Zionist police burst into the Synagogue during Passover prayers and attack the worshippers. On April 26, 2005, thousands of Anti-Zionist Orthodox Jews in Jerusalem gathered to protest the despicable events which occurred during a protest at Highway 6 near Kibbutz Regavin when demonstrators against the Highway expansion which was destroying ancient Jewish graves were viciously attacked by Security Guards.
In retaliation for the mass protest, Israeli police entered an Orthodox Jewish Synagogue in Jerusalem and attacked devout Jews who were in the shul to pray during the Passover Holiday.

These scenes outside the Israeli Embassy in London have become a common sight. It is here that London witnessed an outpouring of grief over the attack on the Mavi Marmara earlier this year, and here people now stand to commemorate the anniversary of Operation Cast Lead in Gaza, which began to this day two years ago.
Over 1400 Gazans were killed in that onslaught - few have forgotten. Protests like this are taking place around the country this week.
2010 comes to a close after months of brewing anger over the British government's domestic austerity measures - this is matched by equally heightened disillusionment over the Middle East process.
Two years ago as Gaza was being bombarded, protests here turned violent - and dozens were later arrested and given jail sentences. This sent shockwaves through the Pro-Palestinian movement here.
The protest in London has come to an end now and the organisers and fairly happy with the turnout they saw today. The end of December is a sleepy, holiday season in the United Kingdom - a time when very little of political significance takes place here but with Operation Cast lead's anniversary falling at this time each year, it will never be the same again. Ukrainian Muslims celebrated the Shitte Imam Mahdi Birthday which had always been a cause for one of the biggest celebrations. Participants say the concept of a Messiah is well known among different people of diverse belief and culture. A messiah is expected by all to come and deliver peace and justice which the mankind needs.
In Shia Islam, the belief in the Mahdi is a powerful and central religious idea. The Shitte Imam Mahdi will come at a time when the world brims of injustice, oppression and tyranny and will call people to the way of God. Imparting his observation the Iranian Ambassadorto Ukraine makes a special mention of Ukrainian Muslims that keep the traditions with diligence.
Among Ukrainian Muslims guests from variety of countries visited the festive event. Organizers say they have what to boast. Comparing to the last year's celebration, twice as more people came to praise Imam Mahdi in song.
Twelver Shia Muslims believe that the Shitte Imam is alive but has been in occultation, awaiting the time that God has decreed for his return. These believers say while waiting they will exert themselves to make a world a better place.
The holiday also shows how closely the destiny of the Muslims and the Christians is linked together. It is believed that the Shia Imam will come alongside Jesus Christ in order to fulfill the mutual peace bringing mission.

Iran is clad in black as people mark the martyrdom of Imam Hossein in a two day national holiday. The Shiites regard the grandson of Prophet Mohammad and their third Imam as the symbol of freedom and courage. The Tasua symbolizes a day when Imam Hossein told his 72 loyal companions that by the next day or the Ashura, they would all be killed in an unequal battle with the huge army of Yazid some 14centuries ago. The Bani Umayyed Caliph was notorious for his oppression against the people.
Iranians call him the Martyr of all Martyrs. Imam Hossein, his children and his brother Abbas were beheaded and his companions killed in the battle which took place in the plains of Karbala. He had already declared that he would sacrifice everything in the line of freedom against the tyranny of Yazid. Men and women, young and old remember their martyr by dressing in black and holding various symbolic mourning ceremonies across Iran. Each tribal group such as the Azaris, Arabs, Lors and Persians has its own way of marking the Tasua and Ashura.
For hundreds of years the love for Imam Hossein has become an inseparable part of the people's lives in Iran. Some people dedicate their houses and all their possessions to be used for serving the mourners of Imam Hossein in Tasua and Ashura.
Giving away free food is also another tradition which is seen across the country during the two days of mourning. To the Iranians Imam Hossein is a school of thought which they feel committed to preserve. They believe that it is through such ceremonies which they can keep his thoughts alive and pass it on to future generations.

Father\\\\\\\'s Day is a national holiday in Iran, which is celebrated annually on the birthday of Imam Ali, the first Shiite Imam. Imam Ali was the cousin and son-in-law of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The reason that Father\\\\\\\'s Day is celebrated on this day is that, when Prophet Muhammad (PHUB) received his divine revelation, Imam Ali was the first male to accept his message. He then dedicated his life to the cause of Islam. On this day many Iranians gather in various mosques in Tehran to honor his memory.
Many people are finding ways to thank and honor their fathers on this day for influencing their upbringing. They take the opportunity to spend more time with their fathers and grandfathers. They often express their gratitude and pay their respects with a small gift.
Iranians believe the father is someone who is always there to trust and depend on, regardless of one\\\\\\\'s age.
