Mountain Peak Insects Fast:
Beetles spend the winter season on peaks of mountains in the freezing temperature.
The peaks of mountains are very cold and snowy, the temperature roughly being up to thirty degrees centigrade below zero. These insects need extra energy in the winter in order to tolerate the cold weather.
During the cold winters insects fast. Whilst migrating to the mountains, an important process takes place to make sure these insects are filled with fatty substances to keep them warm during the winter and provide energy whilst they fast.
During the migration they abstain from drinking water so that the ratio of water reduces in their bodies and the free-water changes form into bound-water.
The conversion of water to bound-water is really important because if it were not bound then at low temperatures the water content in their bodies would freeze and their bodies would also freeze. The bound-water is gradually released over time as a water-source and source of energy for the insects.

Animal Instincts
Silkworms:
Silkworms fast completely from food and drink at several stages throughout their life cycle.
In the beginning of spring, the eggs incubate small gluttonous larvae. The newly hatched larvae feed on mulberry leaves for five days and their bodies, therefore, grow up very quickly to the extent that their skin cannot bear this rapid development and so it's replaced by another spacious one.
They must fast for one or two days until their bodies are physically able to cast away the old skin.
This process repeats itself five times during the earliest stage before the completion of this metamorphosis over about thirty days.
After this it enters into another kind of fasting. It takes shelter in a quiet location to spin a covering for their pupae stage. The larva spins only one thread of fine, strong, lustrous fibre, the length ranging from 400 to 1200 metres and this thread makes a covering called a cocoon, fully made of silk.
The silkworm enters into the fasting, no-feeding stage (between the larva and adult in the metamorphosis of holometabolous insects) and during this period it undergoes complete transformation within the protective cocoon.
It has now fully developed into a beautiful silkworm moth, which lays its eggs after fertilization.
It spends the remaining five days of its life in a state of fasting after it lays its fertilized eggs.

Pingu walks past a shop with a large cake on display, sees it is a bakery and decides to have a look. He looks in the keyhole in surprise, and sees the baker mixing something in a bowl. There\\\'s a good smell in the shop. The baker goes to the oven, slides out some bread he\\\'s baking, and then returns it to cook some more. He sees Pingu and greets him. A table full of delicious looking cakes and other similar goodies then amazes Pingu. The baker shows Pingu how to make the baking mixture; while he\\\'s getting the yeast to put in Pingu can\\\'t resist sneaking a taste. The baker shows Pingu what to do with the yeast, and then takes the bread he\\\'s baked out of the oven. He presents Pingu with a baker\\\'s hat. Pingu is very excited, thanks the baker and rushes off home to do some baking himself. He gets all the ingredients out, and finds a bowl to mix them in. Pinga comes out of the bedroom, comes over and asks Pingu what he\\\'s doing. Pingu explains, settles down to do the mixing and then realises he needs a whisk to stir the mixture with. He asks Pinga to get it for him, which she does. Pingu starts to mix in the ingredients, but can\\\'t get much out of the first packet and throws it away in disgust. The packet hits the wall and the contents splatter. Pingu compensates by putting all the contents of the other packets he\\\'s got into the mixture, and stirs vigorously, spilling quite a lot of the mixture in the process. He then goes to add the yeast, can\\\'t remember how much, and ends up adding nearly all of it. The mixture gets another good stir, and he tries it. It\\\'s rather good! Pinga wants a taste as well, so he lets her have a lick off the whisk. Pingu puts the whisk in the mixture. It moves around, preventing Pingu from grabbing it, and then disappears under the surface. Pingu is annoyed and shouts at the bowl; the whisk shoots out and Pingu catches it. Pingu gets a pan, tips in the mixture, and puts the pan in the oven. He then notices the mess he\\\'s made and, with Pinga\\\'s help, clears up. They\\\'re then both a bit alarmed when the stove starts rattling, and the stove door bulges out, and take refuge in the toy box. Mother and Father arrive home on the motorised sled, and are puzzled by what the stove is doing when they walk in. Suddenly the stove door bangs open and the baked bread is thrown out. They all go over to inspect it, and rather enjoy the aroma being given off.

Khamenei Meeting with Election Officials
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says individual votes determine the fate of an election, adding that the law must be observed in every stage of the electoral process.
The Leader made the remarks in a Monday (May 6th, 2013) meeting with the officials in charge of holding Iran\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s presidential and local council elections on June 14.
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"No one should say my one vote will have no effect on the fate of the elections because these individual votes ultimately [become] millions of votes and determine the outcome of elections,\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The Leader said the participation of people in the upcoming vote would ensure the immunity and progress of Iran, and speed up the country\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s general move towards higher achievements.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the extensive responsibilities of the president in the Iranian Constitution make this election extremely important.
The Leader added that voters must consider the qualifications of the candidates and choose with care the person who will be tasked with running the country.
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"...qualifications such as diligence, popularity and adherence to values must be taken into consideration,\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" Ayatollah Khamenei stated.
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"Western and materialistic expressions such as winner and loser must not enter election discourse...in [every] election naturally the expectations of some people about their [desired] candidate are not met...but [these people] must behave according to the law,\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" the Leader said.
Ayatollah Khamenei said while efforts have been made to reduce popular interest in or delay the elections but such efforts had and would continue to fail.

