[5] Imam Ali Responds to Mua'wiyah's Threat of War | Sheikh Azhar Nasser | English

You have said that I was dragged like a camel with a nose string to swear allegiance (to Abu Bakr at Saqifah). By the Eternal Allah, you had intended to revile me but you have praised me, and to humiliate me but have yourself been humiliated. What humiliation does it mean for a Muslim to be the victim of oppression so long as he does not entertain any doubt in his religion, nor any misgiving in his firm belief! This argument of mine is intended for others, but I have stated it to you only in so far as it was appropriate.
Then you have recalled my position vis-a- vis \'Uthman, and in this matter an answer is due to you because of your kinship with him. So (now tell me), which of us was more inimical towards \'Uthman and who did more to bring about his killing; or who offered him his support but he made him sit down and stopped him; or who was he whom he called for help but who turned his face from him and drew his death near him till his fate over took him? No, no; by Allah:
Indeed knoweth Allah those who hinder others among you and those who say unto their brethren \"Come hitherunto us\", and they come not to fight but a little. (Qur\'an 33:18)
I am not going to offer my excuse for reproving him for (some of) his innovations, for if my good counsel and guidance to him was a sin then very often a person who is blamed has no sin and “sometimes the only reward a counseller 4 reaps is suspicion (of evil)”.
I desired naught but reform what I am able to (do); and my guidance is not but with Allah; On Him (alone) do I rely, and unto Him (alone) do I turn. (Qur\'an, 11:88)
You have mentioned that for me and for my followers you have only the sword. This makes even a weeping person laugh. Did you ever see the descendants of \'Abd al-Muttalib running away from battle, or being frightened by swords? \"Wait a little till Hamal 5 joins the battle\" shortly, then he whom you are seeking will seek you and he whom you think to be far away will approach near you. I am (shortly) speeding towards you with a force of Muhajirun and Ansar and those who follow them in virtue. Their number will be great and their dust will spread all round. They will be wearing their shrouds and their most coveted desire is to meet Allah. They will be accompanied by the descendants of those who took part in the battle of Badr, and they will have Hashimite swords whose cut you have already seen in the case of your brother, maternal uncle, your grandfather and your kinsmen.
Nor are they far distant from the unjust ones. (Qur\'an, 11:83)

Everybody has a Khaybar.
And a \'Khaybar\' is a great fortress that seems to be undefeatable at face value, but with the power of the Almighty Allah and some sincere effort on our part, we can - in the end - come out victorious and triumphant.
But you\'re going to have to dig deep and figure out \"Where Is YOUR KHAYBAR Today?\"
It could very well be depression, anxiety, financial or familial problems, or even something like having no hope or not wanting to wake up in the morning.
But what two attributes are absolutely necessary if you want to be able to overcome and defeat YOUR Khaybar?
And what is a critical question that we must all ask ourselves that will help us to get through our struggles?
What does Imam Ali (A) say about the companions of Imam al-Mahdi (A), while keeping our discussion in view?
Finally, \"Where Is YOUR KHAYBAR Today?\" and perhaps more importantly, how will you defeat it and come out victorious?
Sister Spade explains and answers these questions and more, based upon selections from the book, The Essence of Creation, 3rd edition, as she asks us all a profound and necessary question, \"Where is YOUR KHAYBAR Today?\".
And remember, with the help of the Almighty Allah and some sincere effort on your part, you will definitely overcome YOUR Khaybar, even if it\'s waking up and living another day for the sake of Imam al-Mahdi (A).

