Iran\'s First Vice President talked about the importance of OIC and its potentials. He stated that OIC through more cooperation among its member states can have a larger share of world trade.

The Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Co-operation of the Organization of Islamic Co-operation (COMCEC) was established in Mecca in 1981. The OIC is an organization of 57 Muslim countries that make up 22% of the world\'s population but only 11% of the world\'s GDP. The Organization of Islamic Co-operation has been working for four decades to contribute to the economic development of its members. Today the organisation has four trillion dollar economies, Indonesia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey, who together are responsible for nearly half of all the intra-OIC trade and foreign direct investment. This session of COMCEC covered topics ranging from the expansion of intra-OIC trade, financial co-operation, and better infrastructure to sustainable tourism and poverty eradication. Over 500 delegates from more than 50 countries and a dozen international organizations have met here today in Istanbul at the 29th international COMCEC conference. The main message of the conference is the need for greater co-operation and co-ordination between the member states of the OIC to increase trade which will be beneficial to all their economies.

Iran Urges Int'l Community to Halt Israeli Crimes TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hassan Qashqavi called on the United Nations and the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) to take immediate measures to bring an end to Israel's brutal attacks in the Gaza Strip. About 220 Palestinians were killed across the Gaza Strip on Saturday in massive air strikes carried out by the Zionist regime. This brutal and inhumane strike brings more shame upon Israel, MNA quoted Qashqavi as saying on Saturday. "Although this crime has apparently been committed to gain more votes in the election campaigns of the occupiers of the occupied territories, it also provides firm evidence that the Zionist regime's aggressive approach is continuing." He also criticized the members of the international community for their silence in the face of the disastrous situation in Gaza. "These crimes are the result of the painful silence of the international community in the response to the inhumane siege of oppressed men, women, and children in the Gaza Strip." The Foreign Ministry spokesman addressed the world bodies and so-called upholders of human rights, saying, "The important question in this issue is: Shouldn't attacking residential areas and massacring dozens of men, women, and children in the streets… cause any reaction or human feelings to arise, and shouldn't this be considered… a serious human rights issue?" Qashqavi also expressed his condolences to the Palestinians and emphasized that the Iranian nation and government strongly supports the oppressed Palestinian nation in their struggle against the Zionist regime.

The Hijab Martyr Marwa al-Sherbini, has inspired a group of multinational women to call the OIC (Organisation of the Islamic Conference) to declare July 1 the International Day of Hijab. Hijab is an expression of Muslim Women's freedom; and is a choice for them. Democracy is allegedly a pioneer of freedom and as a result should support the right of women to wear the Hijab. Instead Marwa al-Sherbini was murdered in cold blood by Alexander W (full name has never been released by German Authorities) in a German Courtroom with Judge, Jury and Lawyers present by the racist who had initially abused her and sparked the event which led to them being in court in the first place. Her husband was also shot by a police officer when he went to assist his wife; and their child looked on in horror as his mother was murdered and father was wounded. The western media has attempted to cover up this issue; and the exact condition of Marwa's husband is not known since Press TV has been denied access to him by the German authorities. The police officer who shot Marwa's husband has yet to be charged with his crimes and offences by the German authorities.

Deputy Chairman of the Majlis Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy Hossein Ebrahimi told Fars News Agency on Sunday that given the scientific capabilities of Iranian military, it will replicate the captured US-built stealth aircraft in the near future. He added that enemies cannot simply confront the Islamic Republic of Iran, since the country enjoys a variety of devices and advanced technologies that they are not aware of. Iranian military's electronic warfare units brought down the US RQ-170 Sentinel stealth aircraft on December 4 with minimal damage. The spy drone was flying over the eastern city of Kashmar, some 225km (140 miles) from the Afghan border. Iran earlier announced that it intends to carry out reverse engineering on the captured RQ-170 Sentinel stealth aircraft, which is also known as the Beast of Kandahar, and is similar in design to a US Air Force B-2 stealth bomber. On December 6, two US officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the drone was part of a CIA reconnaissance mission, involving the US intelligence community stationed in Afghanistan. They claimed the reconnaissance capability of the RQ-170 Sentinel drone enabled it to gather information from inside Iran by flying along Afghanistan's border with the Islamic Republic. The RQ-170 is an unmanned stealth aircraft designed and developed by the American company, Lockheed Martin. Iran has said that the US drone spy mission was a “hostile act”, adding that it will complain to the United Nations over the violation of its air sovereignty by the intelligence gathering aircraft. Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi also said earlier that Tehran would complain to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) about the recent violation of Iranian airspace by the American reconnaissance drone.
