As Israeli troops close in on Gaza City, clashes with various Palestinian fighters intensify. Sameh Habeeb, a photojournalist based in Gaza City, reports, shortages of water, food, gas and fuel have left many with nothing but what they have stored from before the attack began. Habeeb says the Israeli army has been warning Palestinians to evacuate in advance of bombings, but explains that for the majority of the people, they have nowhere to go. While Habeeb was describing the mushrooming humanitarian crisis in Gaza City, his house was being shelled by the unending violence between the IDF and the Hamas forces.
Sameh Habeeb is a freelance journalist and photographer based in Gaza City, Gaza Strip, Palestinian Territories. He worked previously as a producer for Ramattan News Agency.

Supreme Leader: Saudi Government Should Accept Responsibility for Mina Calamity.
27/09/2015
The following is the full text of the speech delivered on September 27, 2015 by Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, at the start of Dars-e Kharij.
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Today, after a long break, we will resume our discussion, but our hearts are full of sorrow and grief because of the sad event that occurred in Mina and that turned our Eid into mourning in the real sense of the word.
Every year, during the hajj season - during these days when the hajj pilgrimage is over - the country experiences a public joy. Hajj pilgrims return and families are happy because fathers, children and spouses are back. Families celebrate the return of their hajj pilgrims and the success of their pilgrimage. Every year, this is the case. It is a time of celebration, but this year, this celebration time has turned into a time of mourning.
In many provinces of the country, the number of casualties is large and the remains of the deceased should be returned. Therefore, hearts are truly mournful on these days. One cannot forget about this feeling of grief even for a single moment. In recent days, this feeling of grief has troubled our hearts and the hearts of others.
The conclusion that we should draw is that the responsibility of this heavy incident and this grave disaster falls on the shoulders of the Saudi rulers. They should accept the responsibility for this matter. If they shift the blame on others, constantly accuse this and that person and praise themselves in an incessant manner, these actions will get them nowhere. These actions are fruitless. After all, the world of Islam has certain questions.
Is the death of more than one thousand individuals from different Islamic countries and in one single incident a joke? And God knows how many hundreds of people from our country have lost their lives. Moreover, it is not clear where the missing people are. It is possible that many of them are among the deceased. Is the death of several hundred individuals in an event - the event of hajj - a minor incident? Is it a joke? The world of Islam should think about this.
The first issue is that the Saudis should accept their responsibility and the requirements for accepting this responsibility should be acted on. If they engage in criticizing and accusing this and that person instead of apologizing to the Islamic Ummah and to the families, this will get them nowhere because nations are seriously pursuing this matter. This matter will not be forgotten. I hope- God willing- that God will ordain good.

The US Role in Haiti-s Food RiotsAs people around the world continue to protest the soaring prices of basic food items the World Food Program has described the crisis as a silent tsunami. The head of the Food and Agriculture Organization blamed the current global food crisis on -inappropriate- policy decisions over the past two decades. Nowhere is this more clear than in Haiti where hungry people are rioting in the streets because they cannot afford to buy rice. Haiti imports most of its rice from the United States which in turn remains heavily subsidized. We speak with human rights lawyer Bill Quigley.

Amid tension and increased attacks, People in Gaza mark December 27 when Israel launched a deadly attack on the territory two years ago.
The attack described by human rights organizations as the single most brutal attack against Palestinians by Israeli forces killed more than 1400 people, most of them civilians, and injured nearly 5000 others. It also caused extensive damage to Gaza infrastructure and private property.
Police officers laid flowers at the scene where many of their colleagues were killed in the first day of the war. Families of victims planted trees , while others including children took part in rallies.
Two years on, nothing has changed for the better for residents of Gaza. The report by the fact finding commission led by Richard Goldstone has led nowhere as Israel has only tried a few on minor charges .
The war was condemned internationally and the UN Goldstone Report found that Israel had used disproportionate force and accused it of war crimes and possibly crimes against humanity.

