Israel says it\'s carried out a second successful test of its upgraded Arrow missile system.
The test, carried out over the Mediterranean, was the second flight of the missile system. But it did not intercept any target. Israel deployed the previous version, named Arrow Two, more than a decade ago. Tel Aviv says it has scored an almost 90-percent success rate in live trials. Israeli officials have predicted that Arrow Three could be deployed by next year. The Pentagon and US firm Boeing are partners in the project. Arrow is the long-range part in Israel\'s three-layer missile systems that include the so-called Iron Dome and David\'s Sling.

The heart-shattering tragedy of Ali Asghar - Imam Husayn (A)’s 6-month old baby - whose tiny neck was pierced with a three-pronged arrow on the day of Ashura. Yazid’s brutal army had denied Imam Husayn’s camp of water for three days in the burning heat of the desert of Karbala. Imam Husayn (A) approached the army with his baby boy in his arms while the child was dying of thirst. Perhaps the men would show mercy. Perhaps they would quench this child’s thirst…
What crime did Ali Asghar commit?
Sayyid Haydar Hasanayn narrates this tragic event which highlights clearly for those who are confused; who was on the side of truth, Islam and humanity and who was on the side of oppression, injustice and tyranny…

Eid-E-Zehra or Eid-E-Shuja Celebration (Eid-E-Zahra):
The extraordinary two-month period of Azadari (mourning) reaches its climax with the death of our 11th Imam, Imam Hassan Askari (as) on the 8th of Rabi al-Awwal. The day that follows, according to tradition, is the greatest Eid (celebration) for the lovers of the Ahlul Bayt (as). Known as Eid-E-Zehra, this day honours the daughter of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) as a day of great joy and happiness for the believers.
One of the important things that we mark is the first official day of the leadership of our living Imam, al-Hujjat ibn Hassan al-Askari [may Allah (SWT) hasten his return]. As narrated in our Duas, Ziyaraat and traditions, the return of our 12th Imam will mark the revenge of the blood spilled in Karbala.
It is with this important event that we celebrate Eid-E-Zahra and sincerely ask Allah (SWT) to hasten the return of His final proof. Through the justice that the Imam will show, this day will truly be marked as the day of Eid for Fatima al-Zahra (sa) and all her true followers.
Four Historical Events of this Day of 9th Rabi al-Awwal:
Narrators of history suggest four historic events which mark the day of 9th Rabi al-Awwal as significant. Firstly, some historians are of the opinion that the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was born on the 9th of Rabi al-Awwal. There are two other opinions: 12th Rabi al-Awwal and 17th Rabi al-Awwal respectively. For the Shia\\\'s, the most popular narration is the one which states that the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was born on the 17th Rabi al-Awwal 570 AD.
Whatever the case, the date does not make a big difference. Because Ayatullah Ruhullah Musawi al-Khomeini (ra), the founder of the Islamic revolution had declared the week between 9th and 17th Rabi al-Awwal as \\\"Usboo al-Wahda\\\" meaning \\\"the week of unity amongst Muslims.\\\" Muslims all over the world are urged to get together and celebrate (Eid-E-Milad un Nabi) the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) for the whole week.
Secondly, in regards to the importance of this day, it is noted that the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) himself was seen smiling and \\\'celebrating\\\' once in the gathering in the city of Madinah on this day while in the presence of Imams Ali, Imam Hassan and Imam Hussain (as) and said, \\\"It is on this day that Allah (SWT) will destroy your enemies and the enemies of your grandfather and it is on this day when Allah (SWT) will accept the actions of your Shia and those who love you. This is the day when the words of Allah (SWT) came true where He said (in the Glorious Qur\\\'an): \\\'So those are the houses fallen down because they were unjust ...\\\' (27:52). And this is the day when the Pharaoh (Firawn) of the time of the Ahlul Bayt was destroyed ...\\\"
Thirdly, the 9th of Rabi al-Awwal is also known as Eid-E-Zahra meaning the festival of Fatima al-Zahra (sa), because 3 to 4 years after the tragedy of Karbala, it was on this day that joy and happiness was restored in the family of Ahlul Bayt (as). From the tragedy of Karbala in 61 AH till this day, the family members of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) had continuously mourned and grieved the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (as).
Then Mukhtar ibn Ubaydullah al-Thaqafi, together with Ibrahim ibn Malik al-Ashtar and others rose to avenge the blood of Imam Hussain (as). They arrested every killer of karbala and executed them. Finally, Mukhtar arrested Umar ibn Saad ibn abi Waqqas (commander-in-chief of Yazeed\\\'s army at Karbala) and Ubaydullah ibn Ziyad (governor of Yazeed in Kufa). He beheaded them and sent their heads to Imam Ali ibn al-Hussain al-Zainul Abideen (as) in Madina. These two heads reached the Imam Ali ibn al-Hussain al-Zainul Abideen (as) on the 9th Rabi al-Awwal and on seeing them, Imam (as) went into prostration (Sajda-E-Shukr) and said, \\\"I thank Allah (SWT) who kept me alive to this day so that I could see the heads of the tyrants who killed my father.\\\" Imam Ali ibn al-Hussain al-Zainul Abideen (as) then instructed the members of his family to remove the clothes of mourning, adorn themselves and celebrate the day with joy and happiness.
