'s probably a good idea to keep the items unbreakable, because at some point, you\'ll have too much weight on there.
5. How many items were you able to get on top of the paper cylinder before it collapsed? Take all of those items to a scale and get a weight. Holy fright, that\'s a lot of weight… all balanced atop a piece of paper!
How does it work?
The average weight of a standard, flimsy, white piece of printer paper is less than 1 gram, right around .7 grams. It would make sense that something that light isn\'t able to hold the weight of a text book. Just trying to balance a textbook on top of the paper doesn\'t work… the paper just collapses! This is because the paper is unable to keep it\'s shape. It wants to return to a flat piece of parchment. With the addition of a rubber band, though, the paper can support and balance the textbook, and a whole lot more!
The secret to the paper\'s new found strength is the geometrical shape known as a cylinder. Cylinders are one of the most structurally sound, and strongest, geometrical shapes. Cylinders are able to be incredibly strong, regardless of the material they\'re made out of, because they disperse stress throughout their entire shape. If the rolled-up piece of paper were a perfect cylinder, the strength would be even stronger!

Learn how to make custom lines animate in streaming plasma and electric patterns. Then render out an SWF that can be imported into flash for your website animations.
Wiki Facts:
Adobe After Effects is primarily used for creating motion graphics and visual effects. After Effects allows users to animate, alter, and composite media in 2d and 3d space with various built-in tools and third party plug-ins, as well as individual attention to variables like parallax and user-adjustable angle of observation.
Both After Effects and some non-linear editing systems (NLEs) are layer-oriented, meaning that each individual media object (video clip, audio clip, still image, etc.) occupies its own track. In contrast, some NLEs use a system where individual media objects can occupy the same track as long as they do not overlap in time. This track-oriented system is more suited for editing and can keep project files much more concise. The layer-oriented system that After Effects adopts is suited for extensive effects work and keyframing. Although other compositing packages—especially ones that employ tree or node workflows, such as Apple Shake—are better suited to manage large volumes of objects within a composite, After Effects is able to somewhat counter the clutter by selectively hiding layers (using the Shy switch) or by grouping them into pre-compositions.
The main interface consists of several panels (windows in versions prior to After Effects 7.0). Three of the most commonly used panels are the Project panel, the Composition panel, and the Timeline panel. The Project panel acts as a bin to import stills, video, and audio footage items. Footage items in the Project panel are used in the Timeline panel, where layer order and timing can be adjusted. The items visible at the current time marker are displayed in the Composition panel.
After Effects integrates with other Adobe software titles such as Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Encore, and Flash.

From all corners of the world, Muslims gather annually to perform the Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca wearing simple white cloth, leaving behind the comforts of their homes for a brief period.
By forgoing their lifestyles, their only focus is to pray to God as his humble servant and ask for his forgiveness and mercy.
However, with the change of times the surroundings of the Grand Mosque have changed with the appearance of five-star luxury hotels and shopping malls.
These malls offer the material items people crave to have at a time when Muslims are expected to forgo life's luxuries and pleasures.
But in the modern 21st century, few can ignore the need for consumer items, regardless of the location.

Visit al-m.ca/zakat for a paper on this topic
- Discussing the concept of zakat, especially in relation to khums
- Zakat is included in the Furu\'-e-Din, one of the core tenets of Islam
- It\'s occured 32 times in the Qur\'an, 27 of which are alongside salat
- Important to note that the frequency of occurence does not mean one item is more important than others; Hajj and fasting were only mentioned once!
- The importance of understanding the Qur\'an, and the meaning behind the word \'zakat\', whether it means the technical term, or a general term of charity
- Observing the context of various verses, and when they were revealed in relation to the Prophet
- Looking at examples in the Qur\'an, especially the famous incident with Imam Ali and his ring
- Looking at verses from Sura Maryam, quoting Prophet Isa regarding zakat
- Allah\'s interchangeable use of the words \'sadqa\' and \'zakat\' in various places
- Listing the items upon which Zakat is wajib
- What is the basis of this list?
- Narrating various ahadith regarding this wajib items list
- Looking at other ahadith which counter the above ones
- Let us not exercise the ijtihad of ignorance in religious matters and not impose our views on the views of the Prophet and his Ahlul Bayt
- Remember: sawm + zakatul fitr. If this is not paid, fasting is not complete and not accepted. Similarly, salat + salawat on Muhammad & Al-e Muhammad. If this salawat is not part of the salat, then the salat is not a salat!

