HAMAS Says PA Talks With Zionists Is Tantamount To Capitulation - 13 SEP 2010 - English

PA to renew Israeli talks without freeze
Despite Israel's refusal to extend its settlement freeze, the Palestinian Authority (PA) will still resume the second round of direct talks with Tel Aviv.
The upcoming meeting will be held at Egypt's Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh on Tuesday.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and acting PA Chief Mahmoud Abbas held the first round of negotiations in Washington on September 2.
Following the first meeting, Abbas warned that he would leave the negotiations should Israel resume its illegal settlement activities.
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and US Middle East Envoy George Mitchell will also travel to Egypt to attend the meeting.
The four officials will then move to al-Quds (Jerusalem) for a second day of talks on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, US President Barack Obama will meet with Abbas and Netanyahu in New York next week during the UN General Assembly meeting.
The second round of Israeli-PA talks comes after Israel on Monday approved the construction of more than 13,000 new settler units in the occupied West Bank.
In November, the Israeli premier announced a 10-month freeze on illegal settlement expansion projects in the occupied West Bank.
But Tel Aviv has repeatedly violated the freeze, which expires on September 26, by continuing to construct more settlement units.

Israeli tanks roll into Gaza Strip
Israeli tanks have attacked Palestinian refugee camp of al-Burage in their second invasion of the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours.
The Israeli military claimed Monday that the attack was in retaliation for mortar attacks by Hamas fighters on southern Israel.
There have been no immediate reports of casualties, a Press TV correspondent reported.
The raid came after an Israeli tank on Sunday killed three people in the town of Beit Hanoun.
The Israeli violation of the coastal enclave comes after the Palestinian Authority engaged in direct talks with Tel Aviv.
The incursion is in violation of a Palestinian demand for Israel's complete withdrawal behind the borders of 1967, when it captured Gaza, the West Bank and East al-Quds (Jerusalem).
Gaza is still far from recovering from the Israeli war at the turn of 2009, which killed more than 1,400 Palestinians, most of them civilians.

***VIEWER DISCRETION*** Turkey leads anti-Syria smear campaign - 13Jun11 - English

Turkey's smear campaign against the Syrian government is much worse than the propaganda spread by Arab media to tarnish the image of Damascus with regards to its recent unrest.
While Syrian officials and residents of crisis-hit Syrian regions have repeatedly said that armed groups are responsible for the deadly clashes in the country, Turkey has tried to portray Iran and the Lebanese Resistance Movement, Hezbollah, as being behind the unrest in Syria and that they help Damascus quell protests.
The Turkish NTV news channel recently claimed that the Syrian soldiers who refused to open fire on protesters were shot dead by their commanders.
The broadcaster reported that a Syrian soldier taking refuge in the country says that he and his comrades were trying to avoid hurting protesters by firing warning shots, but those who refused to open fire on protesters were shot dead.
"I've seen Iranians and Hezbollah operators giving instructions to shoot, and those who refused were immediately shot dead," the alleged fugitive Syrian soldier told NTV, adding that the soldiers were mostly shot from behind or in the neck.
The Turkish broadcaster has also claimed that Syrian forces have opened fire on unarmed civilians in al-Rastan.
"We opened fire on everyone, the young, the old... Women were raped in front of their husbands and children," the army defector told NTV.
Political analysts in Middle East affairs have accused Ankara of playing a double game -- claiming to support the Damascus government in order to have greater influence in the Middle East, while at the same time supporting and providing a safe haven for armed gangs seeking to incite revolt in Syria.
Iranian analyst Hadi Mohammadi says that the United States has now formed operational headquarters in southern Turkey close to the border with Syria to direct the riots in the Arab country after its attempts to cause unrest in southern Syria were unsuccessful.
Mohammadi said that the United States has assigned Turkey to carry out its anti-Syria plan. It has hence provided aid to the Turkish Army to assist Syrian dissidents in crossing into Turkey and settle in tent villages set up in Turkey's Hatay Province.
Meanwhile, a mass grave with bodies of at least 10 Syrian security forces was discovered near the northwestern town of Jisr al-Shughour on Monday.
Syria's state TV says the victims were killed by armed gangs and the bodies bore marks of torture.
Heavy clashes were reported as troops and tanks moved into the city on Sunday and gunmen targeted civilian areas including a hospital.
The government says it entered the town to restore order after some 120 security forces were killed there about a week ago. People in Jisr al-Shughour gathered to thank government troops for protecting them against the gunmen.

[2] Plight of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar with George Galloway - 27 july 2012 - English
The government of Myanmar refuses to recognize Rohingyas, who it claims are not natives and classifies them as illegal migrants, although they have lived in the country for generations. Myanmar's President Thein Sein said on July 19 that the "only solution" to the plight of Rohingya Muslims is to send the country's nearly one million Muslims -- which the UN says is one of the world's most persecuted minorities -- to refugee camps run by United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
However, the UN refugee agency has snubbed the idea of setting up refugee camps to accommodate the Rohingyas. "We will send them away if any third country would accept them," Sein added. "This is what we are thinking is the solution to the issue." The UN says decades of discrimination have left the Rohingyas stateless, with Myanmar implementing restrictions on their movement and withholding land rights, education and public services.

