Tel Aviv returns the remains of a young Palestinian woman who died during the second Intifada or uprising against the Israeli occupation 12 years ago. Palestinians in the West Bank town of Bethlehem were jubilant as an ambulance carrying the remains of Ayat al-Akhras arrived. The family is expected to bury the 18-year-old\\\'s remains on Monday. Akhras was killed in 2002 at the height of the second Palestinian Intifada. She died after she detonated an explosive belt in West Jerusalem al-Quds killing two Israelis. The remains of over 280 Palestinians killed in confrontations with Israeli forces are still held in Israel. Tel Aviv has agreed to return the remains of 36 Palestinians but has only released six bodies so far.

It was an ill-fated day 50 years ago when an assassin shot former President John F. Kennedy. The president was traveling in a motorcade with his wife Caroline in Dallas, Texas in 1963. He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Lee Harvey Oswald was accused of the crime and he was later shot and killed by Jack Ruby. Oswald never stood trial. Since that time, speculation has swirled around why Kennedy was targeted. It still haunts journalists who reported from the tragedy. Kennedy was the 35th US president. An investigation by the Associated Press has found that an American who went missing in southern Iran seven years ago was a CIA agent. Robert Levinson vanished during a visit to Kish island in March 2007. The US government said he was on a business trip when he disappeared. But the findings of the AP investigation show the CIA sent Levinson to Iran on a spying mission and later paid his family 2.5 million dollars to head off a revealing lawsuit. Tehran has repeatedly said it has no information about the whereabouts of Levinson but is ready to help locate him on humanitarian grounds.

The Taliban have admitted that they hid the death of their former leader Mullah Omar for two years. The group says the news had to be kept secret until foreign forces left Afghanistan. The Taliban confirmed in July that Omar died but did NOT clarify the date. Many insurgents have accused the top leadership of keeping them in the dark while issuing statements in his name. The cover-up was explained in a biography of new Taliban chief Mullah Akhtar Mansour.
