Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei narrates and explains a tradition narrated from the 1st divinely appointed Imam (A), Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (A), where his eminence (A) tells us all, \"Don\'t Place Yourself Under the Target of Slander\".
It is true that the Ahlul Bayt (A) have commanded us to think positive about our religious brothers and sisters; yet is there something that we might do which undermines this?
What are some of the ways in which we place ourselves under the target of slander, which is known in Arabic as Tohmah?
Who is in control when we keep our secrets to ourselves?
And is the safekeeping of secrets merely limited to our own individual lives?
Is not placing oneself under the target of slander limited to the common people, or are even religious scholars included in this statement?
Finally, as true believers and Mo\'mineen, why are we told, \"Don\'t Place Yourself Under the Target of Slander\"?
Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei expounds upon the wise words of the 1st divinely appointed Imam (A), Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (A), where his eminence (A) tells us all, \"Don\'t Place Yourself Under the Target of Slander\".

Islamic Supplication / Lamentation / Eulogy
Oh Our Lord! Place us in the proximity of the Guided Ones, from Bani Hashim
إلهي بالميامين هداتي من بني هاشم
English Translation (as per Video):
In His Name, the Most High
Oh Our Lord, Place Us In The Proximity
the Divinely Guided Ones From Bani Hashim
(Family of the Prophet Muhammad(S))
- A Poetic Translation
(Islamic Supplication / Lamentation)
Oh Our Lord! Place us in the proximity of
the Divinely Guided Ones from Bani Hashim
(Bani Hashim is the family of Prophet Muhammad(S))
For the sake of the Seal of the Prophets(S),
the Father of Revelation, Abal Qassim(S)
(These are amongst the titles of the Prophet Muhammad(S))
From those who fasted, and who prayed, and
who were always sincere to the Seal [Of the Prophets](S)
Those who endured three continuous days of fasting
[for the sake of Allah]
(Reference: Quran, Surah al-Insaan (#76), Verses 7-10)
Save us from the blazing fire,
Oh Most Merciful, Oh Most Compassionate
Save us from the blazing fire,
and protect us from all evil.
For who's sake you returned the Sun, and who is the Gate
[to the City of Knowledge (Prophet Muhammad(S)]
(Ref: Imam Ali(A) is the Gate to the City of Knowledge)
For the sake of her who is a part of the Prophet(S),
the Leader of the Women, [Lady] Fatimah(A)
(Ref: Prophet(S) said Fatimah(A) is a part of me)
And for the sake of those who were poisoned and murdered
by the oppressors, may Your mercy be removed from
all the oppressors!
And for the sake of as-Sajjad(A), and al-Baqir(A),
and as-Sadiq(A) and al-Kadhim(A)
(Ref: Grandsons of the Prophet(S) and Imams of the Muslims)
And for the sake on the one [poisoned and] buried in Tus,
Ali(A) [ar-Ridha], and his son - the Learned One(A)
(Ref: Grandsons of the Prophet(S) and Imams of Muslims)
For the sake of the two guards [al-Askariyain(A)],
who [guard and are with] the Awaited One who will Rise(AJ)
(Ref: Imam al-Mahdi(AJ), the Awaited Imam)
Lamentation based on a supplication, Arabic with English subtitles:

In this edition of the show Susan interviews Karen Greenberg, author of The Least Worst Place.
In her recent book The Least Worst Place, she offers a gripping narrative account of the first one hundred days of Guantanamo.
Greenberg, one of America's leading experts on the Bush Administration's policies on terrorism, tells the story through a group of career officers who tried and ultimately failed to stymie the Pentagon's desire to implement harsh new policies in Guantanamo and bypass the Geneva Conventions.
She outlines how the US has systematically violated all rules and norms of the Geneva Conventions and has made Guantanamo a lawless prison camp.
In this narrative of the earliest days of the post-9/11 era centers on the conflicts Gitmo-based Marine officers confess about faulty intelligence.
Ultimately from Bush to Obama transparency is replaced with secrecy, military protocol with violations of basic operation procedures, and humane and legal detainee treatment with harsh interrogation methods and torture.
Greenberg's riveting account puts a human face on this little-known story, revealing how America first lost its moral bearings in the wake of 9/11

The topic of knowledge can be widely found within Islamic teachings and practices; So much so that the first commandment and revelation from Allah (SWT) to his messenger prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was \"Read, In the Name of your Lord who has created all\".
Narrations from the Prophet (PBUH) tell us of the high statuses in which knowledge seekers are rewarded and over 700 verses within the Quran speak of \'knowledge\' and its associated words.
But in a world occupied by continuously developing technology, mankind has become both reliant on these gadgets and distracted from seeking Islamic knowledge.
At the same time Muslims in the Western world are too preoccupied with developing open societies to seek knowledge of Islam.
This week\'s Islam and Life asks: What importance does Islam place on seeking knowledge?

There Is a Time & Place for Everything | Shaykh Usama Abdulghani
Even among best friends, there are certain things which ought not to be said even if they may be considered as the truth. Similarly, among the Muslim Ummah, there are many academic points which may be considered as the truth by certain circles - this does not mean that such things ought to be blurted out at the risk of breaking ties and creating discord.
The deviant brand of #BritishShiaism, which is spearheaded by personalities like Yassir Habib, Mujtaba Shirazi, Tawhidi and others does not in any way represent the majority of Shia Muslims. The reality is that while the majority of Shia Muslims do have a different understanding to Sunnis when it comes to historical figures, most Shia Muslims have the common sense to avoid expressing such sentiments which will brew hatred. Most Muslims, both Sunni and Shia alike, want unity despite their differences - which are small in comparison to the vast similarities shared by the two Islamic Schools of Thought.