It started last month with one encampment outside Saint Paul's Cathedral. Next came the expansion to Finsbury Square, a smaller but similarly active protest camp.
Now, Occupy London have unveiled their latest base, and this time they mean business.
At four storeys high and taking up almost half a street, this is the third of the Occupy London movement's locations, coming complete with a fully functional conference room and a five hundred seat auditorium. More significantly, this building is owned by the Swiss bank UBS, who themselves are no strangers to controversy.
In two thousand and seven, they were accused of heavily profiting from a controversial mortgage scheme in which thousands of British pensioners lost a total of around one billion pounds. They bought the troubled mortgages from another bank. At the time they said that it was an “entirely usual” transaction.
It was bailed out by the Swiss government just one year later. This building is one of its assets, and it's worth over fifty four million pounds.
Occupy London want to hold educational workshops and community events here. They've named their new space “The bank of ideas”, this concept was explained to us by one occupier.
After weeks of being told that their protest was going nowhere, those within the Occupy movement are seeing this as proof that they aren't giving up any time soon. They plan on hosting a conference of worldwide occupy movements inside.
Officially the building is now a 'legal squat', meaning that police are powerless to remove the activists from the building without first consulting the courts.
The City of London has already started legal action against the Saint Pauls cathedral protest camp. Although this is a private building and in a different part of London, its owners are likely to start taking steps to launch their own case against the protesters.
UBS bank today said that they were taking “appropriate action”. In the meantime, Occupy London is likely to squeeze as many events as it can into their limited occupancy time to take full advantage of their new found space.

A worse fabrication is the one mentioned by Hajji Nuri. As you know, in the heat of the battle on the day of \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Ashura\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\', the Imam offered his prayers hurriedly in the form of salat al-khawf. The Shari\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'ah stipulates certain modifications in the obligatory salat, the daily ritual prayers, when offered in conditions of war and danger of the enemy\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s attack. The salat thus offered is referred to as salat al-khawf; (see the Quran, 4:101). And there was no respite even to offer full prayers. In fact, two of the companions of the Imam came to stand in front of him to shield the Imam (against the arrows) so that he may offer two rak\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'ahs of the salat al-khawf. The two of them fell from the injuries inflicted under the shower of the arrows. The enemy would not even give respite for offering prayers. Nevertheless, they have concocted a story that the Imam called for a wedding ceremony on this day, declaring, \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'It is my wish to see one of my daughter wedded to Qasim.\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' Obviously, one cannot take one\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s wishes to one\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s grave.
By God, see what kind of things they have attributed to a man like Husayn ibn \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Ali, things the like of which we sometimes hear from persons of a very mediocre character, who express a wish to see the wedding of their son or daughter in their life. And this is said to have occurred at a time when there was hardly any respite even for offering prayers. They say that the Hadrat said, \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'I want to wed my daughter to my nephew here and now, even if it is just an appearance of a wedding.\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' One of the things that was an inseparable part of our traditional ta\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'ziyahs was the wedding of Qasim, the boy bridegroom. Such an episode is not mentioned in any reliable book of history. According to Hajji Nuri, Mulla Husayn Kashifi was the first man to write this story in a book named Rawdat al-shuhada\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' and it is totally fictitious. The case here is similar to the one about which the poet says:
Many are the appendages that they have clapped upon it,
You will hardly recognize it when you see it again.
Were the Sayyid al-Shuhada\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' to come and observe these things (and, of course, he does from the world of the spirit, but were he come into the world of appearance ) he will find that we have carved out for him companions that he never had. For instance, in the book Muhriq al-qulub - whose author was, incidentally, an eminent scholar and jurist, but who had no knowledge of these matters - that one of the companions to appear out of nowhere on the day of \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Ashura\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' was Hashim Mirqal, who came bearing an eighteen cubits long spear in his hand. (After all someone had claimed that Sinan ibn Anas - who according to some reports severed the head of Imam Husayn - had a spear sixty cubits long. He was told that a spear could not be sixty cubits. He replied that God had sent it for him from the heaven!) Muhriq al-qulub writes that Hashim ibn \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Utbah Mirqal appeared with a spear sixteen cubits long, whereas this Hashim ibn \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Utbah was a companion of Amir al-Mu\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'minin \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Ali and had been killed twenty years earlier.
We have attributed several companions to Husayn ibn \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Ali that he did not have, such as the Za\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'far the Jinn. Similarly, there are some names among the enemies that did not exist.

