The Prophet (s) said, “God loves you more than this mother.” In another story, a mother lost her infant baby. In the middle of a battle, she was crying loudly. When she found her baby, she started nursing him. The Prophet (s) said, “Come here. Does this mother love her baby?” Everyone said, “Yes, of course. She did everything to find him.” He asked, “Is she willing to throw him into a fire?” They replied, “O Prophet of God! No, of course not!” He said, “God is kinder to you than this mother is to her child.” Don’t you enjoy participating in Imam Husayn’s (as) mourning ceremony? So why are you being rewarded for it? Let me ask this in a better way. Why are you given the highest reward? Why? Don’t you enjoy? Isn’t affection enjoyable? Isn’t affection the highest enjoyment? So why are you being rewarded? Do you know why God rewards you? Because God is [kind] like a mom. When a child becomes happy, his/her mom becomes happy too. When a youth is accepted into the university, his/her mom buys sweets. He/she says, “Mom, why do you trouble yourself? I’ve succeeded for myself.” She says, “Because I’m your mom. When I see you’re fine, happy and enjoying, I do whatever I can for you.” God is more of a mom than a mom is! Have fun and be rewarded by God! Why does God reward you when you wake up at dawn? [You might say,] “It’s very hard!” Believe me, its reward is not because it’s hard. The reward is because of the cheerfulness, energy and health that you gain. God is like a mom. This is the root of all sadness, unrest, anxiety, and depression! God dislikes a person who acts indifferently towards God’s Kindness. For example, a verse says, “Call on Me and I will answer you.”(Qur’an, 40:60) This is a display of kindness. “Call on Me and I will answer you.” Immediately, the Almighty God says in this same verse, “Those who are too proud to worship Me shall enter Hell utterly abject.” I’m telling you My dear to call on Me and I will answer you. A person says, “Ok, later.” God calls this being too proud to worship. Do you know what the punishment of Hell is for? It is not for some rules that you didn’t obey! Is God like a policeman or the rules for driving?! No! Hell is for being bold against someone who is kind! This brings punishment. The Imam (‘a) has sworn that, “People won’t be saved from their sins unless they confess to them.” Say what your problem is. Have your realized it? If you’ve realized it, I’ll save you. Now we want to say, “God we have a problem. Our problem is that we haven’t believed in Your Kindness. We have no understanding about Your Mercy, and we don’t pay attention or benefit from it. My whole life has been spent being indifferent about Your Kindness. All of my concerns are due to being indifferent about Your Kindness. All of my depression, all of my attachments to things, are due to being indifferent about Your Kindness.” An Arabic poem says, “Your sin is from within, which no sin can be compared with.” How should I repent from this? I live without understanding Your Kindness! I am not sure that You are kind and will give my sustenance. I don’t work in order to create something, because of Your order, and for Your satisfaction! I say, “I should work; otherwise, I’ll stay hungry. What are you saying?!” My life is based on not believing in Your Kindness. I argue with this person and that person due to not believing in Your Kindness. I think they can take something from me. I am jealous due to not believing in Your Kindness. I think someone else has taken my share. God says, “I have kept your share. Why are your jealous? Forget them!” I feel a lack of affection due to not believing in Your Kindness. I feel lonely due to not believing in Your Kindness. I go after worthless entertainments because I don’t believe in Your Kindness to be able to enjoy Your Kindness. I go somewhere else to enjoy. I don’t believe in Your Kindness; otherwise, I would have become a good person. What will happen if we believe in God’s Kindness? Suddenly we will see all of God’s actions to be due to His Kindness. When we look at the stars, we will start crying. When we look at the mountains, plains, and deserts, we will start crying. When we see a child, we will start crying. When we see an old man hunched over and walking with a cane, we will start crying. God! You love all of these. You have created all of them. You give sustenance to all of them. When we see the birds flying, we will start crying. We will live! Our problem is that we haven’t believed in Your Kindness. We have no understanding about Your Mercy, and we don’t pay attention or benefit from it. I don’t believe in Your Kindness; otherwise, I would have become a good person.