\\\"The Talking Sword\\\" English Marthia by:Nouri Sardar, recited by Ali Fadhil. A poem from the point of view of Imam Ali (a.s.) after the death of Hazrat Fatima Zahra. Pictures by various artists.
Poem Lyrics:
For her Haidar cries, Fatima has died (2x\\\'s)
And by you is your sword
Oh lion of your Lord
And by you is your sword
Oh lion of your Lord
Your Thulfiqar though it\\\'s unseen cries tears for her
Asking you for vengeance please give it an answer
It points toward the door that was burned by fire
And asks you: \\\"Please let me avenge her, oh Haidar\\\"
For her the sword cries, tears flow from it\\\'s eyes (2x\\\'s)
To sorrow it\\\'s been called,
Oh lion of your Lord
To sorrow it\\\'s been called
Oh lion of your Lord
Haidar answers with his tears talking to the sword:
\\\"Do not tempt me I must show patience to my Lord\\\"
\\\"Though my patience is slowly dying oh my sword\\\"
\\\"I can\\\'t use you to avenge her as I was told\\\"
\\\"To draw you I yearn, In grief my heart burns\\\" (2x\\\'s)
\\\"So draw me,\\\" says the sword
Oh lion of your Lord
\\\"So draw me,\\\" says the sword
Oh lion of your Lord
The sword says, \\\"Haider my eyes saw her when she screamed\\\"
\\\"After the door crushed her, her rib broke as it seemed\\\"
\\\"Oh Haidar to argue with you I do not mean\\\"
\\\"But by the wall and door she was crushed in between\\\"
\\\"How can you stand still when she has wailed?\\\" (2x\\\'s)
\\\"Vengeance by me assured\\\"
O lion of your Lord
\\\"Vengeance by me assured\\\"
O lion of your Lord
Haidar with tears flowing, cries in his bravery
\\\"Oh sword of the wall and door do not remind me\\\"
\\\"For I remember the nail that pierced her body\\\"
\\\"And I wish that in my hand oh sword you had been\\\"
The sword begs \\\'Ali, \\\"In your hands raise me\\\" (2x\\\'s)
\\\"Haidar answer my call\\\"
Oh lion of your Lord
\\\"Haidar answer my call\\\"
Oh lion of your Lord
Haider two things for vengeance are making a call
For vengeance is asking from you the door and wall
Still stained upon them is her blood that on them fell
With their eyes they saw Zahra\\\'s rib broken and torn
For justice they\\\'ve begged
Since her blood was shed
Even patience it cries,
Oh lion of your Lord
Even patience it cries,

'No shelter for Pakistan flood victims'
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) says that more than 80 percent of Pakistanis, who were rendered homeless by floods, are still left without shelter.
The IOM says it only has enough funding to provide 17 percent of the victims with shelter.
"We have probably reached something like 2.1 million people, that is only about 17 percent or less than a fifth of the families that actually need emergency shelter," said a senior official from the organization
The organization is taking part in the UN led relief efforts in flood-stricken Pakistan.
The United Nations is to launch a fresh appeal for funding later this week to help the victims of the worst natural disaster in Pakistan's history.
The floods have affected more than 21 million people and left 10 million without shelter.
More than eight-million people rely on aid handouts for their survival.
The developments come as Pakistani authorities continue efforts to protect several towns in Dadu district near the Indus river in Sindh Province.
A Press TV correspondent says more lives are at risk from waterborne diseases in flood-hit areas.
The correspondent adds that millions of Pakistan flood victims are leading miserable lives in the southern city of Thatta and several other districts in Sindh Province.
They have taken refuge in graveyards or under trees to protect their families from scorching heat in the outskirts of the city.
Survivors have been left without food, water, shelter and other basic necessities in Pakistan as a result of last month's flooding.
More than 1,750 people have lost their lives due to the weeks-long floods, which have engulfed an area the size of England.

Ahmadinejad stands by 9/11 probe call
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says questioning the truth behind the 9/11 attacks does not mean Tehran is apathetic toward the victims of the tragedy.
"The event was very suspicious, but I do not wish to pass judgment. I simply tried to offer a proposal for a humane solution to problems that have risen as a result of 9/11,"Ahmadinejad told a press conference on Friday.
"We are, of course, saddened by the fact that people were killed in 9/11. We have expressed our sympathy and solidarity with their relatives," the Iranian president added.
"But we would also like to bring to your attention that hundreds of thousands of people in our region, innocent people, were killed as the result of 9/11."
In his speech at the UN General Assembly in New York on Thursday, President Ahmadinejad criticized the US response to the 9/11 attacks, saying it was just a pretext for invading Iraq and Afghanistan.
One day before the ninth anniversary of the September 11 attacks, the Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth said evidence regarding the destruction of the World Trade Center towers has emerged that show planted explosives were used in the demolition of the buildings.
Gregg Roberts, who is a member of the non-profit organization disputing the results of official 9/11 investigations, said the "official story is a lie, it is a fraud."

