Who says you should go to Karbala whenever you are in the mood

What if after the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (‘a.j.), they say, “Whoever went on the Arbaeen walk, was effective in preparing for the reappearance.” If your grandchild or child asks you, “Dad, did you go on the Arbaeen walk,” what will you answer?
Making a pilgrimage is something serious. You may go to the shrine when you are in the mood. That’s nice. You liked to go. When you go to Karbala you should say, “I am ready to help you.” Suddenly, everything becomes serious!
At least you should be able to say, “If I couldn’t go myself, I sent one person and paid his way. He was young and able to go to the shrine of Aba Abdillah al-Husayn (‘a) so it wouldn’t be empty.” “I am ready to help you.” This phrase is a part of the Arbaeen supplication. I have come to help you.
If you can’t go yourself, send your child, neighbour, or colleague. Go yourself too. Say, “Imam I have come to show and announce my presence, lest my name not be recorded here.” Imam Husayn (‘a) is holding a eulogy ceremony himself for Arbaeen.
Shall I give you some strange news? A person may wonder at this until the end of time! Some religious groups hold gatherings during the year, but they don’t do anything for Arbaeen. Isn’t that interesting? They spend and work hard for their eulogy ceremonies. But, about the eulogy that Imam Husayn (‘a) holds himself, they say, “There are others who will go.” What about you?
Imam Sadiq (‘a) saw one of his friends. The Imam (‘a) said, “I have heard that there are some people who love us and follow us, who haven’t been to Karbala for four years.” The man replied, “Many people are like this!” Imam Sadiq (‘a) said, “What will these people tell the Prophet of God?” The man said, “How often should a person go on this pilgrimage?” The Imam said, “Poor people, once a year. Rich people, twice a year.”
Should one go to Karbala based on his mood and when he wants to? Where have they said this? In which tradition has this been written? A soldier should go show and announce his presence.
Because we act like this and look at it in this way, the reappearance still hasn’t happened yet. What if after the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (‘a.j.), they say, “Whoever went on the Arbaeen walk, was effective in preparing for the reappearance.” If your grandchild or child asks you, “Dad, did you go on the Arbaeen walk,” what will you answer? A soldier should go show and announce his presence.
We have advanced in spiritual matters, Itikaf, and making pilgrimages. Praise God, see how many people come to Imam Reza’s (‘a) shrine or to the Jamkaran Mosque. But friends, we still haven’t reached the needed growth. Only two million people go on Arbaeen from Iran? How do you justify this? Didn’t Imam Hasan Askari (‘a) say this is a sign of being our follower? Don’t you feel responsible? Where will you be on Arbaeen?!

The Last Preparation before the Reappearance of the Saviour
Agha Alireza Panahian 2019
The last preparation needed before the Reappearance is for the managers of the society to be corrected. Because, the Imam of the Time’s (‘a.j.) government and his reappearance involve managing the society. The Imam will not come just to pray. You know this. Do you think if people are unworthy, the Imam will bring angels or 313 people from the sky?
He won’t say, “You don’t need to understand what management is. You don’t need to understand the difference between a good manager and a bad manager at all. I’ll choose a manager for you myself.”
If this is the way it will be, then I’m sorry, but was humankind a plaything up until now?! He could have come sooner. “Be miserable for a while. Now, from today, we have decided for you to be prosperous!” Why do some people think like a cartoon or a legend?! The Imam of the Time’s (‘a.j.) government and his reappearance involve managing the society. If the prophets wanted to take us to Heaven like sheep, they didn’t need to go through so much trouble!
For example, when the people didn’t understand something, the Prophet could have said, “You don’t need to do anything. I’ll fix it myself! Dear Ali, come here tonight so that we can plan! Kill these two. Bring those two. Slap those two! Done!” The next day, “People come to pray. Everything is fixed! Done!”
It’s impossible that we don’t understand what righteous managing is and then 313 righteous managers govern us, and we deserve for them to be our masters!
Once, some people decided to kill the prophet! The trustworthy angel Gabriel exposed them and said, “They’ll come in front of you tonight to kill you.” The Prophet told Hudhayfah and a few other people to come to increase the number of his guards since some wanted to murder him. They increased the number of guards. Those people were exposed and caught.
Hudhayfah said, “O Prophet, we should kill them! They wanted to kill a prophet!” The Prophet (s) said, “No, let them go.” They returned to Medina. Hudhayfah asked, “Shall we kill them now? We’re not in the desert anymore!” The Prophet (s) said, “No.” “At least let’s announce it so that they will be exposed!” “No.” “If they stay, they will do the same thing after you!” The Prophet (s) gave an answer, which in brief was, “People should understand who these are themselves, even without me disclosing them!”
Are we awaiting the Reappearance? The people of the world should realize that these 313 Helpers are the most deserving, even without Imam Mahdi introducing them! Why are they the most deserving?! Why is their behaviour worthy?! Why are others besides them unworthy?! Why is any other method wrong! People should know these things for the Reappearance to happen! This is the needed preparation for the Reappearance.
“If we don’t want to become a manager, must we still understand management?” Yes! That’s it. Otherwise, managers will turn you into a plaything by acting populistic. Do you know when humankind will deserve to have 313 rulers on earth? When they distinguish the difference between just and worthy rulers, and unworthy rulers.

