The tribunal in charge of investigating the assassination of former Lebanese Premier Rafiq Hariri has been held in the Hague.
Four members of Lebanon\'s Hezbollah movement-- who are accused of murdering Hariri-- will be tried in absentia. A fifth suspect who was indicted last year is also believed to be involved in the case. Hezbollah has denied any involvement in the murder, and its leader Hassan Nasrallah has denounced the court as a US-Israeli conspiracy. Rafiq Hariri was killed on February 14, 2005 in a car bombing. Over twenty other people were killed in the incident and dozens of others wounded. The attack was initially blamed on some Lebanese generals, but a court in 20-11 issued arrest warrants against Hezbollah members instead.

دیدار كارگزاران حج با رهبر انقلاب

Ayatollah Khamenei the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution met Monday morning with the officials in charge of hajj affairs. At the meeting, His Eminence said that the enemy is making efforts to foment discord and to confront the wave of Islamic Awakening. He added that hajj is a very valuable opportunity to establish a relationship with the Islamic Ummah and to reap the spiritual benefits.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that hajj is one of the most important elements behind the success of Islam. He further described hajj as a great divine celebration which takes place at the center of glory, power and magnificence. \"Regarding the general and international dimension of hajj, it is necessary to pay serious attention to solidarity and strengthening Islamic bonds without taking nationalities, ethnicities and denominations into consideration. This opportunity should be used to make hearts get closer to one another.\"
The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed that Muslims are a unified entity and added: \"Iranian pilgrims should take part in hajj ceremonies with this general and global outlook and they should let the nations that have recently carried out a revolution benefit from their thirty years of experience in fighting the arrogant powers and the enemies.\"
His Eminence called on hajj pilgrims to prepare themselves spiritually before taking part in hajj ceremonies and added: \"With their behavior during hajj, Iranian pilgrims should make the world hold the Iranian nation and the Islamic Republic of Iran in high regard.\"
Elsewhere in his statements, Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the recent economic corruption and reminded government officials to combat economic corruption in a decisive way. \"Government officials welcomed confronting economic corruption, but if they had acted on my recommendations, we would never have had events like the recent banking embezzlement.\"
The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed that it is necessary to prevent corruption from becoming deep-rooted and added that it becomes very difficult to uproot corruption once it becomes deep-rooted. He assured the people that the three branches of government are determined to confront the recent event and to prevent similar events and said that government officials in the executive, legislative and judiciary branches are doing their duty.\"
The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that it inadvisable to create uproar which may prompt others to take advantage of this issue. However, he assured the people that government officials will follow up the issue until the end and that they will cut off the treacherous hands.
His Eminence emphatically urged the judiciary to keep the people updated about the case and stressed: \"The judiciary system must not have mercy on wrong-doers, vandals and corrupt individuals.\"
Iran\'s judiciary is investigating the recent large embezzlement case and has issued arrest warrants for a number of suspects. Also a number of bank managers have been fired.
Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejei Iran\'s Prosecutor General, who has been put in charge of the embezzlement case by the Judiciary Chief, has announced that the case is being investigated swiftly and decisively. He has also said that the culprits will be severely punished.
Iran\'s Judiciary Chief Sadeq Larijani has stressed that the judiciary system will follow up the issue decisively. He has also said that the judiciary has been investigating the embezzlement case for almost two months.

