His remarks came after a one-hundred- sixteen member French delegation traveled to Iran for commercial opportunities. Among the group are multi-national companies such as Total, Lafarge and Peugeot. The delegation arrived in Tehran less than two weeks after the recent easing of sanctions against Iran.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad received in Damascus an Iranian delegation headed by top Iranian lawmaker Alaedin Boroujerdi.The Syrian president underlined the necessity of cooperation among regional countries to deal with the menace of terrorism and extremism. He also noted the importance of coordination among parliaments in a way that unites stances in fighting the Wahhabi ideology. Boroujerdi, on his part, asserted that only the Syrians have the right to determine their future. The Iranian parliamentary delegation also met with Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi. The two sides discussed bilateral economic ties and means to boost it further.Boroujerdi, in a separate meeting with foreign minister Waleed al-Moallem, exchanged views on Geneva 2 peace conference.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov arrives in Tehran at the head of a high-level delegation for talks with senior Iranian officials. The Russian top diplomat is scheduled to hold talks with Iran\'s President Hassan Rouhani as well as his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif. Bilateral and regional issues especially the situation in Syria and the planned Geneva-2 conference are among the issues both sides will discuss during their meetings. This is Lavrov\'s first official visit to Tehran since the inauguration of Iran\'s new government back in August. He has held several meetings with the Iranian foreign minister on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting and also Geneva meetings on Iran\'s nuclear program.

[09 July 2012] Iran and Armenia strengthen ties - English Iran's Minister of Interior with a high ranking delegation composed of two Governor Generals and other high ranking officials in various fields including security and economy arrived in Yerevan for a two day visit. Iran's Minister of Interior is scheduled to meet high ranking Armenian officials in his visit, including the country's President, Serzh Sargsyan National Assembly Chairman, and ministers.
