I also ask Allah to accept our conviction in his way and to give us the success in protecting the beliefs of this Ummah; for the life of any being is not measured except by how much he can give to his Ummah, by his presence, his life, his thought; and in this, you [Khomeini] have given to the Muslims, with your presence and thought, what will remain in history; a great example to all the Mujahideen. He noted that during the visit of Imam Mousa Sadr and his accompanying delegation to Libya, and following talks between Gaddafi and Imam Mousa Sadr about Shiism, Imam Mousa Sadr accused Gaddafi of unawareness about Islamic teachings and the Islamic branches of Shiism and Sunnism and betrayal, following which Gaddafi ordered the murder of Imam Mousa Sadr and his accompanying delegation. Imam Mousa Sadr went missing during an official visit to Libya upon the invitation of the Libyan ruler Muammar Gaddafi, in the year 1978.