The Victory of Martyrdom in the Resistance Front | IP Talk Show | English
Welcome to the Islamic Pulse Talk Show.
In this episode, we\'re talking about \"The Victory of Martyrdom in the Resistance Front\".
And yet, how can death be considered a victory?...
Welcome to the Islamic Pulse Talk Show.
In this episode, we\'re talking about \"The Victory of Martyrdom in the Resistance Front\".
And yet, how can death be considered a victory?
What are some interesting points about the martyrs of the Kerman terrorist attacks?
What are some examples of seemingly contradictory attributes that can come together in the framework of Islamic Monotheism, known as Tawheed?
And how do the holy Messenger of Allah (S) and Imam Ali (A) reflect the aforementioned concept?
How is the ideology of materialism inherently flawed and thus can never attain nor understand true reality?
What is a common denominator seen in the Arrogant Powers such as America and Great Britain, israel, and the Daesh/ISIS terrorist organization?
What kind of spiritual effects do the martyrs have upon the people who commemorate their path?
And finally, how is martyrdom the absolute victory?
In order to answer these questions and more, we humbly invited Sayyid Agha Ali Raza to come and speak to us about \"The Victory of Martyrdom in the Resistance Front\".
Our salutations and prayers to all the martyrs of the Resistance Front, especially the martyrs of the Kerman terrorist attacks.

This is the reality of the world where, according to U.N. estimates, one billion people in the world daily suffer from hunger and malnutrition, and their situation is not getting any better. About 24000 people die every day from hunger or hunger related causes. Three-fourths of the deaths are children under the age of five. -- HOW YOU CAN HELP - Don't waste natural resources. Be thankful to God for His gifts and blessings. Be mindful of your responsibility toward other human beings. Think about what the Prophet -pbuh- would do. Have mercy and compassion toward all humankind. Next time you spend money on those unnecessary luxuries of your life think for a moment about the plight of the poor and oppressed around the world. Be aware of the materialistic forces and the contradictions of the dominant economic systems that are at the roots of global inequality. Don't become a part of this system. Don't become a slave of consumerism and endless materialistic rat-race -- Among other things join a local organization that is working against structural and subtle forms of oppression like hunger, poverty, illiteracy, domestic violence, anorexia and bulimia and their connection to media, mass entertainment, perfect body images, etc. If there isn't any - start one today! -- You can also look into doing online activism. Check out moveon.org's work for ideas. Some online organizations also invite web surfers to click on their sites regularly. They say every click earns them revenue to support their causes. The Hunger Site is an example. Some may also invite you to buy their T-shirts and other souvenirs. I guess you can buy these items if you think they can help spread the word and encourage people to join a good cause. Otherwise in general more shopping and more consumption cannot be a solution to human suffering. And its not a good idea to sell consumers to products through clicks or ads. That feeds into the same loop of consumerism. My suggestion - Adopt Simplicity and Donate directly! And encourage others to do the same! - Lastly remember the advice IMAM ALI gave in his LAST WILL ---- MY ADVICE to you is to be conscious of Allah and steadfast in your religion. Do not yearn for the world and do not be seduced by it. Do not resent anything you have missed in it. Proclaim the truth - work for the next world. Oppose the oppressor and support the oppressed.---- Become a friend and supporter of the oppressed people and an enemy of the oppressors and all forms of oppression!

O Lord! grant me in this day from your widespread rehmats
Guide me towards clear arguments(dalail)
Drag me by pulling me thru my forehead towards your complete satisfaction/obedience
for the sake of your love,O shelter of the desperate people!!
A stretegy is given here for what are things that you should get in this month
There are many people who are getiing refuge from hellfire in this month, many getting different rehmat in this month,,oh Lord when your rehma are generally being given to everyone, grant me some as well,,ofcourse here the main rehamt asked is the from the spirituality,,
Guide me towards your Dalail:This whole world,,is an ayat of Allah,,all of us know,,many satellites in a galaxy come between other galaxies of many satellites and stars,,and nothing goies wrong,,Ahl Bait plus Quran are clear dalleel of God,,Out of all these ayaats,,grant me o Lord that i understand these clearly,,,otherwise many times it happens Hujat E Khuda is right in front of them but people dont see him at all,,Event of Kerbala is one of its example,,help me towards acknowleding your ayaats clearly,,
Many people strive hard in the world,,spend their lives with hardship and continuous efforts,,but when they draw near death,,they realize that whatever they had been doing has no value at all,,all that i did was for this world which i will be departing from, soon,,,
And even if i am disobedient,,drag me thru my forehead towards your complete obedience:sometime a person gets addicted,,now he wants to get rid of it but cant do it,so allows the caregivers to do whatever way by restraining me get me out of it,,,likewise o Lord,,we are indulged but we realize that salvation lies in your obedience,,so pull me yourself towards You
Although this guidance towards God's obedience is not one sided,,rather we are supposed to do our part,,not just praying,,God has made this world on the principle of freedom of action,,no body is bound to do ,,,otherwise God would forcibly stop the oppressors from oppression and forcibly take people towards good deeds,,but the fact is He has given us the freedom,,
So when one prays here that O Lord guide me towards your obedience, this means provide me with the resources that take me towards your obedience,,for example put the love of Quran in my heart,or grant me with the love of Alh Lul Bait,,or grant me the hatred for the enemies so that i never feel pleasure in their company,,,
For the sake of your Love:Creator of moms love is our Lord,,for those who are desperate like the Aarif people,,let us know the pleasure of your love,,
Seek God's love in your fasts,,prostrate for longer duration,,May Allah accept our deeds,,and inshAllah please our Present Imam(ameen)