Umar ibn Saad ibn abi Waqqas (la), the killer of Imam Hussain (as) was the wretched criminal who was the first one to shoot an arrow towards Imam Hussain (as) on the 9th of Muharram al-Haram 61 AH, thus formally starting the war against Imam Hussain (as)! And he proclaimed, \\\"O people of Kufa and Shaam, be witness hereto on the Day of Judgment, that I am the one who is the first to shoot an arrow at Hussain\\\"! And saying this, he shot the arrow! Later, Imam Hussain (as) told them [the army of Yezeed whose commander-in-chief was this Umar ibn Saad ibn abi Waqqas (la)] after delivering an eye-opening Khutbah (sermon), that he needs to have a night for prayers!
Mukhtar ibn Ubaydullah al-Thaqafi announced the aims of his revolution in Masjid-E-Kufa, \\\"I will conform to Allah\\\'s Book and to His Prophet\\\'s Sunnah. I will take the revenge on Imam Hussain\\\'s killers. I will fight against those who have broken Allah\\\'s laws. I will defend the weak against the strong.\\\" It is only the lucky ones who have the opportunity to celebrate this Eid! This was the day; when for the first time after the massacre of his father Imam Hussain (as) and his companions that our 4th Imam, Imam Ali ibn al-Hussain al-Zainul Abideen (as) smiled! Is this not enough an excuse to celebrate? For, our joys are with the joys of Masoomeen (infallible) and our grief and sorrows are for them alone!
Hence, 9th of Rabi al-Awwal is the day of glory, honour, dignity and blessings. It is a great Eid day also named as \\\"Eid-E-Shuja.\\\"
Fourth or finally, 9th Rabi al-Awwal is the first day of the Imamate of our living Imam, al-Hujjat ibn Hassan al-Askari [may Allah (SWT) hasten his return] - a day of rejoicing and celebration.
It is true that an Imam is an Imam from birth but every Imam assumed the official role of his Imamate after the death of the previous Imam. The reason why we celebrate, in particular, the Imamate of our living Imam, al-Hujjat ibn Hassan al-Askari [may Allah (SWT) hasten his return] is to perhaps remind ourselves of his presence and about our responsibilities towards him. His father and our 11th Imam, Imam Hassan Askari (as) passed away on the 8th of Rabi al-Awwal 260 AH and our 12th Imam Muhammad al-Mahdi [may Allah (SWT) hasten his return] assumed his Imamate formally at a young age of 5 years on the 9th Rabi al-Awwal 260 AH.
We pray to Allah (SWT) to keep us firm on His path, and to always protect us from negligence in discharging our duties towards Him and our living Imam Muhammad al-Mahdi [may Allah (SWT) hasten his return], and to also include us among the Imam Muhammad al-Mahdi [may Allah (SWT) hasten his return] helpers and companions - Elahi Ameen.
One of the ways which we can strive to be amongst the companions of our living Imam Muhammad al-Mahdi [may Allah (SWT) hasten his return] is to follow the responsibilities which rest upon us, including the recitation of Dua al-Ahd (the Pledge) every morning in which we proclaim: \\\"O\\\' Allah, truly I renew on the dawn of this day and all the days of the remainder of my life my pledge, covenant and allegiance to him, as my obligation, which I shall neither contravene, nor neglect ... O\\\' Allah include me among his helpers, defenders, those fulfilling his wishes and commands, his defenders, the fore-runners to carry out his intentions and those to be martyred in his presence ... O\\\' Allah: make him the refuge for Your oppressed servants; a helper for him who has no other helper besides You; the reviver of the commandments of Your book which have been neglected; the strengthener of the sciences in Your religion, and the traditions of Your Prophet. May Allah\\\'s blessing be upon him and his progeny.\\\"
Hadith about Imam Muhammad al-Mahdi [may Allah (SWT) hasten his return]:\\\"The world will not come to an end,\\\" said the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), \\\"until a man from my family (Ahlul Bayt) and of my name shall be master of the world, When you see a green ensign coming from the direction of Khorasan, then join them, for the Imam of God will be with the standards who will be called Al-Mahdi.\\\"
Last but not least: Ahmad ibn Ishaq al-Qummi was a great companion of our 11th Imam, Imam Hassan Askari (as). On the 9th Rabi al-Awwal, Muhammad Hamadani and Yahya Baghdadi came to visit him and were informed that Ahmad ibn Ishaq al-Qummi was busy performing Ghusl (Ablution) for that day. When they inquired what the Ghusl was about, they were told that Ahmad ibn Ishaq al-Qummi had heard from 10th Imam, Imam Hadi (as), who said: \\\"9th of Rabi al-Awwal is the day of Eid. It is our greatest Eid and the Eid of our followers.\\\"
After performing his Ghusl Ahmad ibn Ishaq al-Qummi said to the two visiting men: \\\"I have performed Ghusl because today is the Eid of 9th Rabi al-Awwal. I visited Imam Hassan Askari (as) on this day and noticed that his ring was shinning. The people of his household wore new clothes and had applied perfume. When I asked the reason, Imam Hassan Askari (as) said, \\\'Today is 9th Rabi al-Awwal. It is the day of Eid for us and for our followers\\\'\\\". (Chauda Sitaare)