RT’s ongoing investigation of American drone aircraft being downed as a possible result of a cyber attack has been accentuated by recent confirmations by way of a documentary out of Mexico.
The Spanish-language television network Univision has aired a program in which undercover footage allegedly shows Iranian officials discussing ways to go about an attack on America’s infrastructure, specifically attempting to recruit Mexican computer hackers to target the Department of Defense and the CIA’s computer systems.
According to the Washington Times, US officials are now investigating reports that authorities from Iran and Venezuela plotted cyber attacks against America’s military, in what comes as the latest revelation in a quickly unraveling story of cyber war escalating between Tehran and Washington. In the most recent news break, however, a front to the south of the United States could be opening up as Iran tries to take down the American military with the aid of hackers living only next door.
The Times’ report alleges that hackers were discussing potential attacks on the DoD and Central Intelligence Agency. This news comes days after the United States managed to lose contact with two high-tech drone aircraft belonging to the CIA, one two weeks ago over Iran and one this Tuesday over the Indian Ocean island of Seychelles.
In the case of the RQ170 Sentinel craft captured by Tehran, that drone was dispatched from Creech Air Force Base in the state of Nevada. Earlier this year, RT reported that a key-logger virus infiltrated the cockpits of crafts in the base, with Air Force personnel left in the dark until days after the infection took hold. Military personnel later shrugged the incident off as a nuisance and nothing more, but with two drones in two weeks now mysteriously going off the radar, American eyes are now looking towards Tehran — and perhaps a partnership with international hackers — as the threat of an all-out cyber war escalates.
In the report published this week by the Washington Times, it is alleged that the Mexican hackers instructed by Iranian officials were told to crack passwords that would allow for access into protected American computer systems.
Univision says that among the targets intended in the attack against America were nuclear facilities. Coincidently, the nuclear infrastructure of Iran was threatened in 2010 by a computer worm named Stuxnet, believed by many to be the brainchild of American programmers. Earlier in 2011, researcher Ralph Langner told an audience at a TED talk that he thought Stuxnet was of Israeli origin, but added, "The leading force behind Stuxnet is the cyber superpower – there is only one; and that's the United States."
If a cyber war is being waged against America, US officials are remaining relatively mum on the matter. In the case of the Sentinel lost over Iran, the US first denied a crash, only to later confirm that a craft was lost over Afghanistan and was believed to be obliterated. Within days, however, Iran provided footage of the craft in pristine condition much to the chagrin of Washington. American authorities went on to dismiss the craft as a fake before US President Barack Obama asked Tehran to return what was in fact the drone in question.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad responded by shooting down Obama’s plea, telling Venezuelan state television this week, “The Americans have perhaps decided to give us this spy plane. We now have control of this plane.” Iranian authorities now claim that the gift from America is almost done being decoded and its technology will be adapted into its own arsenal.
On Tuesday of this week, an MQ-9 Reaper drone was downed in Seychelles and crash-landed at an air base there that has been under American occupation since 2009. The US uses the island nation to dispatch drones for surveillance over Somalia and to counter piracy in the Indian Ocean. Once again, in this case American authorities are insisting that the craft has been charred beyond repair and are working in conjunction with overseas officials to return the craft to the US.
An investigation over that crash is pending, but officials are for now saying that the “failure was due to mechanical reasons.” At a price tag of around $30 million per craft, it is suspicious that a minor malfunction under the hood of what is the Cadillac of unmanned spy planes can cause the craft to come to a crashing, fiery halt.
The Washington Times adds in their report that State Department spokesman William Ostick believes federal authorities to be investigating the allegation brought forth against Iran by Univision, but formally has declared that officials lack information that corroborates on the allegation. Senator Robert Menendez (NJ-Dem) is now also calling for a congressional hearing to investigate Iranian action in Latin America. Menendez also sits as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere.
“If Iran is using regional actors to facilitate and direct activities against the United States, this would represent a substantial increase in the level of the Iranian threat and would necessitate an immediate response,” Menendez says.
Earlier in 2011, American authorities alleged that Iran had recruited members from a Mexican drug cartel to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to the United States on American soil. While the plot was foiled by US intelligence, the latest revelations add a new piece to a puzzle that shows an increasingly tense standoff between Tehran and Washington.

Pingu is going out on a play-date with Robby. He finds Robby in a bunch of ice sculptures. Pingu and Robby hop on the sledge and ride it together. Pingu also has to push Robby along the way. They find an old ruined igloo and other bits of junk around it, then play a game of hide and seek in and around it, followed by a snowball fight. Pingu tricks Robby by making a bust of himself with some things he finds in the ruin he is hiding and putting it on a stick and waving it outside, so that Robby throws the snowball at that instead of him. While Robby is quizzically investigating the smashed bust, and calling for his friend, Pingu runs and hides in a barrel. He then sneaks up behind Robby and throws a snowball at the ruin Robby is investigating, getting his attention to the barrel Pingu is hiding in (Pingu hides quick enough to avoid being seen). Robby then goes into the ruin, and he looks over to see Pingu (still wearing the barrel as a precaution of sorts) taunting him, then throwing a snowball at him. A chase back towards the igloo ruins then ensues, with Pingu coming out of the barrel due to tripping over a small block of ice. Robby then gets hurt while holding onto the rolling barrel, and Pingu vainly tries to cheer him up with some funny moves and postures, but finally manages with a hoola-hoop. Robby gets a hoola-hoop too and they play that instead.

