Why is the Institution for Enjoining Good and Forbidding Evil so incredibly important?
What are the three free thinking fundamentals?
Furthermore, why are logic, ethics, and freedom equally important?
Additionally, does the freedom of criticism, expression, and freedom to question anyone exist in the Islamic Republic\\\'s System?
What are the things that are forbidden all over the world and not just in the Islamic Republic of Iran?
And finally, how can we avoid falling into chaos and/or dictatorship?
Ustad Rahimpour Azghadi explains the importance of logic, ethics, and freedom for maintaining equilibrium and avoiding the trap of dictatorship or utter chaos, as he connects the three speaking about \\\"Freedom, Logic, Ethics, and the Islamic Republic\\\".

Pioneers Of Hypocrisy - التفسير الأقوم - English
Allah’s Curse for the Hypocrites
Surah At-Tawbah – Verse 67
الْمُنَافِقُونَ وَالْمُنَافِقَاتُ بَعْضُهُم مِن بَعْضٍ يَأْمُرُونَ...
Allah’s Curse for the Hypocrites
Surah At-Tawbah – Verse 67
67. “The hypocrite men and the hypocrite women are as one another; they enjoin evil and forbid good, and they keep their hands shut. They have forsaken Allah, so He has forsaken them, (too). The hypocrites are indeed the transgressors.”
The Signs of the Hypocrites
In this verse, the Qur’ān points to a general matter. It implies that the spirit of hypocrisy may appear in different shapes, and the form of ostentation in particular. The spirit of hypocrisy may be different in a man and in a woman, but the variety of the features of hypocrisy among hypocrites should not deceive us.
Therefore, the verse says:
“The hypocrite men and the hypocrite women are as one another…”
After mentioning that meaning, the verse refers to five epithets out of the hypocrite’s qualities as follows:
The first and the second epithets of the hypocrites are that they usually encourage people to evil and restrain them from good.
That is, contrast to the program of the true believers who ceaselessly, through enjoining good and forbidding evil, try to improve the society and to purify it from pollution and corruption, the hypocrites always try to expand corruption everywhere and to dismiss goodness from the society. The verse says:
“…they enjoin evil and forbid good…”
Their third epithet is that they neither spend in the way of Allah, nor do they help the deprive, nor do they financially assist their relatives and those who are familiar with them. The verse says:
“…and they keep their hands shut…”
The fourth quality of the hypocrites is that all their deeds, statements, and behaviours denote that they have forgotten the Lord, and also the situation of their lives indicates that the Lord has deprived them from some of His bounties, successes, and merits, too. The signs of these two abandonments are vividly reflected in their lives. The verse continues saying:
“…They have forsaken Allah, so He has forsaken them, (too)…”
The fifth quality of theirs is that they are impious and they live outside the circle of the obedience of Allah, i.e. not only they are mischievous, but also they are disobedient. The verse concludes as follows:
“…The hypocrites are indeed the transgressors.”
Whatever was said in this verse about the qualifications of the hypocrites is seen in such people in any age.
Surah At-Tawbah – Verse 68
68. “Allah has promised the hypocrite men and the hypocrite women and the infidels, the Fire of Hell, to abide in it forever. That is enough for them, Allah has cursed them, and for them is a lasting chastisement.”
The promise of Hell, stated in the abovementioned holy verse, is decreed at first for the hypocrites and secondly for the disbelievers.
Whatever more apparently fitting the hypocrites settle themselves in the row of the believers in this world, it is of no vail and they will be in the row of disbelievers in Hereafter.
The verse says:
“Allah has promised the hypocrite men and the hypocrite women and the infidels, the Fire of Hell, to abide in it forever…”
And since Hell is the collection of any pain, affliction and tribution, then it is enough for the hypocrites and infidels both. The verse continues saying:
“…That is enough for them, Allah has cursed them, and for them is a lasting chastisement.”
Surah At-Tawbah – Verse 69
69. “(O’ hypocrites! You are) like those who were before you, they were stronger than you I power and more abundant in wealth and children; so they enjoyed their portion; thus do you enjoy your portion as those before you did enjoy their portion; and you indulge in vain discourses as they indulged. These are those whose works are null in this world and the Hereafter, and those are the losers.”
An Admonition and a Warning
In order to awaken this group of the hypocrites, the abovementioned holy verse puts the mirror of the history before them and, comparing them with the former stubborn hypocrites, it teaches them the most instructive lessons.

