Ayatollah Sayyid Abul Qasim al-Khoei was a prominent scholar and Religious Authority of the Shia world during the 20th century. He passed away on August 8, 1992. Although a formal funeral ceremony for him was not allowed by the Ba'athist regime, this clip is an excerpt from the video footage captured by one of the government intelligence agents depicting the late Ayatollah's body being taken to the shrine of Imam Ali [as] in Najaf, his funeral prayers being presided over by Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Sistani, and his body being laid to rest near Amirul Momineen's grave.

Israeli forces raid al-Aqsa Mosque
Israeli forces have stormed the holy al-Aqsa Mosque in al-Quds (Jerusalem) to disperse Palestinians protesting against Israeli aggressions.
Palestinian officials say the protests started after an Israeli guard shot and killed a 32-year old Palestinian during clashes between Israeli settlers and Palestinians in the Silwan neighborhood on Wednesday.
The killing sparked protests in the area in which at least ten Palestinians were wounded.
Israeli riot police used rubber bullet and tear gas to disperse protesters and chased off those who sought refuge at al-Aqsa mosque, Islam's third-holiest shrine.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or further confrontations.
Despite the resumption of direct Israeli-Palestinian talks, the Palestinian Authority says Israeli settlers have not stopped attacking Palestinians in occupied territories for even a single day.
Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian Authority official in charge of monitoring settler activity in the northern, occupied West Bank, says Israeli settlers attack Palestinians and their properties on a daily basis. He says the attacks are premeditated and carefully planned.
Other reports say Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian farms in the West Bank city of Nablus on Tuesday and took away part of their olive crop.

Tuesday, 02 November 2010 19:05 Baqie Cemetery -
Pilgrims are pouring in from all over the world for the Hajj, and since there is still at least ten days for the pilgrimage to start in holy Mecca, the faithful are visiting holy Medina to pay their respects at the shrine of the Almighty's Last Messenger to mankind, Prophet Mohammad (SAWA). The devotees also make it a point to visit the ruins of the Sacred Jannat al-Baqie Cemetery nearby, which was unfortunately destroyed on April 13, 1925 when the Wahhabis seized control of the Hejaz and the holy cities. The most imposing mausoleum in Baqie used to be over the blessed tombs of four of the Infallible Imams of the Prophet's Household: Imam Hasan Mojtaba, Imam Zain al-Abedin, Imam Mohammad Baqer and Imam Ja'far Sadeq (peace upon them). Here is a live report from the site by IRIB English Radio's special correspondent, Amir-Abbas Malik Jalali

This is a ‘meccan’ surah. The Quraysh, among whom the Holy Prophet (s) was born, was a tribe held in great esteem, as the guardians of the holy Ka-bah, by the Arabs. They were the descendants of prophet Ibrahim (as) through his son Ismail (as). The custody of the sacred shrine of the Ka-bah enabled them to obtain covenants of security from the rulers of neighbouring countries on all sides on account of which they travelled to Syria in summer, and to Yemen in winter, to carry out their trade. Their trade caravans enriched them, united them, and drew people from distant parts to visit Makka, to bring and take from there merchandise of various kinds. This honour and advantage they owed to their position as servants of the sacred house. They owed it to Allah. It was therefore right and fitting that they should worship Allah alone and accept as true the religion of Allah, Islam, brought by the Holy Prophet.
The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) said that the one who recites this surah will get the reward of ten times the number of people performing Tawaaf and I’tekaaf.
The recitation of surah al-Feel and al-Quraysh in the compulsory prayers carries great reward. If this surah is recited on food, its ill effects are removed. Those with heart ailments should recite this surah and then gently blow into some drinking water and drink it. If a poor person recites this surah before sunrise, ALLAH (swt) will make it easy for him to get his sustenance.
