UN human rights experts express serious concern about US drone attacks resulting in civilian casualties in Yemen.
The UN special rapporteur on extra-judicial, summary or arbitrary executions says Yemen cannot accept violations of people\\\'s right to life. This, as the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture also says that deadly attacks on illegitimate targets amount to cruel or degrading treatment. According to the world body, 16 civilians were killed when two separate wedding processions were targeted by US drones in Yemen on December 12. The UN says the victims were mistakenly identified as al-Qaeda members. The US think tank, New America Foundation says about a hundred drone strikes have killed some 9-hundred people in Yemen since 2002.

This is North Wazirstan, Pakistan\\\'s tribal region bordering with Afghanistan, the favourite target of US drone attacks. Drones frequently fly apparently to find and hit at suspected militants but mostly they kill civilians.
There has been a lot of propaganda--- both by the US and Pakistan--- to underreport and conceal facts about the scale of collateral damages and civilian causalities caused by the US drone attacks.

The Afghan president calls for a quick end to the US drone airstrikes and military operations in his country.
President Hamid Karzai renewed the demand during a meeting with a fact-finding team probing a recent US strike in the eastern Parwan province. The inquiry said earlier that the aerial attack killed 14 civilians, mostly kids. Anger has been simmering among the Afghan public and officials over an escalation in US-led strikes in civilian areas. Afghans have held numerous protests nationwide against such attacks. President Karzai has time and again slammed the drone strikes which mostly result in civilian deaths.

US assassination drone attacks: controversial, and against international law. It's been branded as targeted killings, not that the targets (should be targeting) have been successful: In Pakistan: a 10 to 1 ratio: That's 10 civilians killed for every militant. And after the US president admitted for the first time this past year that the US was involved, now news has surfaced of his direct involvement: In this news analysis, we will examine this controversial program, and whether his direct involvement as the decision maker makes him a war criminal

An analyst says the United States of America only offers a simple apology when Washington\'s assassination drones, which have recently been used on a daily basis, \'mistakenly kill\' innocent civilians.
The comment comes as Washington has been using its assassination drones in Yemen, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Somalia, claiming that they target the terrorists. The attacks, however, have mostly led to massive civilian casualties.
This is while the US-imposed Yemeni President Abdu Rabu Mansour Hadi praised the American targeted killing bid across his country in a September visit to Washington.
\"They pinpoint the target and have zero margin of error, if you know what target you\'re aiming at,\" Hadi said at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.
Press TV has conducted an interview with Hisham Jaber, Director of Center for Middle East Studies, to further discuss the issue.
