A short film by PressTv-Borj-e Milad (aka Milad Tower, Persian: برج میلاد ) (Persian: birth) is the tallest tower in Iran. Built in between the Shahrak-e Gharb and Gisha districts of Tehran, it stands 435 m (1,427 ft) high from base to tip of the antenna. The head consists of a large pod with 12 floors, the roof of which is at 315 m (1,033 ft). Below this is a staircase and elevators to reach the area. Milad tower is the fourth tallest tower in the world after the CN Tower in Toronto, Ostankino Tower in Moscow, and the Oriental Pearl Tower in Shanghai. It is also currently 12th tallest freestanding structure in the world.
Milad tower is part of The Tehran International Trade and Convention Center. The project includes the Milad telecommunication tower offering restaurants at the top with spectacular views of Tehran, a five-star hotel, a convention center, a world trade center, and an IT park (to be completed by March 2007). The complex seeks to respond to the needs of business in the globalized world of the 21st century by offering facilities combining trade, information, communication, convention and accommodation all in one place.
The complex features a parking area of 27,000 square meters, a large computer and telecommunication unit, a cultural and scientific unit, a commercial transaction center, a temporary showroom for exhibiting products, a specialized library, an exhibition hall and an administrative unit. Milad Tower has an octagonal base, symbolizing traditional Persian architecture.

(Calgary) The Islamic Supreme Council of Canada strongly condemns the attacks on Shia Muslims in Pakistan. The recent killings of hundreds of Shia Muslims in Quetta and Karachi prove that the terrorism is on the rise and becoming uncontrolled problem for the entire world.
Unfortunately, Muslims and non-Muslims both are not willing to recognize the root cause of extremism and the violence in Muslim countries, which is affecting the peace of the entire world. The root cause of extremism and the violence is the ideology that creates fanatics and violent people in the name of Islam. The ideology of Wahabism is the ideology of extremism and the violence, which enjoys wide support from the US and other western governments including Canada. This ideology of hate disguised as Islam is the root cause of terrorism and extremism among Muslims. Every Muslim knows that the suicide bombings and the killings of innocent people is un-Islamic. However, in Wahabism it is disguised as Jihad. According to Wahabism non-Wahabis are not considered Muslims. In Pakistan Wahabis are openly saying that after they finish with Shias the next are Sunnisâ€.
Wahabis are pushing Pakistan towards civil war. However, the violence in Pakistan will not remain within Pakistan. It will spread to its neighbours and other countries. Unless Muslims condemn Wahabism and the western governments stop supporting Wahabism, the terrorism cannot be reduced.
In order to discuss the recent attacks on Shia Muslims in Pakistan the Islamic Supreme Council of Canada has changed its plan regarding the “Annual Milad-e-Mustufa Conferenceâ€. This conference will now be held as “The Muslim Unity Conference†on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at 6:00 PM at the Magnolia Banquette Hall, 5075 Falconridge Blvd NE, Calgary, AB T3J 3K9. Several Shia and Sunni scholars will be addressing the conference including prominent Shia scholar, Allama Syed Hassan Mujtaba Rizvi. The program is open for public with $5 per person ticket.
