How to make a colourful rainbow cake roll with delicious whipped cream cheese filling.
Cake recipe:
5 egg yolks
2/3 cup granulated sugar (divided into two 1/3 cup portions)
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest
5 egg whites
2/3 cup cake flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
3 tablespoons melted butter
Beat egg yolks until thickened and lightened, gradually add 1/3 cup of the granulated sugar, the lemon juice and the lemon zest continue to beat until thick and light yellow.
Beat egg whites until soft peaks form then gradually beat in the remaining 1/3 cup sugar. Beat until stiff peaks form. Fold yolk mixture into whites. Sift dry ingredients into a separate container; add to egg mixture, folding in carefully. Fold in melted butter.
Divide batter into 6 portions and tint each portion a different colour of the rainbow.
Place batter into individual ziplock bags or a pastry bags
Prepare a cookie sheet by lining it with waxed or parchment paper.
Draw stripes with the batter onto the parchment, decide whether you want to have long lengthways (parallel) stripes or short perpendicular stripes. Keep in mind that if you make a rectangle shape you will be rolling from the long end. My cake covered about 15\"x12\" and I used up almost all the batter.
Baked at 375F for about 10-12 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean, the cake is firm to the touch and the edges may be just the slightest bit brown (you don\'t want the whole cake to be brown, that is overcooked).
Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly.
Flip the cake over onto a clean damp cloth and remove the parchment paper carefully.
Place a second dampened cloth over the cake and flip the cake back over to expose the \"good\" side (side next to parchment paper).
Remove the top cloth and then roll up the cake into the cloth and allow to cool completely.
Unroll and fill with whipped cream or ice cream then re-roll cake.
Refrigerate for 1-2 hours to chill completely and allow the filling to set.
Keep refrigerated.

Media reports say the US is re-visiting its options on Syria to step up pressure on the Arab nation.
U-S paper The Wall Street Journal says the move means Washington will again consider military and intelligence options, that were previously presented to the White House but set aside in favor of pursuing international talks. The options reportedly range from expanding efforts to train and equip insurgents, to setting-up no-fly zones over Syria. This comes as the U-S is already funding and supplying arms to the militants fighting to topple the Syrian government. The arms supplies have however failed to make changes on the ground in Syria in favor of the insurgents.

[19 June 2012] Israeli citizen gives up citizenship - English
24 year old Andrey Pshenichnikov is in the French capital with a purpose that goes beyond tourism.
This is his passport, the one he wants to renounce. In the past, some Israelis have managed to get their citizenship revoked, but there are no known cases of these Israelis applying for Palestinian residency or a Palestinian passport.
Born in Tajikistan before the collapse of the Soviet Union, Andrey Pshenichnikov's parents moved to Russia in search of a better life.
And then the family moved to Israel.
It took only a little while before he discovered the darker side of his new country.
This experience influenced his years as a soldier of the Israeli Defense Forces.
Instead, Andrey Pshenichnikov lived and worked at the Deheishe Refugee Camp near Bethlehem, first in hotels and then in construction.
He is also open to the idea of settling down in Gaza.
Andrey Pshenichnikov says Israeli authorities have black listed him as a terrorist.
And he believes, it's easier to give up his citizenship when he's out of Israel.
He hopes, his decision will set an example and inspire others to follow.
The process to renounce his citizenship could be a lengthy one, one that Andrey Pshenichnikov says he is willing to face.

[23 July 2012] Pakistan Supreme Court takes up petitions against contempt law - English
The Supreme Court has finally taken up 26 constitutional petitions seeking to strike down new contempt law which gives discriminatory immunity to Prime Minister, the President and other key public office holders from prosecution on contempt of court charges.
The petitioners pleaded before the Supreme Court that new law is designed to curtail the power of court to punish Prime Minister and other public office holder who are refusing to reopen money laundering cases of millions of dollars against President Asif Ali Zardari.

Iran says it\\\'s NOT ready to give up research on centrifuges as part of a final deal with the six countries involved.
Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has said that Iran is going to discuss various aspects of its nuclear program in the upcoming negotiations. However, he added that technology and science have nothing to do with the proliferation of nuclear weapons. Iran is set to resume talks with the five members of the UN Security Council plus Germany in Vienna on February 18. Diplomats say the development of a new advanced centrifuge is going to be at the heart of the talks. Under an interim deal reached in November, Tehran can engage in research and development of centrifuges.

Some people propose that Islam teaches us to be humble and soft even against the oppressors and tyrants. They say, we should only pray for their guidance and not resist at all!
Others say that we need to resist against the oppressors but within a threshold that does not risk our material assets - our lives, our families, our wealth, our professional career, our social status and our lives of comfort.
WHAT DOES ISLAM TEACH US?
Imam Ruhollah Khomeini (R) highlights that throughout history, whoever rose up for the establishment of justice and Islamic government, faced the repercussions. And we have no complaints! There is and has always been a price that the true believers paid for standing up against the system of oppression.
Rest assured, if you are being effective in fighting the system of oppression, sooner or later you will have to pay the price!
This is how the divine movement has continued and been kept alive.