Recommended Acts on the day of Eid-E-Zehra (Eid-E-Zahra) or Eid-E-Shuja:
On the 9th of Rabi al-Awwal, it is highly recommended to:
Perform Ghusl (Ablution).
Wear new clothes.
Apply perfume.
Hold gatherings to praise Allah (SWT), His Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and the Ahlul Bayt (as).

A Noha about various martyrs of Karbala
Noha Lyrics:
Chorus:
Father of young Ruqayya; Akber, Asghar and Sajjad
Brother to al-Mujtaba, and abul-Fadhil Abbas
1
\\\"Al-Atash\\\" Rukayya cried; thirst apparent in her eyes; Allah-Allah
\\\"Al-Atash\\\" Rukayya cried; sorrow in her father\\\'s eyes; Allah-Allah
\\\"Al-Atash\\\" Rukayya cried; verve is in Abbas\\\'s eyes; Allah-Allah
\\\"Al-Atash\\\" Rukayya cries, her eyes meet Abbas\\\'s eyes, Allah-Allah
Ruqayya\\\'s hopes began to rise, her uncle would heed her cries
The children gathered around; watched the flag fall to the ground
From that point until her death, al-Atash had left her breath
2
Allahu Akber the adhaan came; the morning of the main campaign; Allah-Allah
Akber stood facing falsehood; ready to fight protecting good; Allah-Allah
Like the Prophet in every way; How did his father give him away; Allah-Allah
To battle he rode unconstrained; uncle Abbas had him well trained; Allah-Allah
Husayn went running at his behest; the spear embedded in his chest
If Ali looked down, he\\\'d cry; what evil my son must defy
Husayn pulled out that metal shard; the gates of Khayber weren\\\'t that hard
3
\\\"Hal-min nassir yansurunaa\\\"; calling out to the shia; Allah-Allah
Asghar\\\'s lips so dry with thirst; denied by that army cursed; Allah-Allah
Took that baby to the tent; showed them what their treatment meant; Allah-Allah
Those few that still had some heart; ran towards river Furaat; Allah-Allah
Hurmala raised his arrow; about to cause such great sorrow
The tiny throat no longer cries; this soul with Allah resides
The ground and sky are so aggrieved; that kind of blood they don\\\'t receive
4
Battle over, one man remains; tied up in hot burning chains; Allah-Allah
With inner strength he maintains calm; for now he is the true Imaam; Allah-Allah
Tortured and dragged through the street; this story he does repeat; Allah-Allah
The message spreads so far and wide; the message of Islam survives; Allah-Allah
Zainab and Imam Sajjad; sermons to Ibne-Ziyad
In Shaam young Ruqayya rests; with all the pain her wounds suggest
We await Al-Mehdi the holy guide; for only then will truth reside
5
Al-Hassan could not be there, but his letter his son did bare; Allah-Allah
Only an Imaam could know, such foresight Hassan did show, Allah-Allah
While he sought peace all his life, he knew his brother would face such strife; Allah-Allah
When Qasim sought to go and fight, that letter let him give his life; Allah-Allah
The young soldier could barely climb, on the horse even that time
In the battle he fell off his steed, Imaam rushed out to his need
Trampled Qasim is what he saw, but Imaam did not withdraw
6
Al-Atash Ruqayya cries; thirst apparent in her eyes; Allah-Allah
Permission Abbas does seek; he can\\\'t help but protect the weak; Allah-Allah
Haider\\\'s son so brave and pure; the flag held high and so assured; Allah-Allah
At the river would he drink first; horse nor man obey their thirst; Allah-Allah
He takes the mushk towards the tent; he must deliver its contents
The arrow hits his eye and bag; his arms cut off he drops that flag
Salaam on you brother Husayn; Islam\\\'s victory you must attain