Ahmadinejad: IAEA under pressure
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is under Western pressure when it comes to reporting on Iran's nuclear program.
"Western powers have dominated the agency. So when they prepare a new report they pick on two issues," Ahmadinejad told reporters on Friday. "They are not even sure to which legal article they can adhere to when they seek to speak against us."
"They speak in general terms, and do not provide any evidence to show that we have committed any violations," he added.
The president criticized the agency's latest report, in which Director General Yukiya Amano concludes that the IAEA verifies the non-diversion of "declared" nuclear material in Iran, but has adopted unusual wording with regard to the country's safeguards obligations.
"We say we have shown you everything that we have...and when we ask them to show proof of the existence of this undeclared material, they ask us in turn to offer evidence that they are non-existent."
Iranian officials reject Western accusations that Tehran is pursuing a military nuclear program, arguing that as a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Iran has the right to peaceful nuclear energy.

Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei narrates and explains a tradition narrated from the Messenger of Allah (S), the holy Prophet Muhammad (S), where his eminence (S) tells us all, \\\\\\\"Use The Provisions Allah Has Given You\\\\\\\".
What did the Messenger of Allah (S) say when he saw a person who was untidy and messy looking?
Ultimately, Who gives us the provisions and blessings that we have in our lives?
Is the concept of Zuhd in contradiction to a person\\\\\\\'s using and benefiting from the blessings given to them by Allah?
What must one keep in mind when benefiting from the blessings given to them by Allah?
What does the late Mullah Faiz Kashani write about this matter being discussed?
And in era where most people didn\\\\\\\'t have mirrors, what did the people use in order to make sure that they looked orderly and tidy?
What would the Messenger of Allah (S) do before he left his house in order to meet his companions?
Finally, why are we told to, \\\\\\\"Use The Provisions Allah Has Given You\\\\\\\"?
Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei expounds upon the wise words of the Messenger of Allah (S), the holy Prophet Muhammad (S), where his eminence (S) says to the true believers \\\\\\\"Use The Provisions Allah Has Given You\\\\\\\".

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says the Islamic world has been awakened and is on alert about Palestine.
\\\\\\\"Today, the Islamic world is becoming more sensitive and motivated about the Palestinian issue in comparison to 60 years ago when the enormous catastrophe occurred,\\\\\\\" Ayatollah Khamenei said Wednesday while addressing crowds of Iranians after Eid ul-Fitr prayer, which marks end of the holy month of Ramadan.
\\\\\\\"The resistance of the brave Palestinian people is one of the most important factors behind the world\\\\\\\'s support for them. Palestinians have proved that they deserve to be called a vital Muslim nation,\\\\\\\" the Leader added.
The Leader continued, \\\\\\\"We told the Palestinian people and their legal government, as well as Hamas leaders and Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniya, that the Iranian nation will not desert you.\\\\\\\"
\\\\\\\"On the contrary, the Zionist enemy weakens day by day. This is an issue that even senior Zionists admit,\\\\\\\" Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The Leader added that the Islamic world faces an all-out political and cultural invasion, saying, \\\\\\\"This does not mean that enemies have become stronger. Rather it means that they sense their weakness and are resorting to different strategies.\\\\\\\"
The Leader called on Muslims across the world to maintain their unity and to not allow enemies to cause strife between Shia and Sunni.
Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out the great achievements of the Iranian nation and said, \\\\\\\"Iranians are taking major steps toward progress. Their achievements belong to all Muslims.\\\\\\\"
The Leader stressed that Iranians from all walks of life, including senior political officials, should strengthen their unity and strive for the national interests of the country.

[1] Plight of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar with George Galloway - 27 July 2012 - English

Iran wants IAEA to inspect Israel
Iran's nuclear point man says Tehran expects the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to "follow up" on a resolution to inspect Israel's nuclear facilities.
Last year, the General Conference agreed on a resolution requiring Israel to open up for IAEA inspection.
"This year we hope... that they would follow up on this, that the Zionist regime [of Israel] will open its nuclear sites to inspection by the IAEA and ... that the IAEA will also pursue this issue very firmly," Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi told Press TV.
Salehi said that Western countries were mounting pressure to prevent the IAEA from taking action. He expressed hope that the agency would carry out its obligation without taking sides.
Given that Israel is the sole possessor of nuclear weapons in the Middle East, putting pressure on Tel Aviv is the least the IAEA can do, the AEOI head added.
Salehi's remarks comes as Arab member states of the IAEA plan to present a resolution to the body in the annual General Conference next week, urging Israel to join the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
Western countries, spearhead by the US, are urging the Arab members of the IAEA to drop the request.
US State Department spokesman Philip Crowley said Wednesday that the IAEA was not the place to discuss Israel's membership in the NPT.
"Israel has fully cooperated with the IAEA," and "we believe there is really no basis for a debate at the IAEA," Philip Crowley said.
