Afghanistan is grappling with serious economic and social woes over a decade after a US led invasion of the country. The government has also been criticized for failing to deal with these problems. The economic plight has forced a large number of Afghan children to work on the streets to try to feed their families. Kabul has a population of around six million people. Among them are around 600,000 street children who live in tough conditions. Most of them belong to fatherless families. These families depend on their children to try to find a way to survive. Umar is one of those children who have to work. A US night time air raid on their village in Kapisa province left Umar\\\'s father dead. Soon after the family lost its breadwinner, Umar left his village for Kabul. Now he lives with his uncle\\\'s family. But as his uncle is a simple shoe maker, Umer has to work too. For Umar it\\\'s a constant struggle to feed himself and send some money back to his family in Kapisa every month. Afghan president Hamid Karzai expressed his concern about the living conditions of street children in a recent address on the Afghan National Radio. Karzai asked International organizations including UNICEF to pay more attention to the issue. But some experts are pointing the finger at the afghan government and western countries for failing to do much. Today\\\'s children are the men of Afghanistan\\\'s future. But what many afghans are asking is how these poor street children who are not receiving any education will play a positive role in Afghanistan\\\'s future.

دیدار خانواده‌های شهدا و ایثارگران كرمانشاه با رهبر انقلاب http://farsi.khamenei.ir/news-content?id=17521 در دومين روز از سفر رهبر انقلاب اسلامی به كرمانشاه، صبح روز 21 مهر 1390، خانواده‌های معظم شهداء، ايثارگران و جانبازان در فضايی معطر به عطر شهداء و ياد و خاطره جان‌فشانی آنان، با حضرت آيت‌الله خامنه‌ای ديدار كردند. رهبر انقلاب اسلامی در اين مراسم، ديدار با خانواده‌های شهداء، ايثارگران و جانبازان را يكی از باعظمت‌ترين ديدارها خواندند و تأكيد كردند: روحيه ايثارگری نجات بخش يك كشور و ملت است و هيچ جامعه‌ای بدون روحيه ايثارگری به عزت و عظمت نخواهد رسيد. حضرت آيت‌الله خامنه‌ای با تأكيد بر اينكه يكی از ابعاد و جهات روحيه ايثارگرانه، شناخت نياز لحظه و عمل به وظيفه است، افزودند: كيميای هوشمندی و موقعيت‌شناسی شهداء و ايثارگران، نقطه برجسته‌ای است كه بعنوان يك درس بزرگ، همواره مورد نياز كشور است. ايشان بروز غفلت در جامعه و تشخيص ندادن نياز لحظه را نتيجه استفاده نكردن از ظرفيت عظيم مردم دانستند و خاطرنشان كردند: حصار مستحكم در دفاع از هويت و عزت يك ملت و نجات كشور از توطئه ها، در گرو آگاهی مردم و نقش دادن آگاهانه به آنان است. رهبر انقلاب اسلامی تأكيد كردند: نظام ايران، جمهوری اسلامی بمعنای مردم‌سالاری اسلامی است كه لازمه آن نقش‌آفرينی واقعی مردم در همه عرصه ها و استفاده غير صوری از ظرفيت مردم است. حضرت آيت‌الله خامنه‌ای با تجليل از صبر و بصيرت خانواده‌های شهداء، ايثارگران و جانبازان، خاطرنشان كردند: صبر و بصيرت يگانه عامل رسيدن به قله‌ها است و اگر ملتی دارای اين دو ويژگی ممتاز بود، قطعاً در تشخيص هدف‌ها و مسير رسيدن به اين هدف‌ها دچار ترديد و سردرگمی نخواهد شد. ايشان با يادآوری نگاه بصير و نافذ امام راحل(ره) افزودند: هنگامی كه همه چيز در ظاهر نااميد كننده و غير قابل دست‌يافتنی بود، امام بزرگوار(ره) سخن از اميد و پيشرفت و موفقيت می‌گفتند و در نهايت هم، همه ناباورانه، شاهد تحقق اين سخنان بودند. رهبر انقلاب اسلامی با اشاره به پيچيده‌تر شدن تحولات و مسائل، هوشمندی و وظيفه‌شناسيِ بهنگامِ نياز را بسيار ضروری خواندند و تأكيد كردند: به لطف خداوند امروز هوشمندی مردم متعهد، مؤمن و معتقد ايران و پايبندی آنان به آرمان‌ها بسيار زياد است. http://english.khamenei.ir//index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1538&Itemid=2 On the second day of his trip to Kermanshah province, Ayatollah Khamenei the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution met with families of martyrs and disabled war veterans.
