Husayn Day Exemplifies Muslim Unity in Houston:
Houston, TX – Dec 07, 2013, Muslims from all factions of society came together to promote the cause of unity and brotherhood amongst the believers, by drawing lessons from the sacrifices of Imam Husayn (as); the grandson of the last Prophet, Mohammad (saw), a mercy upon the mankind.
The annual Husayn day was organized and sponsored by Islamic Education Center (IEC) Houston and supported by prominent Muslim organizations of Houston including but not limited Makkah Masjid Dairy Ashford, Muslim Council of USA, Buzm-e-Mustafa, Minhaj-ul-Quran, Markazi Tanzeem-e-Imamia, Dar-e-Abbas, Ali School, Azadar-e-Husayn, Scouts of Islam, CAIR, ACT, et al. Each participating institution in itself plays a significant role in bridging social disparities and promoting unity, harmony, tolerance and justice amongst the community at large.
The event packed with mesmerizing Qir’at, beautiful poetry, thought provoking lectures exemplified that Imam Husayn’s (as) sacrifice continues to be the spring source for unity and global reforms against oppression and injustice.
Moulana Wahidi and Qari Hamdani mesmerized the gathering with awe-inspiring Qir’at.
Speakers stresses that more opportunities like Husayn Day should be organized collaboratively to actuate awareness, harmony and cooperative environment in the community, and expel the views spread by Takfiri’s and other agencies of hatred and sectarianism.
During the program Salat ul Asr with Jamat was performed, lead by Moulana Shabbiri and attended by all the Muslim participants.
In the opening note, resident Aalim of IEC Moulana Shabbiri emphasized on the principles of Islam extensively shared by Muslims across the globe. Muslims must pay attention that we all believe in the Tawheed, Qur\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'an and Prophethood and should work together to serve Allah (swt) by emulating the footsteps of Prophet (saw), his infallible progeny and trusted companions. He further highlighted that the insignificant theological differences acts as exploitation tools in hands of dividing agencies. Muslims must avoid division and embrace brotherhood to defeat the common enemies of Islam. He said that Today\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s Jihad is to establish unity with in Muslim Ummah because enemies of Islam all are gathered to create fitna of disunity. Moulana Awaisi resident Aalim of Makkah Masjid stressed on Qur’anic teachings that regardless of theological orientations, all Muslims, Shia or Sunni, shall embrace brotherhood to fail divisive plots of external enemies.
Br. Afeef khan, an eloquent intellectual, highlighted how ignorance and absence of public mindset is weakening Muslims and acting as an apparatus for exploitation by oppressive political powers. We must take lessons from Imam Husayn (as) on how to confront such oppressors and remain steadfast to sacrifice everything for truth and righteousness.
Similarly, Dr. Butt, a prominent intellectual, shared his views that our common goal must be to help each other in attaining pleasure of Allah (swt) and this should be a sufficient call for Muslims to come together.
Br. Mustapha Carol, Executive Director of CAIR, articulated that civil liberties and social justice would prevail, if Muslims stand fortified for the common causes and become active on socio-political fronts.
Researcher and scholar Moulana Shamshad Haider elaborated that the Islamic principles are based on humanity so one should act as human in order to be a Muslim.
Revered poets, Ayaz Mufti and Zafar Taqvi blessed the gathering with beautiful and thought provoking poetry. The program concluded with Salat-al-Jamat and a community dinner for all attendees.
The organizers are grateful to the community of Greater Houston, Media Partners, and participating agencies who showed such interest and cooperation in making the program successful.

Taqleed means to follow. While in Fiqh (jurisprudence), one may do Taqleed of a marja\\\' in order to understand the Islamic rulings on prayers and fasting etc.
People lose faith because they do \\\"taqleed\\\" in their beliefs. This is not allowed. One cannot believe in the oneness of God, in Prophethood or in the Day of Judgment simply because they follow someone else (their parents, or scholars). Rather, such beliefs must only be arrived at through personal contemplation and reflection. One may take help from the Islamic books and scholars, but at the end of the day one must strive to truly acquire faith in Islam through finding proofs, evidences and contemplation; not through Taqleed.