Tonight you want to read elegies about Imam Husayn’s (as) companions, right? Do you know what Imam Husayn’s (as) companions did to him? Imam Husayn (as) loved them. When Habib bin Mazahir was being martyred, the Imam said the same thing that he said when Ali Asghar was being martyred. He threw Ali Asghar’s blood up into the sky and said, “That which lets me tolerate this tragedy is that God is watching.” He said the same thing when his friend Habib bin Mazahir was being martyred. He held Habib’s head on his knee and said, “O God, since you are watching I tolerate this.”
This other companion of the Imam truly amazes me. He was shielding the Imam. He took this role on himself. When the Imam talked or went anywhere, he shielded him. He stood up for the arrows to hit him. He was struck so many times that he fell to the ground in front of Aba Abdillah al-Husayn (as). He said, “Imam, I can’t continue anymore.” The Imam came and put his head on his knee. He asked, “O Imam, are you satisfied with me now?”
Do you know what the Imam answered him? [We should say] what kind of question is this? This truly affected Imam Husayn (as). Imam Husayn (as) said, “[My dear] you will be in front of me in Heaven. When entering Heaven you should enter in front of me.”
That desert was the place of showing love. Was this easy for Husayn (as) for this companion to be struck by an arrow in his chest and fall to the ground? It was easier for Husayn (as) to be struck by the arrow himself instead of his companions. When each of Imam Husayn’s (as) companions would fall to the ground [after fighting]
it is said that Aba Abdillah al-Husayn (as) would go to him like an eagle that goes toward its hunt. He wouldn’t let them bother his companion. Imam Husayn (as) would hold the companion’s head on his knee calmly and caress him until his spirit left his body. Then Imam Husayn (as), along with the other companions, would bring the body back. He wouldn’t allow anyone’s head to be cut off while he was still alive. Husayn (as) didn’t allow anyone to be beheaded…

Letter 28: In reply to Mu\'awiyah, and it is one ot his most elegant writings
ومن كتاب له (عليه السلام(
إلى معاوية جواباً
وهو من محاسن الكتب.
Now, your letter has reached me wherein you recall that Allah chose Muhammad (S) for His religion and helped him through those companions who helped him. Strange things about you have remained concealed (by the irony of fate) from us, since you have started telling us of Allah\'s trials for us and His bounties to us through our Prophet. In this matter, you are like the person who carries dates to Hajar, or who challenges his own master to a duel in archery.
You think that so - and- so are the most distinguished persons in Islam. You have said such a thing which if it be true, you have nothing to do with it, but if it be not so, then its defect will not affect you. And what are you to do with the question of who is better and who is worse, or who is the ruler and who is the ruled. What have the freed ones and their sons to do with distinguishing between the first muhajirun and determining their position or defining their ranks. What a pity! the sound of an arrow is being produced by what is not a real arrow, and he against whom the judgement is to be passed is sitting in judgement. O man, why do you not see your own lameness and remain within bounds, and why do not you realize the shortness of your measure and stay back where destiny has placed you. You have no concern with the defeat of the defeated or the victory of the victor.
You are wandering in bewilderment and straying from the right path. Do you not realize it? I am not giving you any news: I am just recounting Allah\'s bounty, namely that a number of people from among the muhajirun (immigrants from Mecca) and ansar (helpers) fell as martyrs in the way of Allah the Sublime, and that each of them is distinguished (on that account), but when one of us secured martyrdom he was named the Chief of all martyrs, and the Messenger of Allah (S) gave him the peculiar honour of saying seventy takbir (Allahu Akbar) during his funeral prayer.
Do you not know that a number of people lost their hands in the way of Allah, and that everyone is distinguished (on that account), but when the same thing occurred to one of us he was given the name \"the flier in Paradise\"; and \"the two winged\". If Allah had not forbidden self-praise, the writer would have mentioned numerous distinctions which the believer knows full well and which the ears of hearers do not wish to forget.