Friends, let this not come as a surprise to you. This is the reality we are living in where it is ‘estimated that one billion people in the world suffer from hunger and malnutrition. That’s roughly 100 times as many as those who actually die from these causes each year. About 24,000 people die every day from hunger or hunger related causes… Three-fourths of the deaths are children under the age of five.’
--HOW YOU CAN HELP --
Don’t waste natural resources. Be thankful to God for His gifts and blessings. Be mindful of your responsibility toward other human beings. Think about what the Prophet (saws) would do. Have mercy and compassion toward all humankind. Next time you spend money on those unnecessary luxuries of your life, think for a moment about the plight of the poor and oppressed around the world. Be aware of the materialistic forces and the contradictions of the dominant economic systems that are at the roots of global inequality. Don’t become a part of this system. Don’t become a slave of consumerism and endless materialistic competition.
Understand that it is not enough to just keep yourself from engaging in consumerism. It's not always easy to protect yourself and your family against the multi-billion dollar industry of marketing. Join forces with other like-minded people. Strengthen your communities that can serve as a buffer against corporations. Engage in collective action. Transform people's consciousness and hyper-consumeristic lifestyles. Among other things, join a local organization that is working against subtle forms of oppression, like hunger, poverty, illiteracy, domestic violence, anorexia and bulimia, perfect body images, and endless materialistic competition. If there isn’t any, start one today!
For ideas, you can look into doing online activism. Check out moveon.org’s work. Some online organizations also invite web surfers to click on their sites regularly. I guess, you can buy these items if you think they can help spread the word and encourage people to join a good cause. But, in general, more shopping and more consumption cannot be a solution to human suffering. Selling consumers to products through clicks or ads is exactly what we need to shun. Because that feeds into the same loop of consumerism. My suggestion: Donate directly! And, encourage others to do the same!
Lastly, remember the advice Imam Ali gave in his Last Will:
“My advice to you is to be conscious of Allah and steadfast in your religion. Do not yearn for the world, and do not be seduced by it. Do not resent anything you have missed in it. Proclaim the truth; work for the next world. Oppose the oppressor and support the oppressed.”

Manchester, England. 1 March 2008. Five years after the invasion of Iraq, two leading opponents of the US-led occupations in the Middle East come to Manchester to talk about the reality of the War on Terror on the ground at a public rally. The event is organised by the Stop the War Coalition as part of its build up to the World Against War demonstrations that were due to take place globally on March 15th 2008.
This meeting is a chance to hear key figures from the Middle East and leading
activists and writers from Britain discuss the impact of the war on terror and
the continuing campaign to get the troops out.
The speakers include two eyewitness reports from Iraq and Lebanon:
1. Ibrahim al-Moussawi is editor of the Lebanese Hezbollah newspaper, al-Intiqad, and one of the key spokespeople for the popular resistance to the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 2006.
2. Hassan Juma'a is President of the Iraqi Oil Workers Federation, and a leader of the campaign to stop the US-led privatisation of Iraqi oil.
They are joined at the rally by Chris Nineham, national chair of the Stop the War Coalition.
Ibrahim Mousawi defies a campaign by warmongering Conservative Party leader, David Cameron, to keep him out of the country. "Governments should not censor what people have to say and confiscate the right of intelligent people to decide what to hear or not to hear. I'm a staunch defender of political freedoms and freedom of speech," retorted al-Moussaw.
This particular clip shows Ibrahim al-Moussawi, editor of the Hezbollah newspaper, speaking at the event.