Poet: Shameem Amrohvi.
Anjuman-e-Razakaran-e-Hussain (Karachi).
Prof. C. M. Naim explains the form of musaddas thus: The first four lines of each stanza [بند] have one rhyme-scheme (i.e., the same qafiya [قافیہ] and radeef [ردیف]), and the remaining two lines, referred to as the tip, have another rhyme-scheme. Usually the first four lines extend the story line, while the tip, expected to be an exceptionally good couplet, provides a mini-climax as well as a pause in the discourse. While avoiding the monotony of a single rhyme-scheme, the tip allows for moments of rest in the process of public presentation. The basic structure of a musaddas stanza is actually similar to a ghazal couplet\'s. The first four lines of the stanza form a singularity, which is then made complete by another singularity, the tip couplet.

In 1947, Israelis began a process of ethnic cleansing in Palestine, which still goes on today. Sixty-five years after the first forced exodus of Palestinians from their homes, their many French supporters gathered on Nakba Day to make sure the world never forgets their suffering. Today, Israel continues to ignore international law, grab more land, build new settlements and commit further crimes against Palestinians. While many Israelis maintain that some 800,000 Palestinians left willingly, history does not support it. The truth is that, with British troops still in Palestine, a Western-armed Israeli force spent several months wiping dozens of villages off the map and executing at least 10,000 people, most of them unarmed civilians.

In Iran, the spotlight is on the June 14 presidential election. The crucial vote will determine the path the country will be taking for the next four years.
This has to great extent undermined the city and village council elections which are set to be held on the same day as the presidential election.
Since the victory of the Islamic revolution Iranians have gone to the polls three times to vote for the city and village councils. A fourth round was to be held in June 2010 but was postponed for three years according to a decision made by the parliament.
This year 352 thousand hopefuls have registered to compete for 207 thousand seats around the country. Unlike other elections held in Iran, the Guardian Council is not responsible for the vetting process. Instead a parliamentary committee has to decide which of the candidates are qualified to run.
Since the 1979 Islamic revolution, on average one election has been held each year but the fourth round of city and village council elections is different in many ways.
First and foremost it is going be the biggest election ever held in the history of Iran in terms of the number of candidates and the number of seats at stake.
According to law any village with a population of over 100 should have its own council tasked with paving the way for the social, economic, and cultural development of the community that it represents.
In this edition of the show we will be taking a closer look at the preparations made for this round of city and village council elections and the role these councils have played in the development of cities and villages and the services that they provide.

The Lebanese Parliament has endorsed a law that extends its mandate due to end on June 20th. But now, the parliamentarians will remain in office for 17 more months. The law was approved by the yes vote of 97 MPs out of 128. The majority of other MPs, belonging to Hezbollah\'s ally, the Free Patriotic Movement, have boycotted the session. They\'ve vowed to contest the extension which has been labeled as \"unconstitutional.\" Lawmakers have postponed this June parliamentary elections to November 2014. The move has sparked anger among people, with some throwing tomatoes at politicians\' convoys. They\'ve called for an appealing process that would override the Parliament\'s decision.

The reputation of the British army took yet another hit after two members of the military serving in Afghanistan were found guilty of committing offences against the very civilians they are supposed to be protecting. The latest revelations of the British army\'s mistreatment of the people in its care come just a week after Defence Secretary Philip Hammond admitted nearly 90 Afghan prisoners were being held at Camp Bastion - many without due process or access to families and lawyers.

The latest revelations of the British army\'s mistreatment of the people in its care come just a week after Defence Secretary Philip Hammond admitted nearly 90 Afghan prisoners were being held at Camp Bastion - many without due process or access to families and lawyers.

The extraordinary revelation this week that the Internal Revenue Service targeted tea party groups for more aggressive enforcement highlights exactly why caution is needed in any response to the much-vilified Supreme Court decision in Citizens United v. FEC.
Responding to a flurry of complaints from conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, the Internal Revenue Service admitted Friday it made \"mistakes\" in the last few years while trying to process those requests.
Multiple tea party groups reported significant delays and excessive questioning from IRS officials while trying to obtain 501(c) (4) status.
It also shows how all Americans, from the most liberal to the most conservative, should closely guard their First Amendment rights, and why giving the government too much power to limit political speech will inevitably result in selective enforcement against unpopular groups.
While Lois Lerner, a senior official at the IRS, apologized on Friday for these unconstitutional practices, which are as unseemly as the Bush administration\'s targeting of the NAACP and the House of Representatives\' defunding of Planned Parenthood on purely political grounds.

