International human rights groups have censured Qatar and Saudi Arabia for their treatment of migrant workers.
Amnesty International has issued a report criticizing the conditions of workers preparing venues for the 2022 World Cup. The report details non-payment of wages, harsh working conditions, and poor standards of accommodation. Meanwhile, Human Rights Watch has urged Persian Gulf monarchies to take additional steps to safeguard migrant workers. In a statement, HRW appealed to the Arab states to adopt the new codes of the International Labor Organization. Saudi Arabia is currently conducting a brutal crackdown on undocumented workers. Several people -- including three Ethiopians -- have been killed since the kingdom launched a visa crackdown two weeks ago.

Thousands of judicial workers have protested outside their working premises all over Spain. They protest against the latest measures that the Ministry of Justice is taking to dismantle the Public Service of Justice in favor of Professional Lobbies, by privatizing Civil Registries, or applying fees when ever going to court. In Madrid, around 100 people gathered outside the Spanish Supreme Court, some of them workers from courts and justice halls from small towns nearby, who struggle every day by overwork, lack of equipment, and inefficient software for communicating with other judicial premises. This situation, valid for all justice premises in Spain, also affects the economy.

Iranian president Hassan Rouhani says the recent terrorist attack on gas pipeline workers in Iraq targets the Muslim world and those who serve the Iraqi nation.
Rouhani made the comment in a telephone conversation with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki. The Iranian president said such attacks aim to sow discord among the Iraqi people and damage the growing relations between Baghdad and Tehran. Rouhani said countries that have had a hand in such incidents should be held accountable. Maliki offered his condolences to the people of Iran and said he has ordered for Iranian residents and pilgrims in Iraq to be fully protected. On Friday, gunmen attacked workers at a gas pipeline project stretching from Iran into Iraq, killing 18 people, including 16 Iranians.