Why are you so silent? your voice you never rise
Your family was martyred right before you eyes
Ali ibnal Husayn
Yabnal Husayn they ask why are you greiving
Yaqob lost one son, then lost his vision from weeping
Yabnal Husayn your family martyred for believing
O\' our dear Imam we don\'t know what your feeling
Ali ibnal Husayn
In the desert sands you march
Your thirsty lips are parched
They treated you so harsh
Blood dripping from your chained hands
Stains the the sand red
But this is not the reason for the tears that you shed
On the top of that spear is your fathers head
Ali ibnal Husayn
Grandson of Ali, Grandson of Zahra
O\' son of Mecca, O\' son of Kabaa
Between hope and pain
O\' son of Safa
Your family was slain on the plains of Karbala
Ali ibnal Husayn
In Madina you serve anyone mistreated
The crippled and the weak
The hungry you feed them
If they offer you a drink
Your heart starts bleeding
The thought of arrow shots Abbas was receiving
Ali ibnal Husayn
O\' ornament of worshippers
The Psalms you left they nurture us
For the sick, homeless, oppressed and all of us soul searchers
We\'re crying and distressed
A life of tragedy
Yet is was so blessed, Ya Ali, tranquility

A Noha introducing the story of Karbala.
Noha Lyrics:
Chorus
The moon of Muharram, times of sadness have come
The crescent has now arrived, casting gloom on Karbala, casting gloom on Karbala
1
Betrayal by the Kufans, set this moon on its course
Calling out for their guide, treachery with no remorse
Muslim and his sons, what a tragedy
Oh what a calamity, the moon bleeds to forsee
2
On the ninth it heard the prayers of those pure souls
Fought the rising sun, for perhaps this could be its role
Akber\\\'s adhaan so clear, this moon filled with fear
How will it possibly arise and see the state of those dear?
3
It saw the six month infant, no water but an arrow
That night it shone its light on, Rabaab filled with such sorrow
To see my Asghar I crave, I hear nothing but his cries
Oh sun please do not arise, and with this mother sympathise
4
Witnessed it the trampling on Shaame Gharibaa
Saw that night the terror, bodies scattered afar
Tents looted and on fire, earrings snatched from Rukayya
This moon also in such pains, this household bound in chains
5
From this month my bibi, had to wander veilless
Zahra\\\'s grave is restless, for her daughter, princess
The cloak of purity, for this mother so holy
The beloved of Fatema paraded in the bazaar

Noha Lyrics:
Intro
When the hot sun set on Ashura, bodies lay scattered in Karbala
Did they have no shame, Ahlul Bayt were slain
Zainab lamented to Fatima
Chorus
Oh dearest mother Ya Fatima, look what has happened in Karbala
Come back and save us, they have betrayed us
Zainab lamented to Fatima
1
When your son Husayn took his beloved to the battlefield for some water
They quenched his thirst with a three-pronged arrow, Zahra you do not want to know more
Even a baby was martyerd thirsty
Zainab lamented to Fatima
2
When Husayn\\\'s son Akbar gave the adhaan they thought Rasulullah was calling
It struck them that they were on the wrong side but then they saw Ali Akbar speaking
They had no decency and felt no sympathy
Zainab lamented to Fatima
3
When my two young sons Aun and Muhammad went out and fought so valiantly
I was grateful and thanked The Almighty for what a blessing He did give me
Defending the truth, rejecting falsehood
Zainab lamented to Fatima
4
That night after Husayn had been martyred, I stood outside and alone with my sword
I was the guardian of all the children, but then a man did slowly approach
When he came closer, was it my father?
Zainab lamented to Fatima
5
When your great grandson will reappear, he will resemble Rasulullah
He will come back near the Holy Kaaba and avenge the blood of Karbala
Salaam on you son, the holy twelfth one
Zainab lamented to Fatima

