Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei narrates and explains a tradition narrated from the Messenger of Allah (S), the holy Prophet Muhammad (S), where his eminence (S) tells us all, \"Don\'t Go Searching For the Secrets of Others\".
Is it possible to have submitted to Islam by tongue, but still have faith and Eman not penetrate into one\'s heart and soul?
What is a prerequisite of true pure faith in Allah?
And what all includes one not searching for others\' faults and secrets?
What happens when one starts to look for and search out the hidden faults of others?
And is it possible that Allah will try to search out and look for the hidden faults of a person?
What would happen to a person if Allah found it necessary to look for and search out the hidden faults of a person?
Finally, as true believers and Mo\'mineen, why are we told, \"Don\'t Go Searching For the Secrets of Others\"?
Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei expounds upon the wise words of the Messenger of Allah (S), the holy Prophet Muhammad (S), where his eminence (S) says to the true believers \"Don\'t Go Searching For the Secrets of Others\".

Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei narrates and explains a tradition narrated from the 1st divinely appointed Imam (A), Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (A), where his eminence (A) tells us all, \"Don\'t Place Yourself Under the Target of Slander\".
It is true that the Ahlul Bayt (A) have commanded us to think positive about our religious brothers and sisters; yet is there something that we might do which undermines this?
What are some of the ways in which we place ourselves under the target of slander, which is known in Arabic as Tohmah?
Who is in control when we keep our secrets to ourselves?
And is the safekeeping of secrets merely limited to our own individual lives?
Is not placing oneself under the target of slander limited to the common people, or are even religious scholars included in this statement?
Finally, as true believers and Mo\'mineen, why are we told, \"Don\'t Place Yourself Under the Target of Slander\"?

\\\"Reach the Peak\\\" as we delve deeply into the beautiful pages of Nahjul Balagha and the wise words of the Commander of the Faithful, the first divinely appointed Imam, Imam Ali ibne Abi Talib (A).
In this episode, Sayyid Amir Behbahani speaks to us about how we are told, \\\"Don\\\'\\\'t Disclose Your Harships\\\".
Yet, what is the second piece of advice of Imam Ali (A) in the second Hikmah of Nahjul Balagha?
And what does Imam Ali (A) say about one\\\'s honor and reputation?
How is this second Hikmah related to Hikmah number 289 of Nahjul Balagha?
Finally, what are some of the characteristics that Imam Ali (A) lists about one of his companions that he praises and says we should inculcate in ourselves?
If you ultimately want to \\\"Reach the Peak\\\", you\\\'re going to have to take the first step - wherever you are!

Why Don\'t We Mourn the Other Imams (A), Like Imam Husayn (A)? | Ayatollah Misbah-Yazdi
How is the life of Imam Husayn (A) different from that of the other Aimmah (A)?
And what did Allah â the Exalted â destine for Sayyid al-Shuhada (A)?
Furthermore, which of the Aimmah (A) experienced the most distressing calamities after Sayyid al-Shuhada (A)?
Besides, what is the special feature of Imam Husayn (A) in regards to the Day of Judgment?
And finally, why arenât such mourning ceremonies held for the other Aimmah â peace be upon them all?

When Allah loves somebody, what does He do to them as regards to the pleasures of the world?
And why does Allah state in the holy Qur\'an that He will endow the good and righteous with blessings, joy, bliss, and pleasures in the Hereafter?
Can the joys and pleasures of this transient world be compared to the pleasures and joy of the Hereafter?
And when you think about the best days of your life, how long did it really last, especially now that it is long gone?
What is the relationship between Taklif (duty) and Takamul (perfection)?
And what is the relationship between acting on one\'s duty and Taklif, and the spiritual progress that one makes on their journey towards Allah?
Finally, what points are necessary to know if we want to be among those who \"Don\'t Trade The Joys of the Hereafter\"?
The late Ayatollah Misbah-Yazdi (R) provides us with a short, but profound lesson on the basics of loving Allah.