FRIENDS - LET THIS not come as a surprise to you. This is the reality of the world where, according to U.N. estimates, one billion people in the world daily suffer from hunger and malnutrition, and their situation is not getting any better. About 24000 people die every day from hunger or hunger related causes. Three-fourths of the deaths are children under the age of five. -- HOW YOU CAN HELP - Don't waste natural resources. Be thankful to God for His gifts and blessings. Be mindful of your responsibility toward other human beings. Think about what the Prophet -pbuh- would do. Have mercy and compassion toward all humankind. Next time you spend money on those unnecessary luxuries of your life think for a moment about the plight of the poor and oppressed around the world. Be aware of the materialistic forces and the contradictions of the dominant economic systems that are at the roots of global inequality. Don't become a part of this system. Don't become a slave of consumerism and endless materialistic rat-race -- Among other things join a local organization that is working against structural and subtle forms of oppression like hunger, poverty, illiteracy, domestic violence, anorexia and bulimia and their connection to media, mass entertainment, perfect body images, etc. If there isn't any - start one today! -- You can also look into doing online activism. Check out moveon.org's work for ideas. Some online organizations also invite web surfers to click on their sites regularly. They say every click earns them revenue to support their causes. The Hunger Site is an example. Some may also invite you to buy their T-shirts and other souvenirs. I guess you can buy these items if you think they can help spread the word and encourage people to join a good cause. Otherwise in general more shopping and more consumption cannot be a solution to human suffering. And its not a good idea to sell consumers to products through clicks or ads. That feeds into the same loop of consumerism. My suggestion - Adopt Simplicity and Donate directly! And encourage others to do the same! - Lastly remember the advice IMAM ALI gave in his LAST WILL ---- MY ADVICE to you is to be conscious of Allah and steadfast in your religion. Do not yearn for the world and do not be seduced by it. Do not resent anything you have missed in it. Proclaim the truth - work for the next world. Oppose the oppressor and support the oppressed.---- Become a friend and supporter of the oppressed people and an enemy of the oppressors and all forms of oppression!

Friends, let this not come as a surprise to you. This is the reality we are living in where it is ‘estimated that one billion people in the world suffer from hunger and malnutrition. That’s roughly 100 times as many as those who actually die from these causes each year. About 24,000 people die every day from hunger or hunger related causes… Three-fourths of the deaths are children under the age of five.’
--HOW YOU CAN HELP --
Don’t waste natural resources. Be thankful to God for His gifts and blessings. Be mindful of your responsibility toward other human beings. Think about what the Prophet (saws) would do. Have mercy and compassion toward all humankind. Next time you spend money on those unnecessary luxuries of your life, think for a moment about the plight of the poor and oppressed around the world. Be aware of the materialistic forces and the contradictions of the dominant economic systems that are at the roots of global inequality. Don’t become a part of this system. Don’t become a slave of consumerism and endless materialistic competition.
Understand that it is not enough to just keep yourself from engaging in consumerism. It's not always easy to protect yourself and your family against the multi-billion dollar industry of marketing. Join forces with other like-minded people. Strengthen your communities that can serve as a buffer against corporations. Engage in collective action. Transform people's consciousness and hyper-consumeristic lifestyles. Among other things, join a local organization that is working against subtle forms of oppression, like hunger, poverty, illiteracy, domestic violence, anorexia and bulimia, perfect body images, and endless materialistic competition. If there isn’t any, start one today!

The US Role in Haiti-s Food RiotsAs people around the world continue to protest the soaring prices of basic food items the World Food Program has described the crisis as a silent tsunami. The head of the Food and Agriculture Organization blamed the current global food crisis on -inappropriate- policy decisions over the past two decades. Nowhere is this more clear than in Haiti where hungry people are rioting in the streets because they cannot afford to buy rice. Haiti imports most of its rice from the United States which in turn remains heavily subsidized. We speak with human rights lawyer Bill Quigley.

This is a ‘meccan’ surah.
Ghashiyah means that which overshadows or overwhelms-a terrible thing or event which makes people lose their senses. The “day of Judgement” is indicated as an event when all that which we have seen and experienced in the life of this world will be lost and the only reality before us will be the process of reckoning. It is narrated from the Holy Prophet (saw) that the one who recites this surah will not face difficulty in the accounting of deeds on the “Day of Judgement” and ALLAH (swt) will show Mercy to him/her and save him/her from Jahannam. Reciting this surah near a baby removes fright from him/her and stops his/her crying. Imam Ali (as) has said that if this surah is recited over a paining part of the body, the pain will go away and if recited over food items, it removes any bad effects of that food.

The G8 summit of world leaders ended with the usual positive statements about so-called progress on the main agenda items such as the conflict in Syria and a US/EU trade deal.
But Russia blocked a joint G8 statement which would have called for President Assad to step down.
President Putin also made it clear that a political solution is the only way to stop the conflict and that the Western plan to arm the rebels would only pour fuel on the fire.
The G8 summit received a mixed reception in northern Ireland itself. Some viewed it as a positive sign of progress in a part of the world which has been blighted by sectarian violence.
Others felt that the G8 leaders were war criminals and an international financial mafia governing on behalf of the rich and powerful.
Like northern Ireland itself, views were sharply polarized.
The conflict in Syria is very unlikely to be solved by this summit. Despite a joint statement on Syria it\'s clear that the major world powers have major disagreements on this issue. And we also must remember that the G8 has a reputation of fine words that later do not translate into reality.
