Syrian soldiers have discovered explosive devices and ammunition left behind by militants in the western farms of Qara in the Damascus countryside.
The army managed to seize the town and force militants out after fierce clashes earlier this month. Army units continue to make gains against foreign-backed insurgents in different parts of the country. What is among the most important, if not the most important matter that the youth of the present-day must address?
And how does the aforementioned matter play a role as regards to the youth\'s responsibility towards the 12th Imam (A)?
What is \'Management By Objective\" and how does it relate to our discussion?
And how important must spirituality be in a Muslim\'s daily life?
How does focusing on the 12th Imam (A) help us to get close to Allah?
How does the term \'No pain, no gain\' apply to our discussion?
What are just a few ways that Shaytan diverts our attention from Allah; especially when it comes to media and entertainment?
Have we ever thought about how many times a day we check our social media as compared to how many times we \'check\' the holy Quran?
What is a fundamental question that we must ask ourselves before we do anything; and how does this question help us to increase our spirituality?
What will be the fundamental basis and characteristic of the people in the army of Imam Mahdi (A)?
What is a very peculiar, yet frightening tradition from the Imams (A), as regards to the \'End of Times\'?
And what is a profound tradition from the Messenger of Allah (S) where he (S) says that if a Muslim doesn\'t have this one quality, then they aren\'t even a Muslim?
What does it mean when we say that we should be in control of our electronic devices, and not that our electronic devices control us?
What is a practical thing that all families can do, in order to increase their connection to one another, their connection to the 12th Imam (A), and ultimately, their connection to Allah?
How can appreciating nature increase our spirituality and bring us closer to Allah?
What role does the community and doing things together have to play, as regards to moving upon the path of Allah?
And ultimately, the future belongs to what segment of our Muslim Ummah?
In order to answer these questions and more, we humbly invited Shaykh Shafiq Huda from the Canada to come and speak with us about \"A Youth\'s Responsibility Towards the 12th Imam (A)\"?

Iran has placed a domestic research satellite into orbit for the first time, ushering in an era of independence in its space program.
Press TV has received confirmation that the first domestic Iranian satellite has been placed into orbit via two carrier rockets. Omid (meaning 'Hope' in Persian) was sent into space by the Iranian-produced satellite carrier Safir 2 early on Tuesday, Press TV correspondent Saman Kojouri reported from the launching site. Safir 2 is an upgraded model of carrier Safir 1.
Equipped with two frequency bands and eight antennae, Omid will transmit information to and from earth while orbiting the planet 15 times per day.
The lightweight telecommunications satellite is equipped with remote sensing, satellite telemetry and geographic information system technology as well as remote and ground station data processing.
Omid is a research satellite that has been designed for gathering information and testing equipment. After orbiting for one to three months, Omid will return to earth, returning with data that will help Iranian experts send an operational satellite into space.
Omid carries experimental satellite control devices, communications equipment and power supply systems to a distance of 250 to 350 kilometers from the earth's atmosphere

Israel seizes vessel, protesters say
Naval ships move in on a flotilla carrying humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, reportedly killing twenty people, protest organizers and Arab media report.
The last we heard, Israeli soldiers landed on the top deck of the Turkish boat and opened fire," said Adam Shapiro, husband of one of the flotilla leaders. He said he spoke with his wife by telephone around 8:30 p.m. and she described watching the Israeli seizure from her boat.
"After that, we lost communication with all of the ships," Shapiro said. "She said her boat was being chased by Israeli ships and they were trying to outrun it."
According to one unconfirmed report, the other protest vessels had been intercepted and were being led to Israel.
Some of the injured reportedly have been evacuated to a hospital in Haifa.
Flotilla organizers, Arab leaders and Turkish diplomats have already condemned the reported attack. Flotilla organizers say they were carrying first-aid supplies and medical professionals in the event of casualties, but according to Shapiro, "we thought that the possibility that Israeli soldiers would shoot" was a remote one.
Flotilla organizers said they carried no weapons.
The six-vessel flotilla, packed with hundreds of international activists, food and other humanitarian supplies, left Cyprus on Sunday night and was attempting to break Israel's long-standing blockade of the Gaza Strip.
Israel had vowed to intercept the boats, by force if necessary, and tow them to the Israeli port of Ashdod, where passengers would be arrested or deported. Israel says the blockade of Gaza, which is controlled by the Palestinian militant group Hamas, is needed to combat terrorism.
A live video feed from the Turkish boat showed images of Israeli soldiers boarding the vessel and firing some sort of weapons, though it was unclear whether the weapons were live rounds or less-lethal devices, such as stun grenades. The feed was abruptly cut.

