[07 July 2012] Iran Cultural and Historical Heritage - English
On the 30th of June 2012 The World Heritage Committee added two of Iran's ancient structures to its World Heritage List. One is the Masjed-e- Jame' or Friday Mosque of Isfahan, It was described as "a stunning illustration of mosque-architecture-evolution over 12 centuries, and the oldest preserved edifice of its type in Iran and a prototype for later mosque designs throughout Central Asia. And the other was Gonbad-e Qabus, a tomb built in 1006 AD; the only remaining evidence of the ancient city of Jorjan on the Gorgan River in northeast Iran.
UNESCO has described this ancient structure as "an outstanding and technologically innovative example of Islamic architecture that influenced sacral building in Iran, Anatolia and Central Asia. So far 15 of Iran's ancient sites, 8 of its intangible cultural heritage, and 25 of its literary and scientific figures, have been listed by UNESCO. In this edition of the show we will be talking about Iran's contributions to the list and more.

[09 July 2012] George Galloway: The Mystery of Arafat Death - English
Recent investigations indicate that Yasser Arafat might have been poisoned with the radioactive Polonium 210 in Paris in 2004. The deadly poison was also used to murder the former officer of the Russian Federal Security Service, FSB and KGB, Alexander Litvinenko, in 2006. Last week, Barclays was fined 290 million pounds for attempting to manipulate the rates on which banks lend to each other.
Public and political pressure forced the bank's former CEO, Bob Diamond, to take responsibility for rogue traders and resign. Diamond was paid around 14 million pounds a year in salaries and bonuses. Meanwhile, the movie actor Tom Cruise and his wife Katie Holmes are getting divorced. Sources close to Holmes say it is all about Scientology, the cult to which Cruise is a member.

Security forces in Saudi Arabia have killed three demonstrators in the country's Eastern Province, which has been a major scene of anti-regime protests over the past months.
The Riyadh regime forces opened fire on a demonstration in the Qatif region of the province on Sunday.
Two of the victims were identified as Akbar Hassan Shakhouri and Mohammedredha Felfel, who were among the protesters demonstrating against the detention of prominent Shia cleric Sheikh Nemr al-Nemr, who was attacked in his car upon arrest earlier in the day.
Several other protesters were also injured in the deadly incident.
Since February 2011, protesters have held demonstrations on an almost regular basis in Saudi Arabia, mainly in Qatif and the town of Awamiyah in the Eastern Province, calling for the release of all political prisoners, freedom of expression and assembly, and an end to widespread discrimination.

[10 July 2012] NATO after regime change in Syria Webster Griffin Tarpley - English
NATO is not after a peaceful solution for the Syrian crisis but wants there to be "continuing violence and civil war" ultimately leading to an armed attack followed by "regime change," says an analyst.
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has warned Russia and China over their support for Syria, saying they "will pay a price" for their actions.
During a so-called "Friends of the Syrian People" meeting in Paris on Friday, Clinton launched a scathing attack on Moscow and Beijing and called for imposing pressure against both nations to drop their support for Damascus.
"I do not believe that Russia and China are paying any price at all - nothing at all - for standing up on behalf of the [Syrian President Bashar] Assad regime."
"The only way that will change is if every nation represented here directly and urgently makes it clear that Russia and China will pay a price," Clinton warned.
Russia and China boycotted the latest "Friends of the Syrian People" meeting as one-sided.
Press TV has talked with author and historian, Dr. Webster Griffin Tarpley to further discuss the issue.

Egypt's highest court has overturned Egyptian President Mohammad Morsi's decree reinstating the North African county's parliament.
The ruling of the Supreme Constitutional Court was announced on Tuesday, hours after the parliament reconvened briefly on the same day by a presidential decree, the Associated Press reported.
On Sunday, Morsi issued a decree reinstating the dissolved parliament in defiance of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), which dissolved the parliament on June 16 in line with an earlier ruling by the Supreme Constitutional Court.
The move to reinstate the parliament is the first showdown between Morsi and the country's powerful military.