\\\"Down with America\\\"
Down with the scourge, the Relentless scourge!
The pollen of innocent slaves,
The sudden death of hundreds and thousands of lives,
In a couple of seconds, With the fall of the sky,
Down with killing the buds of youth!
(killing of the young)
Down with the release of toxins in the limpid streams,
(The bombing of Hiroshima, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan and other places hit by western bombs)
death comes with the fluency of lies! Down with censorship!
Down with barbed wire and mine fields of war,
The mass graves and slaughtering of man kind!
Down with self-mutilation, Down with their cages!
Death and Glory of thorny brushwood, Down with Desire!
Down with the abuse of \\\"Human Rights\\\" , the death Axe.
Down with the flare of evil, the Embassy of death that
comes with a \\\"coup\\\" of smoke! ( Western Embassy )
Live the life of relapse! Live the life of me, of you, of us!
In a few words, Down with America!
Down with self-mutilation, Down with their cages!
Death and Glory of thorny brushwood, Down with Desire!
Down with the abuse of \\\"Human Rights\\\" the death Axe!
(The west lying on human rights as well as using them to invade other nations)
Down with the flare of evil! Down with America!
Down with Abu Lahab, Down with Yazid, Shimer and Ibn Sa\\\'d,
Down with the sons of Ziad
Another one.
Down with resolutions cutting off the Euphrates,
That brought the arrow to the infants throat
Death laughs at the enemies of Ali Reza
Down every shot gun in memory of Armita,
Down with America

Abbas...Abbas...Abbas...Abbas
1
We, the Shia, today gather.
The son of Ali we all remember.
We all \'til dawn shall mourn together.
We\'ll cry for the son of Haidar.
Every night, every day I\'ll say Abbas.
2
Abbas at your birth Ali would cry.
He pooled the tears for the day you\'d die.
The day on which on the sands you\'d lie,
Your hands cut off, an arrow in your eye.
Haider would mourn your death Abbas.
3
My need to reach the cool water,
In order to get for Hussain\'s daughter,
And for his 6 month son called Asghar,
And for your beloved Hussain master.
But you did not drink the water Abbas.
4
We, the shia, shall never understand
How it felt for you to fall on that land.
On the scorching and red hot sands
Without your two right and left hands.
What a sacrifice you gave Abbas!

A noha about the Tragedy of Karbala
Noha Lyrics:
Chorus 1
Husayn ya Mawla
ya Mawla ya Mawla
1
Thirsty Ruqayyah
Thirsty Abdullah
We just need water
Father some water
Where\'s your flag bearer
Son of Fatima
2
Husayn\'s all alone
Shah Qasim has gone
Ali Akbar\'s gone
Abu Fadhil\'s gone
Even Abdullah
Husayn Wawaylah
3
Zainab cries Allah
Where\'s Aba Abdillah
Where\'s Ali Akbar
Where is Abdullah
Where\'s my alamdar
Where\'s my flag bearer
Where\'s my protector
Where is my Abbas
4
Now the tents on fire
Shackled Ruqayyah
Zainab you have seen
Zainul Abideen
Ill and locked in chains
Zahra cries in pain
My Husayn is slain
Where is my Husayn
5
Your head on a spear
My eyes filled with tears
Your body trampled
Why were they so cruel
And it still hurts me
That you died thirsty
6
Zahra cries Husayn
Zainab cries Husayn
My tears cry Husayn
My heart cries Husayn
Husayn cries out last
Where is my Abbas
Chorus 2
Abbas flag bearer
flag bearer flag bearer
7
Children cry in thirst
Where is my Abbas
Abbas cries in pain
Children I\'ve been slain
I can\'t bring water
For you Ruqayyah
8
Cries of \"al atash\"
But I am Abbas
I will bring water
For Husayn\'s daughter
But they\'ve ambushed me
Master forgive me
9
He won\'t quench his thirst
For Husayn comes first
With his arms cut off
Still won\'t taste a drop
Blinded by arrow
I cry in sorrow
10
Women and children
Were slapped and beaten
Children cry in fear
Zainab full of tears
Oh my brother dear
I wish you were here
11
Saviours of Islam
I send my salaam
Upon you master
When I drink water
All my love for you
And my life for you
I will beat my chest
I will never rest
I will give my life
I will sacrifice
In my life always
Your flag is raised high

Lyrics:
Lai Lai Lai...
I don\\\'t fear if from your cradle you depart
You sleep in the deepest oceans of my heart
But if for only a second from me you part
Each ocean in my heart would be torn apart
My tongue wanted water but I asked you first
I knew from your eyes the torture of your thirst
You did not know what so with cries I conversed
If I had tears to cry your tongue I\\\'d have nursed
O\\\' my child, o\\\' my child
O\\\' my child, o\\\' my child
Missing your smile I told Hussain to take him
Each of his cries sings to me a painful hymn
Your smile was now nothing more than a dream
And from his thirst not a single tear would stream
O\\\' my child, o\\\' my child
O\\\' my child, o\\\' my child
Lai Lai Lai...
Hussain cradles you, a bundle of roses
His eyes for tears to drink your eye searches
You yearned a kiss so that your cry it hushes
But o\\\' child your neck an arrow kisses
O\\\' my child, o\\\' my child
O\\\' my child, o\\\' my child