Not much has changed since the national dialogue conference was launched some three months ago. The process brought together the country\'s top political leaders ranging from all factions with the aim to bring lasting peace in the country. The primary aim of the NDC is to come up with solutions for a wide-range of issues, which have put Yemen in a state political instability with much tensions rising over separatist slogans from the south of the country. The national dialogue conference sessions has so far marred with a number of unprecedented events such as sit-ins by representatives from the south and their repeated demands for independence. Many southerners attending the NDC say the separation calls are due to lack of hope in the government to solve the southern concerns.

British Prime Minister David Cameron is the first foreign head of government to visit Pakistan after historic democratic transition of power in May this year. Cameron met Pakistan\'s new Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in capital Islamabad. The two discussed measures to enhance bilateral relations including trade and economic ties between Pakistan and Britain. But their real focus was on current situation in Afghanistan. At a joint news conference, the British premier, who flew from Kabul, backed a political solution to Afghan war after his top general said the West missed a chance to strike a peace deal with Taliban militants 10 years ago. For his part, Pakistani premier emphasized the need for all-inclusive Afghan-owned and Afghan-led peace process.

If one protest message reverberated in Buenos Aires City this week, it was clearly Argentineans outrage and anti-imperialist clamor.
The decision by France and Portugal to reject air permits to Bolivian President Evo Morales forcing his plane to land in Austria on suspicions it was carrying former NSA contractor Edward Snowden, took anti-US demonstrators to the streets.
Rallying outside the embassy of Bolivia in the Argentine capital city, they called to support the current process of Latin American integration.

India is to settle its 1.53 billion dollars dues with Iran in Rupees. From now on, all the trade will only be done in Indian currency. Until February, 45 percent of the Indian oil import payments were made in Euros, with the money going through Turkish Halkbank. Since then Indian crude oil importers have held on to their payments. A Russian route to make payments in Ruble was explored however it did not work out. Finally the Rupee transactions are left as the only alternative.UCO Bank is the only Indian designated institute under the rupee-payment mechanism with Iran. It is backed by its tie-ups with five Iranian banks which worked on carrying out the process of settlements of dues in April last year.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says US intervention in Syria would be catastrophic for the Middle East and extremely harmful to US regional interests.
Speaking in a meeting with President Hassan Rouhani and his Cabinet members in Tehran on Wednesday, Ayatollah Khamenei said the Americans would incur losses similar to what they sustained in Iraq and Afghanistan, if they decided to take military action against Syria.
The intervention by transregional and foreign powers in a country will have no result other than kindling the flames [of war] and will increase the hatred of nations for them, the Leader pointed out.
Such warmongering is like a spark in a gunpowder depot whose true dimensions and consequences cannot be estimated, Ayatollah Khamenei added.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Leader pointed to the ongoing situation in Egypt, noting that the Islamic Republic cannot turn a blind eye to the massacre of the Egyptian people.
We are in no way interested in meddling in the internal affairs of Egypt, but we also cannot close our eyes to the massacre of Egyptians.... We condemn the massacre of Egyptian people who were not armed, the Leader said.
Ayatollah Khamenei further emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran condemns the perpetrators of such a massacre no matter who they are.
Civil war must be seriously avoided in Egypt because a civil war in Egypt would be a catastrophe for the Muslim world and the region, the Leader stated.
Ayatollah Khamenei stressed the importance of restoration of democracy and the popular vote in Egypt, saying that the democratization process in the North African country is unstoppable.

Iranian people have taken to streets in the capital, Tehran, following Friday Prayers to condemn US and Israeli threats against the Islamic Republic.
The demonstrators criticized US President Barack Obama for following the warmongering rhetoric of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu against Tehran.
They blamed Obama for repeating the military threat against Iran despite Tehran’s call for peace and dialog with the West, including the United States.
The protesters also slammed Netanyahu and his warlike remarks, which they said were designed to distract attention from the Tel Aviv regime’s internal crises and international isolation.
On September 27, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his American counterpart held a phone conversation in the first direct communication between an Iranian and a US president since Iran’s Islamic Revolution in 1979.
The two presidents stressed Tehran and Washington’s political will to swiftly resolve the dispute over Iran’s nuclear energy program, which the United States, Israel and some of their allies claim to include a military component. Tehran has categorically rejected the baseless allegation against its nuclear energy program.
On September 30, Netanyahu met with Obama and asked him to toughen the sanctions against the Islamic Republic if Tehran continues what he called a nuclear weapons program.
Following the White House meeting, Obama threatened Iran with military action and claimed that Iran is calling for diplomatic negotiations over its nuclear energy program under the pressure of the illegal sanctions Washington has imposed on Iran.
On Wednesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Tehran will not allow Israel to interfere in the process of negotiations between Tehran and six world powers over the country’s nuclear energy program.
He said Tel Aviv is seeking to spoil the positive atmosphere created regarding Tehran’s nuclear energy program following the recent visit by Iran President Hassan Rouhani and an Iranian delegation to New York to attend the annual UN General Assembly session.
