Supreme Leader Stresses Iran\\\'s Support for \\\"Undivided Palestine\\\"
TEHRAN (FNA)- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei stressed ineffectiveness of the Zionist regime and the West\\\'s plots against Palestine, and reiterated Tehran\\\'s support for an undivided Palestine.
\\\"They (enemies) wished to wipe Palestine off the world map, while they were mistaken. Palestine will remain and will not be eliminated,\\\" Ayatollah Khamenei said, addressing a large crowd of Iranian people at the mausoleum of the late Founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, South of Tehran.
\\\"Palestine is inseparable and it belongs to the Palestinians undivided,\\\" the Leader underscored.
\\\"Palestine will return to the arms of Islam, without any doubt,\\\" Ayatollah Khamenei stated.
Iranians from all walks of life gathered at the mausoleum of the late Imam Khomeini to mourn the 22nd anniversary of the demise of the Founder of the Islamic Republic and also to renew their allegiance to his ideals.
A number of top Iranian military and political officials as well as foreign ambassadors and guests have joined the ceremony.
Every year, millions of Iranians from across the country travel to Tehran to pay tribute to the late leader.
Imam Khomeini returned to Iran after 14 years in exile to lead the Islamic Revolution that toppled the Pahlavi monarchy back in 1979.
Imam Khomeini passed away on June 3, 1989, ten years after leading the uprising that put an end to the Pahlavi regime.

What do we really know about those glossy magazine images? Are they selling us an impossible dream?

It is the holy month of Muharram, the first month of the Islamic calendar, and this past week, it was in full swing.
Ashura is commemorated by Muslims and others as a day of mourning for the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (PBUH), the grandson of Prophet Muhammad at the Battle of Karbala.
It's a yearly commemoration, but this year in particular the marking of Ashura has particular significance. In countries like Egypt, Bahrain and Libya, citizens have fought to be represented by a leader of their choice, a reflection not lost in the remembrance of this historic event.
This episode of Reality Check reviews these and much more stories related to the past week's events.

The Bahrain Independent Commission Inquiry was established on the 29th of June 2011 by King Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa. The commission has been tasked with investigating and reporting on the events that took place in Bahrain from February 2011.
There are concerns that there could be serious political and social ramifications from the serious biases and deficiencies in the report. The commission which has been paid for and set up by the regime that has committed these acts has led to human rights organizations to question its legitimacy.
The results of the commission came out on the 23rd of November and the government says it has formed a working group to study the report, which calls for an examination of people's political, economic and social grievances, but opposition parties say no one has contacted them.
Questions have arisen on whether any external pressure for reform especially by the US be thwarted by Saudi Arabia who would not want to empower the opposition in Bahrain. It is also important to note that Bahrain hosts the US fifth fleet.
In this edition of the show we ask; Bahrain: Is the government serious about reforms?

Western media has gradually been increasing its reporting on Iran, the same pattern of reporting that was perceived during the lead up to the war on Iraq.
The media is believed to have played an important role in generating acceptance for the Iraq war, simply by calling Iraq its enemy, and by repeatedly feeding the public information and reasons for waging war against Iraq.
The biggest reason was to stop the potential threat of attack by its weapons of mass destruction; yet even now, almost a decade later, there is still no evidence that Iraq had any weapons of mass destruction at all.
