He explains why he stayed there for slightly over a month and decided to return back to his home country instead of remaining there for Jihad, as is the case with other young Tunisians who were sent to Syria mainly by their imams (clerics). The interview corroborates some of other eyewitness accounts that accuse the FSA of committing massacres in order to frame the Syrian Army. He also states that no medical treatment was given to any foreign (Arab) Jihadist, which meant that any injury could end up in death. Mokdad told Press TV that the international community must give guarantees that President Bashar al-Assad will step down. He says the opposition, Syrian National Council will hold a vote to decide whether to take part in the conference or not. A few days ago, the leader of the FSA pledged to continue fighting despite the planned peace conference . The UN, US and Russia have been trying for months to persuade the foreign-backed opposition to attend the peace talks with the government in January. Damascus has said the Syrian people must decide on the future of the country and their government.

Syrian opposition sources say that hardly any insurgents from the al-Qaeda-affiliated group, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant are left in the northern city of Aleppo. The UK based Observatory for Human Rights says ISIL militants withdrew from the Inzarat neighborhood of Aleppo after clashes with militants from the so-called Free Syrian Army and other insurgent groups. The Observatory says the foreign-backed F-S-A had earlier overrun the I-S-I-L\'s headquarters in the city. The bodies of at least 42 people executed by I-S-I-L were reportedly found at the base. Meanwhile, some reports suggest that the ISIL has taken the upper hand against the FSA in the city of Raqqah. The al-Qaeda-linked group is said to be in control of several key positions in the city. A large number of people, including civilians, have been killed during the infighting.

The head of the so-called Free Syrian Army says his forces are ready to join the Syrian army and drive out al-Qaeda-linked terrorists who have taken over militant-held areas. General Salim Idris has described as very dangerous the militant group calling itself as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or the I-S-I-S. Thousands of foreign militants have in recent months joined its ranks. General Idris also claimed that besides fighting with Syrian forces, the F-S-A forces have fought another war with al-Qaeda at dozens of different locations over the past six months. The so-called Free Syrian Army also says that it has dropped the precondition for President Bashar al-Assad to leave power before the upcoming Geneva peace conference.

Dozens from both sides have been killed in clashes since Friday.