Turkey, Qatar, KSA behind increasing violence in Syria: Nasrallah
The Hezbollah Secretary General says Turkey, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia are responsible for fueling violence in Syria and the increase in casualties.
Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah made the remarks in a televised speech in the southern Lebanese town of Baalbek on the occasion of Arbaeen, which marks the 40th day after the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (PBUH).
He said Turkey, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia are arming and funding militants fighting the Damascus government.
Nasrollah said the crisis in Syria has a political solution and cautioned that the continuation of the Syrian conflict would have dire consequences.
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"If Syria\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s battle continues, it will be long, bloody and destructive,\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" the Hezbollah secretary general pointed out.
Nasrallah said Lebanon in the most affected country in the Middle East by the Syrian crisis, calling on Lebanese political factions to refrain from any moves which would throw the country into turmoil.
He went on to say that the influx of Syrian refugees in Lebanon indicates a major humanitarian crisis, which must not be politicized.
The Hezbollah secretary general stressed that division is the most dangerous threat the Muslim nations face, saying Takfiri extremists are the product of the US seeking to sow discord among Muslims.
He said Takfiris are behind countless massacres and bombings in Muslim countries and particularly Syria.
Nasrallah called on the incumbent Lebanese government to devise a strategy to safeguard the country\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s oil and gas resources and said the Hezbollah Resistance Movement is ready to undertake the task of protecting such resources.
He concluded that despite US and Israeli efforts to \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"isolate, blacklist and demonize Hezbollah such efforts against the resistance movement will get nowhere.\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohamad Javad Zarif has advised the US against imposing new sanctions against Tehran. In an interview with Time magazine, Zarif said the Geneva nuclear deal is going to be QUOTE-dead if the US Congress imposes new sanctions, even if they do not take effect for six months. Two US senators are preparing legislation to impose new sanctions on Iran in six months if the deal goes nowhere. These sanctions would target Iran\'s oil exports, foreign exchange reserves, and industry. The senators are making the move despite the Geneva deal between Tehran and the P-five-plus-one group of countries, which includes the U-S. Washington has already imposed several rounds of illegal sanctions on Iran, causing problems mainly for ordinary Iranians.

Israeli forces have handed 12 demolition orders to Palestinian residents in Hebron Al Khalil, which includes 6 houses and 6 water wells.
The orders were handed to residents of the village of Sa\\\'ir in the South Hebron Hills. The orders will further confiscate millions of square meters of land from the Palestinians, in order for the Israelis to expand illegal settlements in the area. The village has been closed under military orders and they have given the residents one month to file a complaint before carrying out the demolitions. Human rights groups say that the demolition orders is part of a strategy by Tel Aviv to annex the South Hebron hills to Israel and a greater strategy to maintain military control over the Jordan Valley, the Negev and the South Hebron Hills. A new injunction signed on the 25th December by the head of the Israeli military\\\'s Central Command, which bans all Palestinians from appealing demolition orders to the Israeli military courts. Instead they can only take them to the Israeli high court, which is more costly and time consuming for the residents. They are further banned from using Palestinian lawyers in the Israeli high court. The residents of So\\\'ir already live in cramped conditions in their village as they have been prohibited by the Israeli authorities to build new houses. They explained that if the demolition orders are carried out, they will be left homeless with nowhere to go. They will now take the case to the high court.