Juz 12 is the completion of Surah Hud (118 verses of the total 123 verses) and the start of Surah Yusuf (52 verses of the total 111 verses). Both Surahs from this Juz are Meccan. This podcast hones in on punishment and why Allah (swt) punishes as mentioned in Surah Hud. Punishment is not a result of Allah’s oppression, rather it is direct result of a people wronging themselves. Emphasis is placed on being reformers towards good and forbidding evil to prevent self- destruction. Allah (swt) does not unjustly destroy people trying to improve things for the better.

[Friday Sermon] The 3 Alifs to Live By | How to Approach Our Desires - Maulana Syed Muhammad Rizvi | English

- Importance of reminding ourselves of the mission of Imam Hussain (a.s).
- In a will to his brother, Muhammad Hanafia, Imam Hussain (a.s) explains the purpose of his actions in 4 points:
-- He negates wrong motives towards himself knowing that people would try to portray him as having ulterior motives.
-- He then expresses what his purpose is, to seek reformation in the community of his grandfather.
-- He explains the method of the Islamic law that he is using: bidding people to do good and forbidding them from evil.
-- And lastly he confirms that what he is doing is continuing the path of his grand father and his father.
- Reform should be an ongoing process at an individual and collective level.
- Examples of reformation on a personal level: focusing on improving our prayers, reflections of our fasts, giving charity, reflection on our means of livelihood etc..
- Examples of reformation on a social level by taking lessons from Karbala: brotherhood and unity of fellow Muslims in spite of the diversity in race, colour, language and ethnic background, outlook towards Muslim community on a global level, outlook towards non-Muslim etc..
- Importance of responding to Imam Hussain’s(a.s) call by submitting our heart, ears, mind, eyes, opinions and desires to him.
- When our heart is longing for something that is not permissible then make the choice that Imam Hussain(a.s)would make.
- We are surrounded by different circles around us.
- Inner circle are the Shias of the Ahlulbayt.
- Bigger circle around it, is the Muslim community.
- Outer bigger circle is the humanity at large.
- 3 Alif to keep in mind when interacting which each circle of groups:
-- Ithaar which means to sacrifice. For the inner circle the expectation is to have willingness to sacrifice for one another.
-- Infaaq which means to be charitable. This needs to be applied towards the Muslim community at large.
-- Insaaf which means to be just. The minimum requirement towards the humanity at large is to be just towards them. That doesn’t mean you don’t need to be charitable towards them either.
- Ilm-ul Ghayb (knowledge of the unseen) is only given to the chosen ones by the grace of Allah.(s.w.t).
- Narration of the story of the thirst of Hur and his army to show that Imam Hussain(a.s) had ilm-e ghayb.
- Imam Hussain(a.s) did not ask Hur if he had come as a supporter or an enemy. He saw they were thirsty and he quenched their thirst. That’s called humanity. Yet he was denied water in Karbala.
- He used his ilm-e ghayb in order to guide others but he would never use it for his own benefit. That was his test and trial. He knew water would be stopped yet he did not fill extra water for his own self.
- He personally used less water then others. On the day of Ashura, the most thirsty person was Imam Hussain (a.s).
- We need to reflect and see how we treat one another.
- Importance for volunteers to realize that those who come for the commemoration are the guests of Imam Hussain(a.s) and the volunteer is the host on behalf of Imam Hussain(a.s). So they should treat the guests well.
- It’s the kindness that Imam Hussain (a.s) showed towards them, that eventually brought back Hur to Imam’s camp and he then attained martyrdom.