Do you have problems Donât come to Arbaeen!
Agha AliReza Panahian
We should pay attention to what God is expecting in these calm and quiet tests. Some of the tests are with a great commotion, and they clarify our duty. Some of the tests are very quiet. A person may be deceived and suddenly lose opportunities.
In many cases, the tests for reaching to the highest degrees of closeness to God, are very delicate and quiet. The people of Kufa said, âWhat should we do now? What will happen? We canât leave Imam Husayn (âa) alone. We invited him ourselves. Letâs wait until he comes.â Then they realized that Imam Husayn (âa) wonât come. Hurr and his troops had stopped them. And Ubaydullah was preparing an army.
They were thinking about what to do. People like Sulayman bin Surad were thinking. Then suddenly what happened? They brought the pure heads into the city. They blamed themselves, âWe didnât know such a tragedy would come about!â
Thousands of people formed the Tawwabin (repenters) uprising. All of them knew that they were going to be killed, and they were killed. There was no use for what they did in history, and they didnât gain the advantage of being in Karbala or Ashura either.
What? You expected Imam Husayn (âa) to pass through Hurrâs blockade himself, come into the city of Kufa, nock on your doors one by one, and say, âCome help me. They want to cut my head off. If you donât come, this and that will happen.â What explanation did you expect from Imam Husayn (âa) for you to come?
Believe me, Arbaeen is one of the quiet tests. Some of the tests are very quiet. A person may be deceived and suddenly lose opportunities. Believe me, Arbaeen is one of the quiet tests. Arbaeen seems noisy, but itâs also quiet, because one might think, âIs it obligatory for me to struggle for Arbaeen?â I donât know. What should I say? During these analyses, some lose this great opportunity. During these analyses, some lost the opportunity of helping Husayn (âa).
But, there was one person sitting in Imam Husaynâs (\'a) meeting on the night before Ashura. People informed him, âThe cursed Ubaydullah has arrested your son.â Being arrested at that time meant being executed. They had to rescue him somehow. Imam Husayn (âa) looked at the father and said, âGo save your son. I donât want you to be here when you have this problem.â
The Imam gave him some money and supplies and said, âUse these to gain your son\'s freedom.â If you have problems, donât come to Arbaeen. If you were in Imam Husaynâs (\'a) tent on the night of Ashura, he would have said, âGo fix your problems.â Even if you were there on the night of Ashura!
What did that father do? He looked at AliAkbar, the Imamâs son, and at the Imam (âa). He said, âYour young son is going to be martyred here tomorrow. Now I should go after my own son? May my son be sacrificed for your son!â He started pleading, âDonât drive me out of your tent because of this. I donât want to go after my problems. I want to be for you!â He pleaded so much that the Imam (âa) said, âFine, stay.â
The tests are not always noisy or clear in clarifying our duties! Some opportunities come and go quickly like lightning. Some opportunities donât shake you and say, âWake up. Get up. Move!â They donât seize you by the collar. A person asks, âI have some jobs to do. There is Arbaeen too. I donât know if I should leave my work, or not.â
I say, âI donât know. What should I say?!â I tell them I donât know. If it was Imam Husayn (âa), he would say, âGo, for sure. Go do your work my dear.â How much did you want to spend for Arbaeen? And you say youâre waiting for your Imam (âa.j.) to reappear for you to rescue the world with him?! You didnât spend that much for the dignity of Aba Abdillah al-Husaynâs (âs) gathering in Karbala in the Arbaeen meeting place. You are waiting for the Imam (âa.j.) to come for you to give your life? We consider Arbaeen to be a quiet test.