Relinquishing the Ismails in Our Lives
Agha Alireza Panahian
Many religious people have a problem in this area! The way to test a person’s internal being is for him to ignore an interest. The good interests that you have gained, now you have to sacrifice some of those good interests.
Whenever you decide to do a valuable action, you should pass over one of your interests. Therefore, the Commander of the Faithful, Ali (‘a), said, “Any sin is accompanied by desire. Any act of obedience is accompanied with feelings of aversion and hardship.” With this design that the Almighty God has made within us, He has created the opportunity for testing.
So, if we resist our desires and bad interests, activate our good interests, and taste the enjoyment of good interests, will we live happily? No my dear! One should oppose his or her good desires for better desires!
After you have become good, will everything be solved? No, then it’s time to sacrifice the good interests that you have gained. Many religious people have a problem in this area!
Satan didn’t want to open up a bar! He didn’t want to act like a gangster! He said, “Instead of this prostrating, I’ll pray 2 thousand years for You.”
One might say, “One has to resist his bad interests for his good interests! He has to oppose his lesser interests for more valuable and higher interests!” No my dear! One should oppose his or her good desires for better desires! Which good interests? Give an example.
For example, you love your Ali Akbar (the son of Husayn (‘a)). Now you must sacrifice your Ali Akbar. Or, you are Ibrahim. And, you love your Ismail. Now sacrifice your Ismail.
In this world, the Commander of the Faithful, Ali (‘a), loved to protect Hazrat Fatimah Zahra (s) more than anything else. But, the situation required that because of God he not use his sword to defend Hazrat Fatimah (‘a) due to superior interests. And this anguish remained with him till the end of his life. It wasn’t easy for him!
It is for this part of the story that we gather to read eulogies about tragedies. The way to test a person’s internal being is for him to ignore an interest. The good interests that you have gained, now you have to sacrifice some of those good interests. One should oppose his or her good desires for better desires! And, this continues until the last moment!

Do you have problems Don’t come to Arbaeen!
Agha AliReza Panahian
We should pay attention to what God is expecting in these calm and quiet tests. Some of the tests are with a great commotion, and they clarify our duty. Some of the tests are very quiet. A person may be deceived and suddenly lose opportunities.
In many cases, the tests for reaching to the highest degrees of closeness to God, are very delicate and quiet. The people of Kufa said, “What should we do now? What will happen? We can’t leave Imam Husayn (‘a) alone. We invited him ourselves. Let’s wait until he comes.” Then they realized that Imam Husayn (‘a) won’t come. Hurr and his troops had stopped them. And Ubaydullah was preparing an army.
They were thinking about what to do. People like Sulayman bin Surad were thinking. Then suddenly what happened? They brought the pure heads into the city. They blamed themselves, “We didn’t know such a tragedy would come about!”
Thousands of people formed the Tawwabin (repenters) uprising. All of them knew that they were going to be killed, and they were killed. There was no use for what they did in history, and they didn’t gain the advantage of being in Karbala or Ashura either.
What? You expected Imam Husayn (‘a) to pass through Hurr’s blockade himself, come into the city of Kufa, nock on your doors one by one, and say, “Come help me. They want to cut my head off. If you don’t come, this and that will happen.” What explanation did you expect from Imam Husayn (‘a) for you to come?
Believe me, Arbaeen is one of the quiet tests. Some of the tests are very quiet. A person may be deceived and suddenly lose opportunities. Believe me, Arbaeen is one of the quiet tests. Arbaeen seems noisy, but it’s also quiet, because one might think, “Is it obligatory for me to struggle for Arbaeen?” I don’t know. What should I say? During these analyses, some lose this great opportunity. During these analyses, some lost the opportunity of helping Husayn (‘a).
But, there was one person sitting in Imam Husayn’s (\\\'a) meeting on the night before Ashura. People informed him, “The cursed Ubaydullah has arrested your son.” Being arrested at that time meant being executed. They had to rescue him somehow. Imam Husayn (‘a) looked at the father and said, “Go save your son. I don’t want you to be here when you have this problem.”
The Imam gave him some money and supplies and said, “Use these to gain your son\\\'s freedom.” If you have problems, don’t come to Arbaeen. If you were in Imam Husayn’s (\\\'a) tent on the night of Ashura, he would have said, “Go fix your problems.” Even if you were there on the night of Ashura!
What did that father do? He looked at AliAkbar, the Imam’s son, and at the Imam (‘a). He said, “Your young son is going to be martyred here tomorrow. Now I should go after my own son? May my son be sacrificed for your son!” He started pleading, “Don’t drive me out of your tent because of this. I don’t want to go after my problems. I want to be for you!” He pleaded so much that the Imam (‘a) said, “Fine, stay.”
The tests are not always noisy or clear in clarifying our duties! Some opportunities come and go quickly like lightning. Some opportunities don’t shake you and say, “Wake up. Get up. Move!” They don’t seize you by the collar. A person asks, “I have some jobs to do. There is Arbaeen too. I don’t know if I should leave my work, or not.”
I say, “I don’t know. What should I say?!” I tell them I don’t know. If it was Imam Husayn (‘a), he would say, “Go, for sure. Go do your work my dear.” How much did you want to spend for Arbaeen? And you say you’re waiting for your Imam (‘a.j.) to reappear for you to rescue the world with him?! You didn’t spend that much for the dignity of Aba Abdillah al-Husayn’s (‘s) gathering in Karbala in the Arbaeen meeting place. You are waiting for the Imam (‘a.j.) to come for you to give your life? We consider Arbaeen to be a quiet test.

