Thousands of students gathered in the campuses of the university in the capital Cairo and other cities for a third consecutive day. They chanted slogans against the army-installed interim government. In Bahrain, thousands of anti-regime protesters have held a demonstration to show solidarity with a detained journalist.
The protesters called for the release of freelance journalist and photographer Hussain Hubail who was arrested in August on charges of campaigning through social networks and attending unauthorized protests. The Friday\'s protests also called for political reforms and a democratic transition. The opposition said, in a statement at the end of the rally, that the era of authoritarianism, tyranny and monopolizing power has come to an end. Bahraini police clashed with the protesters after the rally west of the capital Manama. The call for the release of political prisoners comes as Amnesty International has condemned the imprisonment of activists in Bahrain, describing the move as appalling. The tiny Persian Gulf kingdom has been gripped by protests calling for the downfall of the Al Khalifah since February 2011.

U-S Undersecretary of State Wendy Sherman says she has asked Congress to put new sanctions against Iran on hold.
Sherman -- who is also the main U-S negotiator in the negotiations on Iran\'s nuclear energy program -- says the pause should be taken to see whether talks with Iran can gain traction. The remarks come days after Iran and the five permanent members of the U-N Security Council plus Germany held a new round of talks in Geneva to resolve issues related to Tehran\'s nuclear energy program. Over the past few years, the U-S Congress has imposed several rounds of illegal unilateral sanctions on Iran to pressure the country to halt the uranium enrichment component of its nuclear energy program.

The interim government wants to put the law into effect before the upcoming trial of Egypt\'s ousted president Mohamed Morsi on November 4th. The government expects potential unrest during the trial and fears that the mandatory expiry of the state of emergency laws in mid-November will pave the way for more protests. In December 1961, South Africa\'s anti-Apartheid movement entered a new-phase of resistance; it took up arms... Among the key minds behind this militant response was Nelson Mandela.
Advil November was a personal body guard of Mandela after his release and is a former member of the ANC\'s Military wing Umkhonto we Sizwe or Spear of the Nation... MK targets included petrol stations, railway lines and in one of its most successful attacks a power substation. Now MK had also planned an attack on one of the main fuel refineries here in Cape Town. And the hope was that had that attack been successful, it would not only have brought the SA economy to a standstill, but it would also have allowed prisoners on Robben Island about 7 km offshore an opportunity to see the attack as the refinery went up in flames.November remembers Mandela as a particularly revolutionary figure. When South Africa became a democracy in 1994, most MK soldiers were incorporated into the army. November argues that suggestions that SA will descend into anarchy now that Mandela has died is a construct of the imperialists, saying that those who fought for their freedom understand peace best.