The Bahrain Independent Commission Inquiry was established on the 29th of June 2011 by King Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa. The commission has been tasked with investigating and reporting on the events that took place in Bahrain from February 2011.
There are concerns that there could be serious political and social ramifications from the serious biases and deficiencies in the report. The commission which has been paid for and set up by the regime that has committed these acts has led to human rights organizations to question its legitimacy.
The results of the commission came out on the 23rd of November and the government says it has formed a working group to study the report, which calls for an examination of people's political, economic and social grievances, but opposition parties say no one has contacted them.
Questions have arisen on whether any external pressure for reform especially by the US be thwarted by Saudi Arabia who would not want to empower the opposition in Bahrain. It is also important to note that Bahrain hosts the US fifth fleet.
In this edition of the show we ask; Bahrain: Is the government serious about reforms?

\\\"Israelis are still suffering from the shock of their defeat in the 33-day war,\\\" Nasrallah said, noting that the Israeli regime is still investigating the reasons behind their defeat in the 2006 war.
\\\"Two hundred and fifty rockets were launched at Israel on the last day of the July war,\\\" he said, recalling how the then Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert described the defeat as \\\'catastrophic\\\'.
Hezbollah\\\'s leader took pride in the military achievements of the Lebanese movement, emphasizing that its rockets are capable of hitting targets as far as Haifa and Tel Aviv.
Nasrallah voiced support for the Lebanese army and highlighted the need for national unity within Lebanon as the key to counter the US-Israeli strategy of fomenting sectarian disputes in the country and the region.
\\\"The July [2006] was an Israeli trick,\\\" he pointed out, noting that if Hezbollah had been defeated, Israel would have expanded the war to Syria.
\\\"The second stage of the Israeli attack was aimed at bringing down President Bashar al-Assad\\\'s government,\\\" Nasrallah added, noting that Hezbollah\\\'s victory in Lebanon thwarted this objective and prevented Syria from falling under the US-Israeli scheme.
Hezbollah\\\'s leader blamed the West, headed by the United States, for preventing dialogue on Syria and supporting terrorist activities in the country.
\\\"There is a US-Israeli project against Syria,\\\" he stated. \\\"The US and Israel consider Syria as a problem, because Syria is a real supporter of resistance.\\\"
The Lebanese leader also accused the West of heaping pressure on Iran because of its support for the Palestinian cause. He scoffed at the US attempts to undermine Iran\\\'s sovereignty, pointing out how all this pressure from the West has strengthened the Islamic Republic.