[Clip] If we donât consider the reappearance to be close | Agha Ali Reza Panahian Nov.06,2019 Farsi sub English
If we donât consider the reappearance to be closeâŠ
If all of us were hoping that Imam Mahdi (âa.j.) will come next week, did you know that the Imam would have really come? âIf...
If we donât consider the reappearance to be closeâŠ
If all of us were hoping that Imam Mahdi (âa.j.) will come next week, did you know that the Imam would have really come? âIf you make people hopeful that the Imam will come next week, but the Imam doesnât come, wonât people become irreligious?â
Is the reappearance truly close? Should we consider the reappearance to be close? I have to tell a story first, and then answer this question.
Prophet Noah (âa) was a prophet for 950 years. The nation had been promised, âOne day you will be rescued.â They were waiting for relief. They asked God for it. God replied, âTell your friends, âSeven years from now the relief will come. Be ready.ââ They became so happy and in a good mood! âSeven years from now the unbelievers will be destroyed and we will finally be rescued!â
These seven years finished. They passed these seven years with enthusiasm. Relief? God, the sky is silent. Relief! God said, âNoah, it has been postponed for seven more years.â Noah told his companions, âGod changed His decision; itâs âBidaâ.ââ They looked at each other, âItâs only seven years. We waited for 950 years. Weâll wait a total of 14 years.â
After the second seven years, some peopleâs belief was shaking. âGod this time wonât be like the previous time! Please donât let us lose our reputation.â After seven years, âNoah, seven more years.â âHow can I tell this to them?!â âSay it just like this! Say, âSeven more years.ââ Noah told people, âSeven more years.â Some lost their belief and said, âItâs a hoax.â âGod, how many were we from the beginning, and now some have left?! Is this the right way?! Whatever You say. But, this third seven years...â
After the third seven years God said, âNoah, seven more years.â Half of them left. The fourth seven years. âGod, I donât know how to talk to You. What should I say?â The fifth seven years. Seven more years. Very few remained. They said, âYouâre making fun of us. If you hadnât promised, we were waiting just like this!â
The sixth seven years. âGod no one is left.â âSeven more years.â Noah announced this. I donât know how many were left. But, those who were left had passed through the filters. They said, âFine.â No one left anymore. Relief came.
Now, I have told my story. What was the question? âIf you make people hopeful and the Imam doesnât come, theyâll become irreligious.â Fine! We didnât promise. We increased hope and it didnât come. Even if we had promised from God and it didnât come, their belief shouldnât have shook. This is called âBidaâ.â
âBidaââ is in our principles of faith, and we donât talk about it very much. Imam Sadiq (âa) said, âIf you knew how valuable it is to believe in âBidaâ,â you would have talked about it every day.â God changes His decisions to test His servants.
We have another tradition too. God told a nation, âIn 20 months, relief will come for you.â That nation was in captivity with their prophet. After that period, a message came that it had been postponed. That prophet informed his nation. With no exception, all of them said, âItâs fine! Whatever God says.â Relief came two days later. âGod, You said longer. It was only 20 months. What happened?!â âI saw that their belief didnât decrease. I respected their good thoughts and trust and brought relief right away.â
Why have they told us these stories?! Looks like they care about our spiritual mood. Right? They care about how we feel and about our belief. Do you know why the martyrs of Karbala were valuable? Do you know what Imam Husayn (âa) did to them on the night of Ashura?
The Imam (âa) said, âDonât have hope that you can rescue me. I will make you hopeless about life; whoever stays here, will be martyred. I will be martyred too.â He didnât leave even a little hope in their hearts for relief, even a little hope for divine help, even in appearances. Their hearts didnât tremble even a little.
Despair really makes people despondent. Whoever stayed hopeful, good for them! If someone comes and firmly tells a believer, âThis revolution definitely wonât remain till the reappearance. All of you will be destroyed,â and this person doesnât lose his hope, this is very hard. We are certain about what Imam Khomeini said, âThis revolution will remain till the reappearance.â This is one of the certainties in Imam Khomeiniâs words. We are certain, but we arenât that hopeful. What will happen if someone makes us hopeless?!
Looks like they care about our spiritual mood. Right? They care about how we feel and about our belief.

