London calls on the British armed forces to send in reinforcements for the Olympic Games. The UK military has been asked to provide some 3,500 extra troops to guard the Olympic Games. The security duties for the event have been contracted in part to the private security firm G4S. But there are fears that the company cannot provide the 13,700 guards it promised to deliver for the venue.

Iran condemns the US and Israel for the strings of deadly attacks mounted against its nuclear experts. Iranian nuclear scientist Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan was assassinated in January 2012 after an unknown motorcyclist attached a magnet bomb to his car in Tehran.
On November 29, 2010, Professor Majid Shahriari and Dr. Fereydoun Abbasi were targeted by terrorist attacks; Shahriari was killed immediately and Dr. Abbasi, the current head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, sustained injuries. In November 2011, some of the US presidential hopefuls called for conducting covert operations ranging from assassinating Iranian nuclear scientists to launching a military strike on Iran as well as sabotaging Tehran's nuclear energy program.

They were first trained and then armed.Their salaries are also provided by the U.S government.
But these groups are now changing sides. About 23 of them have recently joined the Taliban in western Farah province. They are now fighting back against the foreign troops there with their U.S-given weapons.

[03 Aug 2012] How can Muslims in West help Islamic Awakening - English
After too much expectation and uncertainty, finally the Muslim Brotherhood candidate Mohamed Morsi won the election with 51.7 percent of the votes against Ahmed Shafiq. This came after a close competition in the second round, while some rumours were suggesting that the old regimes remnant Ahmed Shafiq might win. Thousands of Muslim Brotherhood supporters filled the streets and squares in Cairo and other cities to celebrate this victory, a turning point in Egypt's history to move from dictatorship to.
While Morsi succeeds Hosni Mubarak, who was overthrown 16 months ago after a popular uprising, the military council has this month curbed the powers of the presidency. This means that the head of state will have to work closely with the army on a planned democratic constitution. This week's Islam and Life asks: Egypt changes: How can Muslims in the west help the Islamic Awakening?

A US report has revealed that the campaign of assassination drone attacks in Pakistan\'s northwestern tribal belt is terrorizing civilians 24 hours a day and breeding bitter anti-American sentiment.
Men, women and children are subjected to almost constant trauma -- including fear of attack, severe anxiety, insomnia and high levels of stress -- says the new report by law professors at Stanford and New York Universities.
The nine month investigation into the CIA assassination drones, which is based on public data including interviews with civilians, witnesses and survivors of the US assassination drone attacks in northwest Pakistan indicate that the attacks have killed thousands of people since the beginning, with only 2% of those killed in the attacks begin the militants.

The 1933 burning of the Reichstag German House of Parliament was a classic example of a false-flag operation. False-flag ops are acts of military aggression or terrorism committed by governments against their own people but blamed on the governments opponents for the purpose of creating patriotic support of the government and to justify violence against its opponents. Here is the evidence that the Reichstag fire was set by Hitler\'s Nazis and blamed on his opponents so he could quickly consolidate dictatorial power in the name of protecting the people. President Hamid Karzai for the first time has made public that the US wants to have permanent military presence in Afghanistan. He has also unveiled the number of bases the US is mulling over. Karzai wants to let the US have these bases but with some conditions. But on the streets, local Afghans are angry at the prospect of permanent US bases in their country. The say such bases will bring about more problems to Afghans, and that they no more trust foreign forces. It has now been 12 years of war since the US invaded Afghanistan, ostensibly to fight the Taliban and bring peace.

The strike began in February in protest to mistreatment by prison guards who intimidate the detainees by searching their personal belongings and deliberately mishandling their copies of the holy Qur\'an.

NATO is holding one of its largest post-Cold War military drills near Russia\'s borders.
Poland and the Baltic states are hosting the war games launched on Saturday. Code-named \"Steadfast Jazz\", the exercises involve some SIX thousand troops from NATO as well as non-member states such as Finland, Sweden and Ukraine. Around half of them will participate in live exercise training, which will involve armor, aircraft and naval vehicles. NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen says the week-long war games are designed to prepare forces to defend any ally from an unidentified foreign invader. NATO\'s recent actions have raised tensions in the region. Russia has already expressed concerns over NATO\'s missile and radar deployments in Eastern Europe calling them threats to its security.