Although Imam Mahdi’s long life of about 1,200 years is much more than the average life expectancy of a human being, it is not impossible based on current scientific theories and various current theological beliefs. Scientists are actively researching elongating the life of human cells and protecting them from disease, aging, and other deteriorating factors. Some scientists believe that science has the potential to increase human life up to several hundreds of years. The natural world is full of wonders, where plant and animal species have been alive for thousands of years.
The mysterious stories of people with long lives of several hundreds of years have been mentioned in various cultures and religions. For example, the longevity of several people has been explicitly mentioned in the Torah, such as Prophet Adam’s age of 930 years and Prophet Adam’s son, Seth’s age of 912 years. Some pre-Islamic Prophets are believed to still be living today, such as Prophet Elijah (Ilyas), who was raised to the sky according to the Old Testament. Muslims of various sects believe that the pre-Islamic Prophets Elijah, Enoch (Idris), Khizr, and Jesus (Isa) never died and are still alive.
The Holy Quran explicitly mentions a few examples of noble characters who were blessed with exceptionally long lives. For example, the prophethood of Prophet Noah amongst his people lasted for 950 years, and is mentioned in the Quran [29:14]: “And certainly We sent Noah to his people, so he remained among them a thousand years save fifty years”. We thus deduce that Prophet Noah lived for more than 950 years. Prophet Jesus is another example of a prophet who did not die per the Quran [4:157,158]: “And for their saying, “We have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the Messenger of God. In fact, they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but it appeared to them as if they did. Indeed, those who differ about him are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it, except the following of assumptions. Certainly, they did not kill him. Rather, God raised him up to Himself. God is Mighty and Wise.” We thus deduce that Prophet Jesus has been living now for over 2,000 years.
Another Quranic piece of evidence is the story of Prophet Ezra (Uzair), where God took his life away for 100 years and then made him alive again, as mentioned in the following verse [2:259]: “(Or have you heard) of the one who, on passing through an empty and ruined town, said, ‘How will God bring it to life?’ God caused him to die and brought him back to life after a hundred years and then asked him, ‘How long have you been here?’ He replied, ‘One day or part of a day’. The Lord said, ‘No, you have been here for one hundred years. Look at your food and drink. They have not yet decayed’.” According to this verse of the Quran, God not only elongated his life for 100 years, but He also miraculously preserved his food and drink, which would have naturally decayed in a day or two.
The companions of the cave are another Quranic story in which a few believers took shelter in a cave and slept there for 309 years, as mentioned in the following verse of the Quran [18:25] “And they stayed in their cave for three hundred years, adding nine.” During these long years, they were sleeping, and their body was functioning without any need for water or food.
The Shias believe that the long life of Imam Mahdi is a miracle of God, and nothing is impossible for The Creator. God can elongate the life of His chosen savior and prevent him from aging. According to the narrations from the Shia Imams, when Imam Mahdi will reappear, he will look like a 40-year-old or younger.

Description:

Why did Allah send Prophets (A) to humanity?
And what was the need of sending so many Prophets (A) over the course of time?
How does Allah guide animals?
What is an \\\'instinct\\\' in animals?
And what is an \\\'instinct\\\' in human beings?
What is known as \\\'intellect\\\' in human beings?
Is \\\'instinct\\\' and \\\'intellect\\\' sufficient enough for the guidance of a human being?
And can \\\'intellect\\\' answer all the questions that a human being has?
What is the definition of a human being?
Finally, what does al-Nubuwwat and Prophethood have to do with this discussion?
Sayyid Haydar Hasanayn answers these questions and helps us to begin to understand whether instinct and intellect are in themselves enough for the guidance of humanity.
This series is based on the extraordinary book, Imam Khamenei’s “An Outline of Islamic Thought In the Quran”.

