Ayatollah Sayyid Abul Qasim al-Khoei was a prominent scholar and Religious Authority of the Shia world during the 20th century. He passed away on August 8, 1992. Although a formal funeral ceremony for him was not allowed by the Ba'athist regime, this clip is an excerpt from the video footage captured by one of the government intelligence agents depicting the late Ayatollah's body being taken to the shrine of Imam Ali [as] in Najaf, his funeral prayers being presided over by Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Sistani, and his body being laid to rest near Amirul Momineen's grave.
