This Video: Washington DC.
Thousands of American, Canadian and British Muslims protest against Extremist Wahabis and the Government of Pakistan.
April 14, 2012: The streets across the Embassies and Consulates of Pakistan in London, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary were filled with protestors chanting slogans against the extremist wahabis and against the Government of Pakistan. They were protesting the barbaric murders of innocent Shia Muslims on April 02, 2012, where buses travelling between Rawalpindi and Gilgit were stopped in Chilas and the Shia Muslims were identified and brutally slaughtered by the extremist wahabis as their families watched and screamed in horror. The protestors also expressed their pain and anger at the ongoing genocide in Quetta, Karachi, Lahore and other areas of Pakistan and demanded an immediate end to the killings.
Speakers at the rallies categorically stated that they are not protesting against Pakistan or against any sect of Islam. They are against the extremist ideology followed by the barbaric criminals committing the massacres and against the Government of Pakistan for failing to close Saudi-funded hate schools and for failing to arrest the murderous graduates of these schools.
The largest rallies were taken out in Washington DC (USA), London (UK) and Toronto (Canada), where thousands of Muslims belonging to various sects of Islam gathered to show their solidarity with the victims. They raised the slogans of "Shias and Sunnis are brothers" and "Long Live Pakistan". The participants of the Washington DC rally had traveled from Houston, Detroit, Chicago, New York, Atlanta Boston, Dallas, Seattle Washington DC and other cities to register their protest. These were the largest protest ever held against the Government of Pakistan and showcased the extreme pain and anger felt by the British, American and Canadian Muslims.
Hundreds also gathered in Los Angeles, Ottawa, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton to show their solidarity with the victims whose eyes were gouged out and heads smashed with rocks in front of their families without any reason.
The Saturday protests in USA, UK and Canada were called in solidarity with the protestors in Pakistan who staged a long sit-in at the parliament house in Islamabad to press for the arrest of the murderers. Delegation of the protestors across North America and Europe met with the officials at the Pakistani Embassies and Consulates and submitted their demands for the Government to take action against the perpetrators within 15 days and to take concrete steps to end the ongoing genocide. The protestors passed a resolution that if the Government does not arrest the perpetrators within 15 days they will hold larger and frequent protests across North America and Europe and will take their case to the United Nations and the International Court of Justice.

[12 Aug 2012] Pakistan resolute to import gas from Iran - English
These violent protests against the long power outages are a grim reminder that Pakistan is in the midst of severe energy crisis.
Many parts of the country remain without electricity for several hours even during the month of Ramadan.
Facing public pressure, the government is exploring several options to meet the country's future energy needs.
One such option is to import natural gas from neighboring Iran.
But Islamabad is under pressure from the United States to abandon the project.

At least four British men were killed while fighting alongside al-Qaeda-linked militants in Syria.
British newspaper, The Times, reported that three of the British nationals were killed in August as their group attacked the Syrian government forces near the northern city of Aleppo.
The men are believed to be from London. The fourth individual was killed two weeks later while trying to ambush a Syrian army position.
British intelligence agency MI5 says that between 200 and 300 young British men have moved to Syria to fight against the government of President Bashar al-Assad.
The intelligence agency also raised concerns that the British militants would recruit new converts to their cause or even launch attacks in the UK.

An investigation by the Associated Press has found that an American who went missing in southern Iran seven years ago was a CIA agent.
Robert Levinson vanished during a visit to Kish island in March 2007. The US government said he was on a business trip when he disappeared. But the findings of the AP investigation show the CIA sent Levinson to Iran on a spying mission and later paid his family 2.5 million dollars to head off a revealing lawsuit. Tehran has repeatedly said it has no information about the whereabouts of Levinson but is ready to help locate him on humanitarian grounds.

Ukraine has been hit with a wave of political unrest since late November when President Viktor Yanukovych refused to sign a trade pact with the European Union.
The refusal to sign the deal triggered major street protests by the opposition supporters, who want Ukraine to become closer to the EU and distance itself from Russia.
Clashes erupted several times between the anti-government protesters and police forces during the demonstrations. Several arrests were made in the course of the protests as well.
In an effort to calm the political unrest, Yanukovych on Wednesday invited all parties, including the opposition, to engage in dialog to resolve the crisis facing the country.
Ukrainian opposition leaders rejected Yanukovych\'s offer of negotiations, calling for dismissal of his government and release of detained protesters.
Russia has criticized Western nations for interfering in Ukraine, saying protests against Kiev\'s decision to back away from the EU deal were destabilizing the former Soviet state.
The Russian parliament, the State Duma, in a non-binding statement on Tuesday urged the West to \"stop mounting external pressure on the politics of a country that is brotherly to us.\"
The lower house of parliament also called on Ukrainian opposition forces to \"stop illegal actions\" over the political crisis.

The Afghan government is about to release dozens of inmates from Parwan detention center north of the capital Kabul. Officials say 65 inmates will be set free within the next 24 hours. The government says it does not have enough proof to keep the inmates behind bars. But the United States has already voiced concern over the release of the prisoners. U-S military officials say some of the prisoners are dangerous criminals who have links to al-Qaeda militants. Washington also says their release could pose a security threat to the future of Afghanistan. The U-S handed over control of Parwan prison to Afghan forces back in March 20-13.