There is a beautiful tradition narrated from a man named Nauf. He said, “I saw Imam Ali (as) turn away from everyone and move away quickly and eagerly.” Have you seen when someone is pursuing something he likes how he moves away from others? He doesn’t say goodbye ten times. He‘s like an arrow that has been shot from a bow! This is a description of how the Imam went away.
The man asked him, “Where are you going?” It was midnight when he saw the Commander of the Faithful, Ali (as), leaving! Now see how the Imam said he wanted to go pray the Midnight Prayer and worship. [The Imam said,] “Nauf, leave me. Indeed my longings take me to the presence of my beloved.”
O Imam, may I be sacrificed for you. Worshiping to you is going toward your longings, right? May I be sacrificed for you. It’s obvious that this worshiping is fun and enjoyable for you.
“I said, ‘My master, what are your longings?’ The Imam said, ‘The One Who should know, the One Whom I long for knows this Himself. I don’t need to tell this to anyone else.’”
See how the Commander of the Faithful talked. This is how he was. Nauf said, “O Commander of the Faithful, I’m afraid of my greed...”He saw Imam Ali’s (as) position. He looked at himself and said he’s afraid! Nauf was a good person. He saw Imam Ali’s (as) longings and what was fun to him. So Nauf said he was afraid of his own greed for this world. He saw that he didn’t have that same enthusiasm the Imam had for worshiping. He asked what he should do. The Imam (as) was surprised.
The Imam said, “Why don’t you take refuge with He Who protects those who are afraid and is the shelter of the mystics?” Why don’t you get help from God? He gives refuge. If you’re truly afraid, He gives refuge to those who are afraid. Get help from God Himself! He is the shelter of the mystics. You understood you’re not in a good situation? You understood there is a better situation? He is the shelter of the mystics. He gives refuge Himself. Why do you ask the Imam?
What a truly high-level conversation. It is very beautiful and mystical. Nauf said, “Guide me to Him.” I don’t know how to read the words of the Commander of the Faithful (as). The Imam said, “He is the Exalted and Great God. Attach your longings to His good grace.” This is how worshiping becomes something fun and enjoyable! See the Commander of the Faithful’s (as) outlook. The Exalted and Great God will take you to your longings. Don’t you want to be like this?! So ask Him. God will take you to your longings. [The Imam said,] “Don’t you want to worship God like me?!” The Imam didn’t say, “like me.” I’m saying it like this. Don’t you want to worship God like the Imam? God will take you to your longings.
What is worshiping my dear ones? Worshiping means you talk about your longings with God and He takes you to them. O God, so worshiping is fun and enjoyable.

What is worshiping my dear ones? Worshiping means you talk about your longings with God and He takes you to them. O God, so worshiping is fun and enjoyable.

Aba al-Fazl (as) came to say goodbye to Husayn (as). My I be sacrificed for how you’re crying. How did Husayn (as) use to show his affection to Abbas (as)? When calling him, Husayn (as) used to say, “May I be sacrificed for you.” He loved him very much. I don’t know how Zaynab (as) used to call Abbas (as). These were their private conversations. Imam Husayn, his Imam, said, “May I be sacrificed for you.” Zaynab was his sister and sisters are more compassionate, tender-hearted and loving. She was a sister and full of affection.
For example, consider when they were on the way. It was God’s mercy that detailed memories of this caravan while travelling to Karbala have not been recorded. [It’s as if they say,] “Why do you want to know?” For example, they haven’t recorded Zaynab saying, “My Abbas, get Ali Asghar. Hug Ruqayya for a minute.” I want to say, “O Aba al-Fazl, don’t go into the battlefield. Don’t go. I plead you.”
Abbas came to say goodbye. Husayn (as) said, “Do you want to leave Husayn alone?” Alas for Abbas’s sorrows and sufferings. O Abbas, go and see what you can do for Husayn (as). You will have to become a martyr. But at least bring this waterskin back with some water so that you can relieve your sorrow a little by doing this. Abbas had so much hope and picked up that waterskin so confidently that the children felt less thirsty. They told each other, “Our uncle is going to bring water.” “Did you see how our uncle picked up the waterskin?! That’s it. Rabab, hold onto Ali Asghar. Water is coming. The way our uncle picked up the waterskin shows that we’ll have water soon.” When the enemies would beat Husayn’s children while traveling to Damascus, they would call for their uncle! How could they tell the children that their uncle would not return anymore?! He picked up the waterskin so confidently that everyone thought the same.
Abbas (as) expected the same. There is a sentence in history books that shows Aba al-Fazl was surprised himself too. When his hands were cut off, he didn’t care. But as soon as an arrow struck his waterskin, it is said that Abbas stood still. O Abbas, you didn’t expect this? It was then that he begged God to take him [due to his shame].

