In France, farmers have protested rising taxes by blocking roads around the capital Paris.
The angry farmers say they are fed up with what they call over-taxation. This they say includes the so-called \"eco-tax\" placed on road freights. The farmers believe the measure will lead to the loss of thousands of jobs. Some are also against a government decision to focus on EU subsidies on poorer livestock farmers. Rising taxes have been a source of growing anger in France. Several violent anti-tax protests have erupted throughout the country during the past weeks. At least one fireman was killed in one of the incidents.

Iran\'s Vice President for Strategic Planning, Mohammad Baqer Nobakht, in a press conference answered questions about the country\'s draft budget bill. The document was presented to Iranian Parliament by Iran\'s president Hassan Rouhani on Sunday. The 315 billion dollar draft budget bill is 7.5 percent more than last year\'s budget. It is made up of general budget which is 7.3 percent less and company budget that is 9.6 percent more than last year\'s budget. Nobakht stated that the increase in company budget sends an economic message to the private sector. Iranian Vice President added that the budget is set based on revenues mostly from taxes and customs, then oil revenue and last but not least government companies\' earnings.

Economics professor Thomas Rustici explains that production drives economies, not spending. Today, production is overburdened by regulations and taxes. Because governments refuse to cut spending, their economies will fail. Each country is entangled with the debts of other countries, so the crisis is contagious. More money creation and inflation are inevitable.

In the second part of his appearance on CNBC's Squawk Box this morning, Ron Paul asserted that the world would be a lot safer if the US government didn't start so many wars and continually tried to meddle in the affairs of other countries.
He explained that Iran poses no credible threat to America and that Obama's policy of assassinating US citizens on secret charges demonstrates that something has gone terribly wrong with American foreign policy.
Ron Paul supports regaining US security through diplomatic and economic engagement backed by military deterrence instead of aggression, murder and perpetual warfare.
Ron Paul is America's leading voice for limited constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and a return to sound monetary policies.

The current spell of miserable weather in the European Union\'s de facto Capital, Brussels, reflects the mood of many EU citizens who have fallen victim to the economic crisis. As the OECD cut its growth forecasts for the Eurozone and urged the European Central Bank to do more, the European Commission was setting out specific economic recommendations for member states. France, Spain, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Poland and Portugal are being given more time to implement painful economic cuts and raise taxes. The Commission, though, has warned the countries to use their extra time wisely or face possible sanctions for not complying.

Meanwhile, thousands of people have taken to the streets of Rome to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Enrico Letta\'s government.
The protesters, who\'re angry over the government\'s harsh austerity measures and high unemployment, called for fresh elections. They also accused the ruling class of corruption. The relatively calm protest turned violent after the demonstrators broke a journalist\'s camera, accusing them of being terrorists. The rally was organized by the anti-European Forconi or Pitchfork movement, which has been demanding more national sovereignty and lower taxes. The movement initially started as a farmers\' movement and was later joined by truck drivers and students. The Italian president has warned that failure to swiftly introduce reforms to help struggling citizens could plunge the country into violent social unrest.