The BISKIT Guy explains the “Don’t Judge Me” attitude, where it stems from and why it’s problematic. Every Muslim has encountered this issue before - you try and advise someone not to do something haram and they immediately go, “don’t judge me!”. *sigh*. Let’s bury this mutated symptom of a depraved Western society and recognize it for what it is: it is SECULARISM - and not ISLAM.
LOOSE DEFINITION OF SECULARISM: : \\\\\\\"indifference to or rejection or exclusion of religion and religious considerations.”
LOOSE DEFINITION OF ISLAM: “The one, true, divine & complete religion for all of humanity.”
…they’re opposites, guys!

In this lecture Sheikh Mansour talks about two important issues: the importance of the obligation and the conditions of amr bil ma\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'roof wa nahi anil munkar (enjoining good and forbidding evil). He also elaborates on the importance of fulfilling this obligation, and ties this all in to the comtemporary issue of how we use Social Media, and the most Islamic way to use this platform and not to fall into the trap of shaytan. A really important lecture for anyone seeking to gain closeness to Allah (swt) through fulfilling the obligation of enjoining good and forbidding evil.
Also, since this lecture was delivered in Muharram, he concludes with a majlis for the infant son of Imam Husain (as).

[Audio][05] Distortions of Ashura - by Martyr Ayatullah Murtada Mutahhari - English

I will cite some instances of tahrif, of which a few relate to the events that occurred before \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Ashura\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\', some that occurred during the Imam\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s way, some during the days of his final halt at Karbala\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' in the month of Muharram. I will also mention some of them that relate to the days of his family\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s captivity and some about the Imams who lived after the event of Karbala\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'. However, most of them will relate to the day of \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Ashura\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' itself.
It is essential to mention a point at first, and that is that the people are responsible in all these cases. You folks who attend the majalis sessions imagine that you have no responsibility in this regard, and think that it is only the speakers who are responsible. The people have two major responsibilities. The first is that of nahy \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'anil-munkar (forbidding what is wrong) which is obligatory for all. When they find out and know-and most of the time they do know!-that a narrative is untrue, they should not sit in that gathering. It is forbidden to sit in such gatherings and one must protest against them. Secondly, they must try to get rid of the eagerness and expectation which the hosts as well as the audience attending the majalis have for the majlis to become fervid, that there should be impassioned mourning and the majlis should get feverish with cries of the mourners. The poor speaker knows that if he were to say only things that are true and authentic, the majlis would not get into a frenzy and the same people will not invite him again. Hence he is compelled to add something.
The people should get this expectation out of their heads and refrain from encouraging the kind of fictitious narratives which kill the soul of Karbala but work up the mourners into a frenzy. The people should hear the true narrative so that their understanding and level of thinking is elevated. They should know that if a sentence creates a tremor in one\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s souls and attunes it with the spirit of Husayn ibn \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Ali and, as a result, one small tear were to come out of one\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s eyes, it is really a precious station. But tears drawn by the scenes of mere butchery, even if a deluge, are worthless.
The expectation of the people that the majlis should go wild with mourning is itself a source of falsehoods. Accordingly, most of the fabrications that have occurred have been for the purpose of drawing tears, nothing else.

Amr bil Maroof Nahi Anil Munkar (Enjoining good & forbidding evil) & How to perform Amr bil Maroof Nahi Anil Munkar by Agha Hassan Mujtaba Rizvi at Al-Haadi Musalla. Amongst the greatest obligations are amr-bil-Ma’roof (ordering for acknowledged virtues) and nahi anil munkar (forbidding from sin). Allah (SWT) says: “And there should be a group amongst you who invite towards good, order for acknowledged virtues, forbid from sin and these it is that are the successful ones” (Ale Imran: 104). The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) said: “How will it be for you when your women will commit sins and your youth will transgress and you will not order for acknowledged virtues nor forbid from sin? It was said to him: “Will that happen O messenger of Allah?” Then he (S.A.W.) said: Yes. Then he said: “How will it be for you when you order for sins and forbid from acknowledged virtues?” Then it was said to him: “O messenger of Allah(S.A.W.)! Will that happen?” Then he said: “Yes and worse than that how will it be for you when you perceive acknowledged virtue as sin and perceive sin as acknowledged virtue?”