August 21, 2008 presentation by Stacey Bent for the Stanford University Office of Science Outreach's Summer Science Lecture Series.
Meeting the world's growing energy needs in a sustainable fashion is one of the most pressing problems of our time. Professor Bent introduces the scope of the energy problem and some of the options for sustainable energy, then will focus on two main devices: solar cells and fuel cells. Solar cells convert the energy of the sun directly into electricity, while fuel cells convert chemical energy directly into electricity. Current research at Stanford is studying the use of new materials to develop the next generation of solar cells and fuel cells.
The Stanford Summer Science Lecture Series is a set of informal lectures about cutting edge research from four of Stanford's most esteemed professors.

Iran to reverse engineer RQ-170 drone - English
A senior member of Iran's Majlis says the nation's military intends to carry out reverse engineering on the American RQ-170 Sentinel reconnaissance drone that was brought down by Iran's air defense...
A senior member of Iran's Majlis says the nation's military intends to carry out reverse engineering on the American RQ-170 Sentinel reconnaissance drone that was brought down by Iran's air defense personnel last week.
Deputy Chairman of the Majlis Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy Hossein Ebrahimi told Fars News Agency on Sunday that given the scientific capabilities of Iranian military, it will replicate the captured US-built stealth aircraft in the near future.
He added that enemies cannot simply confront the Islamic Republic of Iran, since the country enjoys a variety of devices and advanced technologies that they are not aware of.
Iranian military's electronic warfare units brought down the US RQ-170 Sentinel stealth aircraft on December 4 with minimal damage. The spy drone was flying over the eastern city of Kashmar, some 225km (140 miles) from the Afghan border.
Iran earlier announced that it intends to carry out reverse engineering on the captured RQ-170 Sentinel stealth aircraft, which is also known as the Beast of Kandahar, and is similar in design to a US Air Force B-2 stealth bomber.
On December 6, two US officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the drone was part of a CIA reconnaissance mission, involving the US intelligence community stationed in Afghanistan.
They claimed the reconnaissance capability of the RQ-170 Sentinel drone enabled it to gather information from inside Iran by flying along Afghanistan's border with the Islamic Republic.
The RQ-170 is an unmanned stealth aircraft designed and developed by the American company, Lockheed Martin.
Iran has said that the US drone spy mission was a “hostile act”, adding that it will complain to the United Nations over the violation of its air sovereignty by the intelligence gathering aircraft.
Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi also said earlier that Tehran would complain to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) about the recent violation of Iranian airspace by the American reconnaissance drone.

oday they will show you how they make Coffee Machines!
A coffeemaker is a kitchen appliance used to brew coffee without having to boil water in a separate container. While there are many different types of coffeemaker using a number of different brewing principles, in the most common devices, coffee grounds are placed in a paper or metal filter inside a funnel, which is set over a glass or ceramic coffee pot. Cold water is poured into a separate chamber, which is then heated up to the boiling point, and directed into the funnel. This is also called automatic drip-brew.

Syrian government forces are going ahead with their mop-up operation in Qusayr after they regained full control of the strategic town. The troops were reportedly defusing on Wednesday explosive devices planted by the Takfiri militants fighting against the government in different parts of the town.
More than 200 pickup trucks carrying militants left the town and moved to a nearby village in the north of Qusayr. The government is trying to bring the town back to normal as soon as possible. Syrian military forces have dismantled the terrorist network of the foreign-backed militants in the strategic area, which borders Lebanon.
Qusayr has been an important center and supply route for the foreign-sponsored militants fighting against the Damascus government. The Syrian Army also reported that it has obtained documents confirming the role of Arab and non-Arab countries in the Syria crisis.
This episode of the Debate will take a look at the significance of retaking Qusayr.