Peace be upon you. Oh daughter of the Commander of the faithful a.s. Peace be upon you Oh daughter of Fatima a.s. Two Worlds Radiant Lady s.a. Peace be upon you. We speak of Hazrat Zainab s.a. She well conveyed the message of Karbala s uprising and tragedy to the world and today it is a great honor for Muslims to follow this great lady as an example in their lives. Truly when an individual spends his or her life in support of truth and establishment of divine values - his or her name will remain eternal in history and his or her lifestyle will inspire the future generations. That is why the name of Zainab s.a. and her lifestyle has influenced many people - even non Muslims. Ms. Carin from Germany - after embracing Islam - chose Zainab s.a. as her first name. Regarding her incentive in choosing this name she says - I was always interested in the life story of the holy Prophet of Islam s.a.w.a.w and his household. I was specially affected by the story of uprising of Imam Hussein a.s. in Karbala and the personality of Hazrat Zainab s.a. in the events of Karbala. The self-sacrifices of that great lady while bearing the heavy grief of martyrdom of her brother and other companions are praiseworthy. Hazrat Zainab s.a. was a lady of knowledge virtue bravery and patience. These characteristics helped her carry out her mission in Karbala uprising in the company of Imam Hussein a.s. Hazrat Zainab s lifestyle contains instructive points for me and whenever I come across a problem I immediately remember Her. For her name brings me tranquility. That is why I adopted the name of Zainab after embracing Islam. Hazrat Zainab s.a. was brought up under instructions of a father like Imam Ali a.s. and a mother like Fatema s.a. and she benefited greatly from these two personalities. Historians say Hazrat Zainab inherited bravery honesty and fluency in speech from her father Imam Ali a.s. and kindness and loyalty from her mother Hazrat Fatema s.a. She made great efforts in giving religious training to the women of her time and thus many women at that time benefited from Hazrat Zainab s knowledge and teachings. Hazrat Zainab s.a. spent her fruitful life in promoting monotheism and assuming divine responsibilities and her heroic participation in the greatest epic of history - namely the uprising of Imam Hussein a.s. in Karbala brought her a lasting name. You wont find a single person who is familiar with Karbala tragedy and has not heard of Hazrat Zainab s.a. Zainab s.a. conveyed the message of Imam Hussein s uprising to territories beyond Karbala desert. She encouraged the warriors and sympathized with the injured. She was so bound to the fulfillment of her religious obligations that even at those critical conditions she did not forget to say her prayers at night. Imam Sajjad a.s. says - I saw my aunt Hazrat Zainab s.a. saying her prayers while sitting. A major part of Hazrat Zainab s mission started when Karbala tragedy apparently ended with the martyrdom of Imam Hussein a.s. This chapter of Hazrat Zainab s life began with conveying the message of Ashura in which she heroically defended the rights of the household - ahlul bait - and did not permit the enemies to take advantage of Karbala tragedy. In this tragedy the Omayyud ruler Yazid l.a. and his followers l.a. thought that they had succeeded in creating a negative image of the holy Prophet s household but when the caravan of the household members now in captivity arrived in Kufa - Hazrat Zainab s.a. behaved in such a way that she managed to turn the so-called victory of the Omayyud into a defeat. In her famous address She changed the mentality of the people of Kufa and Damascus. She symbolized a shining sun who reflected light into everything. Although Hazrat Zainab s.a. did not live long after Karbala tragedy she sowed the seeds of awareness in the entire Islamic society. This great lady passed away in 62 AH after she made lots of efforts in the path of truth. Once again we offer our condolences and bring you an excerpt from her historic statement addressed to Yazid. She says - O Yazid practice any trick you can and do anything that you think would vanish Islam. But you should know that you can not eradicate our message our path and our remembrance. You should know that our remembrance will never die. MAY OUR LIVES BE SACRIFICED FOR HAZRAT ZAINAB s.a.