It can be said that no book has remained untouched. Therefore, Muslims have to revert to the infallible imams of the Prophet’s progeny, because they are the only ones who can correctly interpret and explain the revelation of Allah and purify the Prophetic traditions from all blemishes and distortion.
Allah ,The Most High , appointed twelve distinguished personalities , one after the other as the rightful successors of the Holy Prophet of Allah(S.A.). They are the descendants of both the Prophet and Ali Ibn Abi Talib. Allah says:” “
“O ye who believe! Obey Allah , and obey the Messenger, and those charged with authority among you (Imams = divinely ordained leaders). If ye differ in anything among yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger , If ye do believe in Allah and the Last Day: that is best , and most suitable for final determination.”

The Imams are the divinely ordained leaders of the world who succeed to the office by virtue of their being designated on God’s instructions. Commenting on the word “ أولى الأمر “ in the verse, the Prophet (S.A.) told Jaber Ibn Abdellah :” O Jaber they are my successors and the leaders of the Muslim Community after me.
The first one is Ali Ibn Abi Talib , thereafter Al-Hassan , then Al-Hussein , next Ali Ibn Hussein , next Muhammad Ibn Ali - introduced in The Bible as Baqer, O Jaber you will meet him , please give him my salaam (best regards) - next Sadeq Ja’far Ibn Muhammad , then Musa Ibn Ja’far , next Ali Ibn Musa , next Muhammad Ibn Ali , next Ali Ibn Muhammad , next Al-Hassan Ibn Ali , then whose name and title will be mines. He will be the Proof of Allah in the earth and the remaining Evidence among His servants , the son of Al-Hassan Ibn Ali… “
( إثبات الهداة ج 3 ص 123 ينابيع المودة ص 494 غاية المرام -ج 10 ص 267)
They possess some attributes such as infallibility and divinely endowed knowledge and moral excellence. Allah says:” Allah only wishes to remove all abomination from you, ye Members of the Family, and to make you pure and spotless.”
إنما يريد الله ليذهب عنهم الرجس أهل البيت ويطهركم تطهيرا (الأحزاب - 33)
Their presence in the world is crucial for its continued existence. “If the earth was only a moment empty of Hojjat (Imam), it would swallow its residents.”
لوخلت الأرض طرفة عين من حجة لساخت بأهلها ( بحارالانوار ج23 ص 29)
The Mahdi (المهدي) (A.J.)is the last Imam. He will appear to inaugurate a long period in which the world will be filled with justice and righteousness. The Prophet of Allah (S.A.) says:
المهدي الذي يملاها قسطا و عدلا كما ملئت جورا و ظلما (فرائد السمطين ( ج2 ص 312)
Imam Al-Sadeq Ja’far Ibn Muhammad (A.S.) says:”

Our deepest condolences to all the believers, all over the world, wherever they are, upon the martyrdom of the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (S), the esteemed and honorable Lady of Light, her eminence lady Fatima Zahra (A).
As history is witness, the plight for the true freedom and independence of women has been a long struggle, to say the least.
And it wasn\\\'t until the advent of Islam, that women were treated as an equal creation of Allah, as a human being.
Yet, what are some of the things that were done in the past with women?
And what are some of the things women are done with in the present-day in the so-called modern world?
What is the actual reality of women as far as the Pure Muhammadan Islam is concerned?
How does lady Fatima Zahra (A) play a major role in clarifying the Truth, as regards to the correct reality of women in the view of Islam?
What major roles did lady Fatima Zahra (A) play as a woman?
How was lady Fatima Zahra (A) an exemplary role model as a wife, mother, and a home maker?
And how was lady Fatima Zahra (A) an exemplary role model when it comes to the creation of social and political awareness?
Finally, how can lady Fatima Zahra (A) be a role model for all women, wherever they are?
Sister Fatima gives us all a humble reminder, as she talks about lady \\\"Fatima Zahra (A); The All-Encompassing Role Model\\\".