Translation:
I swear by God who spread out the earth and created the heavens
And by the revelation and signs Gabriel brought
I call out with nobility until the Day of Resurrection
That I shall die with dignity and not humiliation, never!
If the bloodthirsty blade should sever my head
If the sword drawn for battle should cut out my liver
If they send a three-pronged arrow instead of water to my fresh flower
If through my brother\'s pain the enemy should break my back
Murdered by tears, taken prisoner by hardships
Will you write my sorrows in Karbala with mere pen and ink?
Never! Grief can only be written in flowing tears
If my enemy surrounds me and shoots me with arrows
If my head, shoulders, and body must bear the strikes of swords
If a stone should strike my brow and cover my luminous face in blood
If instead of water, my cruel enemy gives fire
If I die a hundred times from my son’s burning fever
They wronged me, killed me, and forgot who I am
Until I lived in a world of grief and suffering
All the sorrows of the world have gathered here
By God, who willed me to suffer a hundred cuts
Two hundred spears and swords did not hurt my body
I will never take the hand of my oppressors or accept humiliation
Even if they bring all the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth to fight me
(Husayn, my life, how you were wronged…)
I did not break my pledge to worship God alone
I swear, I never worshipped anyone but God
I swear, I am the son of the Lion of God and the son of Fatima
An Arab, an Alid, from the line of the Quraysh, of the tree
The son of a veteran of Uhud and Badr, a son of Fatima, of the moon
I gave my everything, my seventy-two companions gave their lives
It is I with crimson face
It is I with blood gushing from my throat
It is I with thirst like a dagger
It is I with the grief of the youth
It is I in the dust of the desert
It is I beneath the horses\' hooves
I am beloved to God who guides
But in Karbala I am alone, stripped, and covered in dust
Strange that I should taste death while I am thirsty
Who is there to protect me, my beard dyed with blood?
I am here with severed veins and shredded heart
I am here with my little child, my thirsty infant
I am here with my imprisoned daughter
I am here with the Ever-Living, the Eternal One
Does anyone worship the Lord above as I do?
For I am the niche of the one for whom the blade came while he was in prayer
When my child was slain and by family taken captive, when my neck was cut
When I was slain thirsty beside the river’s waters
I am here with many wounds, I am here with the verses of the Qur’an
I am here with the parched tongues, I am here with the tips of the arrows
Let all come and see our stand, our nobility, and our dignity
(Husayn, my life, how you were wronged…)
Here all can see what became of me
Would the Prophet, the best of humankind
Be pleased by these claws tearing into Husayn?
By God, by the Messenger, by Ali son of Abi Talib, and by Zahra the Pure
And my brother Hasan al-Mujtaba, the paragon of virtue
My brother, how do you feel seeing the horses trample my chest?
And my seventy-two companions, my Habib, my Zuhayr, and my Tirmah
my John and Wahb, all of pure heart
By the dignity, the nobility, the sternness of Abbas
By Uthman and by Ja’far, by the two martyrs of Aqil
By the pure hearts of Abdallah and Qasim
By Ali Akbar and his pain, by Ali Asghar and his blood
The full moon beats its chest with both hands from grief
Shedding tears that flow like silver, crying out in lament
Broken-hearted, O my support, O my aspiration, O my beloved, O Husayn!
(Husayn, my life, how you were wronged…)
By the jasmine of Medina, by Ruqayya, by Sakina
By Zaynab’s stricken heart and her two martyred sons
By the dry lips of my little children
By the weary body of my beloved son Sajjad
I shall never flee from these oppressors
Nor shall I give allegiance or make peace with tyrants
My head is upon the spearhead in the way of God, speaking with the Beloved
I will bear the slings and arrows, for I swear I see nothing but God
(Husayn, my life, how you were wronged…)
By the Arab Prophet, the Messenger of Medina
And by his brother, the Lion of God called Ali
By Zahra the pure, by the mother of her father
And by his grandsons, his lion cubs, they are the scions of purity
By al-Sajjad, by al-Baqir, and by al-Sadiq, truly!
And by Musa, and Ali, and Taqi, and Naqi
And by the one imprisoned in Samarra and by God’s Authority who will rise up with the truth
Who will strike out with the sword to rule for eternity
And by Muhammad and Muhammad and by Ali and Ali
(Husayn, my life, how you were wronged…)