Donât have self-confidence!
We have âself-confidenceâ in our terminology. But, there is no such thing as self-confidence in the religious texts. People tell us, âHave self-confidence.â What do they mean? They mean you should have spiritual power and strength, so that you can make decisions firmly and take action firmly. Stand by what you say. Donât be shaky. This is what they mean by self-confidence. But, in Islam, the Qurâan, and discussions about the traditions and religion there is no talk about self-confidence at all.
When we say self-confidence, do we mean spiritual power and strength? God says, âYes, having spiritual power and strength is a good thing. But, why do you want to gain it through self-confidence? This is very wrong.â We say, âSo how should we gain this spiritual power and strength?â God says, âBy trusting in Me! Why trust in yourself?!â
There is a wrong term, which people often use. Itâs self-confidence. It is very wrong. An ignorant person trusts in himself. I have all these weaknesses. As the Qurâan says, I am âunjust and ignorant.â (Qurâan 33:73) I am so ignorant. How can I trust in myself? âBut, youâll become unsteady.â âNo, not at all.â So if you donât have confidence in yourself, where have you gained this strength?â âI trusted in God.â
A child doesnât have self-confidence. He trusts in his parents. He is even calmer than we are. Ayatollah Bahjat used to say, âChildren are never worried about tomorrowâs food.â Because they say, âMom will provide it. Whatâre you saying? Dad will provide it.â He has no doubt that his parents will provide food. A child doesnât have self-confidence. That is why he strongly trusts in his parents. He is constantly connected to his parents and wonât let go of them.
Have you seen a child in a gathering sitting and playing next to his parents? The parents get up to go somewhere, and the child starts screaming, âDonât go. Sit down!â They say, âIâll come back.â âNo! If you go, I canât count on your coming back. I have to be with you.â Whoever hugs him, he wonât listen at all.
We should scream in the same way if we move away from God. How does a child depend on his parents and stay calm? Weâre supposed to trust in God in this same way and find peace. We want to cut our ties with God and stand on our own feet. God says, âOk, go ahead. Poor person, you are âunjust and ignorant.â Every moment you are unjust to yourself. You are acting ignorantly every moment.â
âWonât our self-confidence be ruined when you call us, âunjust and ignorant?â You say that we are so ignorant and unjust.â âYes, your self-confidence will be ruined. Are you supposed to have self-confidence?â âSir, if a person doesnât have self-confidence, heâll become unsteady and weak.â âCompensate your shakiness and weakness with God!â
There is a wrong term, which people often use. Itâs self-confidence. Itâs very wrong. A child doesnât have self-confidence. That is why he strongly trusts in his parents. He is constantly connected to his parents and wonât let go of them. Weâre supposed to trust in God in this same way and find peace. Trust in God!

Aba al-Fazl (as) came to say goodbye to Husayn (as). My I be sacrificed for how youâre crying. How did Husayn (as) use to show his affection to Abbas (as)? When calling him, Husayn (as) used to say, âMay I be sacrificed for you.â He loved him very much. I donât know how Zaynab (as) used to call Abbas (as). These were their private conversations. Imam Husayn, his Imam, said, âMay I be sacrificed for you.â Zaynab was his sister and sisters are more compassionate, tender-hearted and loving. She was a sister and full of affection.
For example, consider when they were on the way. It was Godâs mercy that detailed memories of this caravan while travelling to Karbala have not been recorded. [Itâs as if they say,] âWhy do you want to know?â For example, they havenât recorded Zaynab saying, âMy Abbas, get Ali Asghar. Hug Ruqayya for a minute.â I want to say, âO Aba al-Fazl, donât go into the battlefield. Donât go. I plead you.â
Abbas came to say goodbye. Husayn (as) said, âDo you want to leave Husayn alone?â Alas for Abbasâs sorrows and sufferings. O Abbas, go and see what you can do for Husayn (as). You will have to become a martyr. But at least bring this waterskin back with some water so that you can relieve your sorrow a little by doing this. Abbas had so much hope and picked up that waterskin so confidently that the children felt less thirsty. They told each other, âOur uncle is going to bring water.â âDid you see how our uncle picked up the waterskin?! Thatâs it. Rabab, hold onto Ali Asghar. Water is coming. The way our uncle picked up the waterskin shows that weâll have water soon.â When the enemies would beat Husaynâs children while traveling to Damascus, they would call for their uncle! How could they tell the children that their uncle would not return anymore?! He picked up the waterskin so confidently that everyone thought the same.
Abbas (as) expected the same. There is a sentence in history books that shows Aba al-Fazl was surprised himself too. When his hands were cut off, he didnât care. But as soon as an arrow struck his waterskin, it is said that Abbas stood still. O Abbas, you didnât expect this? It was then that he begged God to take him [due to his shame].
