Description:

Taher has just finished two years of military service defending Iran against Saddam Hussein\'s war of aggression. His friend, who\'s deserted the frontline, wants Taher to help smuggle him out of the country. Despite his better judgment, and at the insistence of his friend\'s sister, Setayesh, he agrees. Taher and Setayesh eventually grow fond of each other and make plans to marry. But a tragedy causes a great rift between their families that threatens to keep the two from ever finding happiness together.

On Tuesday Iranian Ambassador to the Vatican Mohammad Taher Rabbani called a press conference to address media on a number of issues including inter-religious dialogue, the role of religions in international diplomacy, the challenges that Islam and Christianity can address today side by side. During the meeting Ambassador Rabbani praised Pope Francis for his modesty and high morality. The Ambassador also stressed the importance of a collaboration between the Holy See for promotion of peace. The press conference was attended by Italian and foreign media. Journalists and correspondents found the meeting with Iran\'s ambassador to the Holy See extremely useful and constructive.

The AhlulBayt Islamic Mission (AIM) and the Shia Professionals of London (SPL) organised an event entitled \\\'UNCHAINED WORDS\\\' marking the joyous occasion of the birth of the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali (as). The special event featured freestyle poetry and an opportunity to meet professionals from a variety of backgrounds including those specialising in media and arts. With us on this auspicious occasion was also Sheikh Hamza Sodagar who delivered a talk on the virtues of Imam Ali (as). Poetry recitations included contributions from Taher Adel, Sana Al-Yemen, Ibrahim Sincere, Haider Al-Shamary, Afreen Sajjad, Hussain Virjee and Abu Yasin. The media presentation was delivered by Reza John Vedadi and Hussain Makke.
