A senior Russian lawmaker says US attempts to influence the situation in Ukraine are a desire to take revenge for Washington\'s defeat in Syria. Alexei Pushkov says US interference in Ukraine is to show that the West is still the force that determines the course of events in global affairs. He emphasized that the West\'s meddling in the events in Ukraine suggests that the country is treated as a semi-colony. Pushkov also says the direct involvement of the EU and the US in Ukraine is a new form of political aggression. Ukraine has been hit with a wave of political unrest since late November when President Viktor Yanukovych refused to sign a trade pact with the European Union.

A British lawmaker has slammed Israel\'s attempts to undermine the recent deal between Iran and the permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany.
Galloway says Tel Aviv is trying to undermine Iran\'s nuclear deal while it never allows the IAEA to inspect its nuclear sites. He says Israel accuses Iran of being after nukes, while Tehran has had regular international inspections. The British MP says Iran has never invaded any country in centuries and never occupied anyone else\'s territory. He said Tehran is also a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, whereas Tel Aviv is not and also stands guilty of invasion and occupation. Galloway called Israel an international law-breaker which is not facing any penalties.

Iran\'s Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham described the terrorist attacks as an inhumane crime by the Israeli regime and its mercenaries. Meanwhile, the Secretary of Iran\'s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani has condemned the attacks, saying they show the frustration of Tel Aviv and its like-minded terrorist groups. The two blasts outside Iran\'s diplomatic mission in Beirut have left at least 23 people dead. Informed sources say six security guards of the embassy have also been killed. Over a hundred and 40 others were injured as well. Lebanese officials say Iran\'s cultural attaché Ibrahim Ansari has also been killed. An al-Qaeda-linked group, known as Abdullah Azzam, has claimed responsibilty for the attacks.