Therefore, the accessibility of the world is not attracting you. The Hereafter being on credit doesn’t push you away. What’s the problem? Remembering the world ruins us. The accessibility of the world doesn’t ruin us! Its memory ruins us. Remembering the accessible world makes us interested in it. Will we become interested in the Hereafter without remembering it?! Make remembering the Hereafter a part of your life. Then, see if the accessible world affects you. I swear, it won’t have an effect. What should we do to remember the Hereafter more? Imam Baqir (‘a) said, “Recite at least 50 verses of the Qur’an every day. Recite it at 14 different times, don’t recite it once and put it aside.” Basically, the Qur’an is a book, which reminds of the Hereafter. It takes a person to Heaven or Hell in each moment, and brings him or her back. What causes us to keep our distance from the Hereafter? Not remembering it. The Qur’an is the best program. Remembering the world ruins us. Make remembering the Hereafter a part of your life. Then, see if the accessible world affects you. What was the philosophy behind Imam Husayn’s (as) head being carried along with Zaynab from Karbala to Kufa and Damascus? Maybe it was for Zaynab to be able to slowly detach herself from Husayn (as). [When they reached Karbala,] the Imam (as) asked, “What’s the name of this land?” They replied, “Karbala.” He said, “I seek refuge in God from sorrow (Karb) and tragedy (bala).” Whenever he talked about Karbala, he would look at Zaynab (as). [It was as if he was saying,] “My Zaynab, this is Karbala. I’m addressing you. We’re going to be separated from each other here. Be ready.” Zaynab (as) would ignore these words and look in a different direction. Aba Abdillah al-Husayn (as) would glance at Zaynab (as), “Did my Zaynab believe this is Karbala? If she had believed it, she would have started wailing. No, she doesn’t believe it. She doesn’t want to accept it.” He would look at his Zaynab caringly. I talked about this story in the last meeting, and I’m talking about it again now. And I’ll always talk about it. Because it took nine days for Husayn (as) to tell Zaynab (as), “This is Karbala. Believe this.” She ignored this until the evening of Tasu’a when Husayn (as) said, “O world! Woe to you.” When Zaynab (as) heard this, she threw herself in front of Husayn (as), screamed and fainted. “My Husayn, don’t talk about leaving.” “My Zaynab, I have tried to tell you many times that this is Karbala! Why didn’t you want to believe this?” “I can’t tolerate this. Don’t talk about leaving!” This means, “I was trying to ignore the fact that we have been in Karbala during these nine days. No matter how much you said this is Karbala, I tried to keep myself busy and didn’t want to accept it.” Imam Husayn (as) said, “My Zaynab! My ancestor (the Prophet), father, brother and mother were all better than I am. They all passed away and you were patient.” She replied, “I was able to be patient because you were there. How can I be separated from you?” May God’s curse be upon the oppressors.

With prospect of about 12 million Muslims living in EU, Islamic financial and economical model is a feasible solution for the future. On June 25 a number of important players will meet in Dakar to discuss issues related to the International Criminal Court. Senegal is one of many African states that were early supporters of the court as an institution to make a decisive push in the fight against impunity. Participants at the discussion in include high-level representatives from a number of French-speaking African countries. The ICC has received a lot of international attention in recent years due to a number of controversial cases being brought to its jurisdiction. The fact that the cases have all been African has brought the credibility of the court into question, but there is no denying that it is now becoming a major force in Africa\'s desire to resolve issues of human rights abuses. Another important factor is that a number of States have given practical votes of confidence to the court, in the form of referrals concerning crimes within their own territories - notably Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Central African Republic, Mali and Comoros. The states that have made these referrals have demonstrated confidence that the ICC will be able to investigate crimes when the states themselves are not in a position to do so.
