The head of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad says he will never negotiate with Israel in the so-called peace process initiated by the United States.
Ramadan Abdullah Mohammad Shallah says Tel Aviv has no intention of giving anything to the Palestinians in the talks and that the only way ahead for Palestinians is resistance. He also says under the pretext of the talks Israelis have been building illegal settler units and undermining Islamic sanctities for decades. Shallah say under the circumstances Palestinians have been left with no other option but to resist Israel\'s expansionist policies in order to ensure their own statehood.

The al-Ghirayib family lives in one of the stranger manifestations of Israel's 43-year occupation of the West Bank: a Palestinian house inside a metal cage inside an Israeli settlement.
The family's 10 members, four of them children, can only reach the house via a 40-yard (meter) passageway connecting them to the Arab village of Beit Ijza farther down a hill. The passageway passes over a road used by Israeli army jeeps and is lined on both sides with a 24-foot-high (8-meter) heavy-duty metal fence.
The same fence rings the simple one-story house, separating it from the surrounding settlement houses.

Israeli forces raid al-Aqsa Mosque
Israeli forces have stormed the holy al-Aqsa Mosque in al-Quds (Jerusalem) to disperse Palestinians protesting against Israeli aggressions.
Palestinian officials say the protests started after an Israeli guard shot and killed a 32-year old Palestinian during clashes between Israeli settlers and Palestinians in the Silwan neighborhood on Wednesday.
The killing sparked protests in the area in which at least ten Palestinians were wounded.
Israeli riot police used rubber bullet and tear gas to disperse protesters and chased off those who sought refuge at al-Aqsa mosque, Islam's third-holiest shrine.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or further confrontations.
Despite the resumption of direct Israeli-Palestinian talks, the Palestinian Authority says Israeli settlers have not stopped attacking Palestinians in occupied territories for even a single day.
Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian Authority official in charge of monitoring settler activity in the northern, occupied West Bank, says Israeli settlers attack Palestinians and their properties on a daily basis. He says the attacks are premeditated and carefully planned.
Other reports say Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian farms in the West Bank city of Nablus on Tuesday and took away part of their olive crop.

Israeli warplanes have bombarded the Gaza Strip, killing at least two Palestinian and wounding several others.
Eyewitnesses say Israeli warplanes targeted the southern city of Khan Yunis. Two more strikes were reported in the east of the Gaza city and another in the center of the impoverished enclave. The attacks come shortly after a Palestinian sniper shot dead an Israeli along a border fence in the north of the coastal enclave. The incident seemed to be in retaliation for the recent killing of Palestinians in Gaza by Israeli forces. The Israeli military shot and wounded a Palestinian in northern Gaza on Monday. Another Palestinian was wounded by Israeli troops on Friday in southern Gaza, a day after a young Palestinian was killed and four others injured by Israeli fire.

Israel bans Pro-Palestinian activists from flying to Tel Aviv - 08Jul2011 - English

The Pro Palestinian activists who are part of a growing popular international solidarity movement with the Palestinian people against the Israeli siege on the Gaza strip and the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories, were set to arrive to Ben Gurion international airport and from there travel to the occupied Palestinian territories.
Israel's ministry of transport has submitted a list containing the names of 342 activists to foreign airlines with instructions to bar these activists from boarding their flights.
But these activists say they have the right to leave their own borders, and Israel's actions are illegal.
The organizers of the "Welcome to Palestine" campaign, otherwise known as "Fly in" had intended for these activists to come to the occupied Palestinian territories to see first hand the impact the Israeli occupation has on Palestinians.
While waiting for the pro Palestinian activists to clear airport inspection, some Israeli left wing activists began shouting slogans against the Israeli occupation of Palestine and chanted Free Free Palestine. But they were quickly dragged away by the Israeli police.
The welcome to Palestine campaign or the fly in, coincided with the second Gaza flotilla which until now is barred by the Greek authorities from setting sail towards the coast of Gaza.
Tight screening has prevented most pro Palestinian activists from reaching their destination namely ben gurion airport. These activists say by preventing passengers from boarding their flights Israel is putting pressure on other countries to adopt its policies.

Palestinian political prisoner and long term hunger striker Samer al Issawi was greeted by hundreds of supporters, friends and family as he was released from an Israeli jail following the longest hunger strike in Palestinian history.
Samer al Azawi was originally captured by the Israeli army and handed a 26 year sentence in 2002. He was released as part of the Gilad Shalit deal alongside over a thousand other prisoners in exchange for 1 Israeli prisoner. However, Asawi was arrested again in July 2012 and held in administrative detention without charge or trial. Following his detention, Asawi went on a 260 day hunger strike in protest against the Israeli\\\'s threatening to renew his original prison sentence for breaking the terms of his parole. Israeli forces raided his family\\\'s home twice just before his release. On Sunday, Israeli authorities gave notices to Issawi\\\'s brother and father, demanding they meet requirements by the Israeli intelligence. Israeli intelligence agents, accompanied by soldiers, told the family they were not allowed to organize any celebrations for Issawi\\\'s release. Samer al Azawi will now join his family in Jerusalem al Quds following a 9 months hunger strike which prompted the Israeli authorities to release him. He stressed the importance of applying international pressure on Israel to release over 4800 Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli jails.

An Israeli NGO has accused Tel Aviv of having tortured detained Palestinian children in freezing conditions.
The Public Committee Against Torture says the Palestinian minors have routinely been held in outdoor cages for hours after their arrest. The organization says the children had to endure freezing temperatures outside transit facilities. It says this is a long-running practice meant to terrify the detained children. The NGO adds that it\\\'s just one example of the torture and ill-treatment of Palestinian children by Israeli forces. The Palestinian Prisoners Society has also said in a new report that 2-hundred Palestinian children are among five thousand inmates locked up in Israeli jails.

Israeli forces open fire on a Palestinian teenager and kill him near the West Bank city of Ramallah.
The shooting took place just north of the Israeli settlement of Ofra. Palestinian medical and security officials say the victim is 18-year-old Mohammad Mubarak, who lived in the Jalazone refugee camp. Palestinian sources said Mubarak was a laborer on a US-aid project in the area. Israeli officials have confirmed the deadly shooting. However, they claimed that Mohammad was a \"terrorist\" who was shot dead after opening fire on Israeli forces. Many Palestinians including women and children get killed or maimed by Israeli forces despite repeated outcries by human rights groups.

Israeli forces have stormed a Palestinian home to arrest a 4-year-old child in Jerusalem al-Quds.
Muhammad al-Majid\'s father says Israeli forces woke up his little son in the middle of the night. He says, however, that they backed down from carrying out the arrest after seeing the child. Months ago, a two-and a half-year-old boy was about to be arrested in a similar attempt. Human rights organizations are warning that Palestinian children are routinely tortured and habitually threatened with rape by their Israeli captors. According to the independent organization of Defense for Children International, 179 Palestinian minors have been imprisoned and prosecuted in Israeli military courts, since September 30.