What can I do not to sin?Clip
Agha AliReza Panahian Nov.02, 2019
What can I do not to sin? What can I do to fear God? In order to be religious, people should first be trained to have a program and to plan. Help him or her to understand that we have to be disciplined. We must plan in addition to being disciplined, so that we can manage our own lives. They have told us repeatedly about this fact in the traditions that discipline is first.
You prove God to me a hundred times, and I still don’t listen to him. You prove the Hereafter and other things too, and I still don’t obey, because my will has become stubborn. I can’t listen! I haven’t been disciplined.
If we want to convince someone not to sin, the first step is to convince him that he can’t live without a program. Being without a program means being passive. A passive person doesn’t get up until he’s kicked. God hasn’t brought Hell to kick him now! It’s for later. So, he doesn’t do anything! He’ll only get up if he’s kicked!
His temperament is such that his life is without any program. He does things when he’s forced to, threatened, encouraged, or someone is standing over his head. He doesn’t know how to live based on a program at all! If you keep telling him about Hell, it’s useless! This Hell isn’t now. It’s later on. This undisciplined person without any program won’t move himself because of a future Hell. He’ll move whenever he’s kicked. An undisciplined person won’t move himself because of a future Hell.
If my child doesn’t pray, what can I do to get him or her to pray? I’m confused and don’t know what to do. Where should I start? Have you taught your child the key, necessary element in life, which is discipline? We ill-manneredly eat, say Salam, sleep, wake up, walk, dress... Ill-mannered, ill-mannered, ill-mannered! If a child isn’t disciplined, can you turn him into a disciplined person?
It’s easy to add one or two etiquettes to a disciplined person. He observes the etiquettes about neighbors, about sleeping and being awake, about his own room, and about other things. It’s not hard if you add a couple more etiquettes. He says, “What should I do?” “Observe the etiquettes about the Lord.” “What are they?” “Stand like this and say ‘Allahu Akbar.’ Don’t move for five minutes. Prostrate. Bend. Stand up. These are its etiquettes.” He’ll understand and do it. It’s not hard.
It’s hard for the child who has no discipline in his house. There’s kindness, but no discipline. There’s belief in God, but no discipline. There’s spirituality, but no discipline. It won’t work with just these! I’m not talking about whether dancing is forbidden, or not. Whether vulgar songs are vulgar, or not. Or, from what age should we teach children the differences between genders? I’m not talking about Islamic covering and other such things.
People who don’t want discipline for children in Elementary Schools are criminals. The argument is not over religion! Everyone needs a plan to live. And, this planning should be in a person’s blood. For planning to be in a person’s blood, he or she must have been disciplined in childhood. This discipline may be that of the Communists, the East, or the West. But, there should be discipline! The politicians who advocate unruliness in the education environment are criminals.
In order to convince someone not to sin, we must first convince them that we cannot live without a program. Why do you talk to a person about religion when he\'s not used to living with a program? It’s easy to add one or two etiquettes to a disciplined person. He says, “What should I do?” “Observe the etiquettes about the Lord.” “What are they?” “Stand like this and say ‘Allahu Akbar.’ Don’t move for five minutes. Prostrate. Bend. Stand up. These are its etiquettes.”

What can I do not to sin?Clip