[Audio][08] Distortions of Ashura - by Martyr Ayatullah Murtada Mutahhari - English
One example of tahrif in the accounts of \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Ashura\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' is the famous story of Layla, the mother of Hadrat \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Ali\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' Akbar, a story that is not...
One example of tahrif in the accounts of \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Ashura\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' is the famous story of Layla, the mother of Hadrat \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Ali\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' Akbar, a story that is not supported even by a single work of history. Of course, Ali\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' Akbar had a mother whose name was Layla, but not a single historical work has stated that Layla was present at Karbala\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'. But you see how many pathetic tales there are about Layla and Ali\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' Akbar, including the story of Layla\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s arrival at \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Ali Akbar\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s side at the time of his martyrdom. I have heard this story even in Qum, in a majlis that had been held on behalf of Ayatullah Burujerdi, though he himself was not attending. In this tale, as \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Ali Akbar leaves for the battlefield the Imam says to Layla, \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"I have heard from my grandfather that God answers a mother\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s prayer for the sake of her child. Go into a solitary tent, unfurl your locks and pray for your son. It may be that God will bring our son safe back to us.\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"
First of all, there was no Layla in Karbala\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' to have done that. Secondly, this was not Husayn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s logic and way of thinking. Husayn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s logic on the day of \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Ashara\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' was the logic of self-sacrifice. All historians have written that whenever anyone asked the Imam for the leave to go to battlefield, the Imam would at first try to restrain him with some excuse or another that he could think of, excepting the case of \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Ali\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' Akbar about whom they write:
Thereat he asked his father\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s permission to go forth to fight, and he gave him the permission. [6]
That is, as soon as \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Ali Akbar asked for permission, the Imam told him to depart Nevertheless, there is no dearth of verses which depict the episode in quite a different light, including this one:
Rise, O father, let us leave this wilderness,
Let us go now to Layla\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s tent.
One case relating to the same story, which is also very amazing, is the one that I heard in Tehran. It was in the house of one of the eminent scholars of this city where one of the speakers narrated the story of Layla. It was something which I had never heard in my life. According to his narrative, after Layla went into the tent, she opened the locks of her hair and vowed that if God were to bring \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Ali Akbar back safely to her and should he not be killed in Karbala\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' she would sow basil (rayhan) all along the way from Karbala\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' to Madinah, a distance of 300 parasangs. Having said this, he began to sing out this couplet:
I have made a vow, were they to return
I will sow basil all the way to Taft!
This Arabic couplet caused me greater surprise as to where it came from. On investigating I found that the Taft mentioned in it is not Karbala\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' but a place related to the famous love legend of Layla and Majnun. Taft was the place where the legendary Layla lived. This couplet was composed by Majnun al-\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Amiri and sung for the love of Layla, and here this man was reciting it while attributing it to Layla, the mother of \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Ali Akbar, conjuring a fictitious connection with Karbala\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'. Just imagine, were a Christian or a Jew, or for that matter some person with no religious affiliation, were to be there and hear these things, will he not say what a nonsensical hagiography these people have? He would not know that this tale has been fabricated by that man, but he would say, na\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'udubillah, how senseless were the women saints of this people to vow sowing basil from Karbala\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' to Madinah!

A new report by the Pakistani government has put the civilian death toll caused by US assassination drones at a surprisingly lower figure than previous estimates by government and independent organizations.
Pakistan\'s Defense Ministry announced that only 3 percent of people killed by drones since 2008 were civilians. According to the ministry, the US has conducted about 320 drone strikes during that period, killing over 21 hundred militants and 67 civilians. The figure has sparked criticism from public opinion and groups that have been investigating the assassination drones. The Pakistani government regularly criticizes the drone program in public, even though it is reported to have secretly supported at least some of the strikes in the past.

Pro-EU demonstrators are holding a new rally in Ukraine\'s capital Kiev against the government of President Viktor Yanukovych.
They want Yanukovych to resign. This, after he withdrew from an agreement which would have paved the way for Kiev to join the European Union. Pro-EU demonstrators accuse Yanukovych of shelving the deal under Russia\'s Pressure. Out of anger at Russia, they have torn down a statue of Vladimir Lenin, the late founder of the former Soviet Union, of which Ukraine used to be a republic. Meanwhile, the security service has begun investigating alleged attempts by the opposition to topple the government. The investigation is said to be targeting opposition figures who demand Yanukovych step down.

Police were tipped off that the truck belonging to an aid organization was carrying arms for al-Qaeda-linked groups in Syria. But their search of the cargo was prevented by Hatay Governor Jela-lettin Lekesiz, and the vehicle went on its way. Reports say an army post then stopped the truck and found ammunition and weapons onboard. Now the chief provincial public prosecutor is investigating the incident. Turkey is a vocal critic of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and has openly supported the insurgents fighting the government there. Ankara, however, denies arming militants in Turkey\\\'s crisis-hit neighbor. Back in December, local media said that Turkey had shipped 47 tonnes of weapons to insurgents since June.

The United States and Britain are already under fire for the Iraq war, with many British and American troops accused of committing war crimes during the invasion. Now after nearly 11 years, shocking photos have emerged showing the extent of the crimes. Viewer discretion is advised. The following pictures contain very disturbing images. The shocking photos - reportedly taken in the city of Fallujah in 2004 - have been obtained by the website T-M-Z. They show American soldiers burning the remains of dead Iraqis and then posing for pictures with their skeletons. According to the website, the photographs were turned over to the US Department of Defense last week. The Pentagon is currently investigating the authenticity of the photos and the identities of the servicemen involved. The US attacked Iraq under the pretext that the regime of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction. WMDs were never found in the country and the war killed hundreds of thousands of people.
