- Humans are complex creatures, both physically and psychologically
- God mentions knowledge as the second most precious blessing, however he also emphasizes our rebellious nature in Sura 96
- Our challenge is to control and channel that rebellious nature
- Looking at the example of the drama that unfolded at Capitol Hill in Washington DC, following the incitement from US President Donald Trump
- Ignorance or poverty were not the causes for this destruction and disturbance of the final verification of the presidential election which found Biden as the winner
- Rather it was ego, and greed for power which pushed the President to urge his followers to riot
- The way this rebellious crowd was able to gain access to the Capitol without much resistance shows the double standard when you compare with the firm attitude of the police against rallies for black lives matters.
- In the Muslim world, we see some religious leaders who exploit the sentiments of their followers and create a hype against Shi‘a minorities in Pakistan in the name of honouring the ṣaḥābah
- In Baluchistan province, 11 Shi‘a coal miners from the Hazara tribe were kidnapped from their campsite, taken to the mountains with their hands tied at their backs and then brutally killed
- The inaction by the authorities is a deafening statement
- Shi‘as have challenged the Salafi extremists to come and talk about the differences by using books and not bullets

The US trade deficit with China reached $315 billion last year, a record unsurpassed in the history of such statistics.
In April, US exports to the 27-nation European Union fell 7.9 percent. Exports to the EU in the first four months of 2013 were down 7.4 percent compared to the same period in 2012.
Exports to the United Kingdom were the lowest since May 2009, while those to China declined 4.7 percent.
Imports from China surged 21.2 percent, lifting the contentious US trade deficit with China to $24.1 billion from $17.9 billion in March.
China keeps investing in its future, creating jobs, building infrastructure, funding education and technology and its GDP soars. And America keeps sliding into a no-growth economy, to 1% GDP growth in a generation.
According to Robert Fogel, the director of the Center for Population Economics at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and winner of the 1993 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics; \"In 2040, the Chinese economy will reach $123 trillion, or nearly three times the economic output of the entire globe in 2000. China\'s per-capita income will hit $85,000, more than double the forecast for the European Union, and also much higher than that of India and Japan as China moves \"from a poor country in 2000 to a superrich country in 2040.\"
America\'s per-capita wealth may be higher, says Fogel, but \"China\'s share of global GDP - 40% - will dwarf that of the United States (14%) and the European Union (5%) 30 years from now.\"
China has been one of the fastest growing markets for US goods, and exports to that country were up 4.8 percent for the first four months of 2013.

These are the newly-elected members of Pakistan\'s National Assembly. Members of the lower House of Parliament formally took oath, marking a historic democratic transition from one civilian administration to another. This time, the National Assembly has seen many new faces because of the emergence of a new political party led by Pakistan\'s cricketer-turned politician Imran Khan. But the focus is now on this man. The party of two-time former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has emerged as winner in the May 11 Parliamentary elections both in the center of Pakistan and Punjab.

Khamenei Meeting with Election Officials
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says individual votes determine the fate of an election, adding that the law must be observed in every stage of the electoral process.
The Leader made the remarks in a Monday (May 6th, 2013) meeting with the officials in charge of holding Iran\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s presidential and local council elections on June 14.
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"No one should say my one vote will have no effect on the fate of the elections because these individual votes ultimately [become] millions of votes and determine the outcome of elections,\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The Leader said the participation of people in the upcoming vote would ensure the immunity and progress of Iran, and speed up the country\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s general move towards higher achievements.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the extensive responsibilities of the president in the Iranian Constitution make this election extremely important.
The Leader added that voters must consider the qualifications of the candidates and choose with care the person who will be tasked with running the country.
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"...qualifications such as diligence, popularity and adherence to values must be taken into consideration,\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" Ayatollah Khamenei stated.
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"Western and materialistic expressions such as winner and loser must not enter election discourse...in [every] election naturally the expectations of some people about their [desired] candidate are not met...but [these people] must behave according to the law,\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" the Leader said.
Ayatollah Khamenei said while efforts have been made to reduce popular interest in or delay the elections but such efforts had and would continue to fail.

[23 June 2012] Egypt may be facing hard coup - English
Egyptian protesters have remained in Cairo's iconic Liberation Square, protesting the delay in announcing the winner of the presidential elections and the risk of a coup by the country's military rulers. A delay in the run-off results, which had been due on Thursday, has raised widespread suspicions that the result is being negotiated rather than counted. Many fear that the delay is the army's move to declare former premier Shafiq the winner.
Press TV has conducted an interview yesterday with Hisham Jaber, director of the Center for Middle East Studies, to hear his opinion on this issue.

Thousands of angry Egyptians have camped out in the historic square since Wednesday, calling on the military council to quit power immediately as the electoral authorities delayed the announcement of the final results of the presidential run-off on Thursday as scheduled. Egypt's election committee said on Wednesday they want to look into all complaints from the two candidates before making an announcement. The protesters say the move could be a sign that the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) is trying to declare former premier Ahmed Shafiq the winner.
Egyptians cast their ballots in a two-day presidential runoff election on June 16 and 17, which pitted the candidate of the Muslim Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party, Mohammed Morsi, against Shafiq. On June 18, a member of the Egyptian Electoral Committee confirmed that Morsi is in the lead in the country's run-off presidential election. Early on the day, the Brotherhood had declared Morsi's victory over Shafiq in the voting. Officials from the group had said that Morsi has won 52.5 percent of the counted ballots.
